He would watch as Kaya unleashed a frenzied flurry of blows against S-22 followed up by Keiko's desperate Hyper Beam, Blizzard's barrage of Ice Beams, and Cera attempting to restrain S-22 with a Psychic. As he watched his allies fight in spite of the death they witnessed, and not just Nevermore's, his consciousness regained control, if only partially. The fog of anger and revenge parted just a bit for him to consider his next actions and how to deal with the murderer of his most beloved Pokemon.

Blizzard's attempts to herd the Sharpedo hybrid would prove rather effective, just as the virtual wall of Ancientpowers had been before, no matter how fast S-22 was until he started approaching light speed the presence of physical obstacles was going to force him to maneuver around them or suffer the consequences. The path Blizz had lain out before him gave him no room to dodge the Hyper Beam, Dazzling Gleam or Flash Cannon projected by Kaya and was forced to forcibly deflect the projectiles himself, forearms smoking from the impact of the latter two. The sheer effort and desperation summoned into the Hyper Beam once again nearly forces him to his knees, but instead he opts to step out onto the ice and out of the way of the end portion of the beam and right into the path of Kaya's sword. The first cut bites deep as the Sharpedo is unable to dodge it or deflect it at all and has to put his forearm up to catch the ethereal blade, causing a strange whining groan like a coffee maker full of rocks to emit from deep inside the hybrid's chest as ruby red runs out from the wound and down around the blade. He doesn't give Kaya a second swing, using the ice to turn and send Kaya spinning off across the ground as the sword removes itself from his arm with a meaty 'schlk'. The numbers were finally catching up with the machine of destruction, no matter how strong or fast he was he wasn't going to be able to shrug hits off forever. Cautious observes would notice his wound re-knitting itself shut slowly, probably another samping of Ein's modifications. Cera's psychic serves to spin him around a bit more across the surface of the ice, effectively negating his main advantage of insane speed but it also...

In the end, Cherry was just a bait. If S-22 went for the Absol, it would create an opening for Veronica to go in without getting hurt. Though she made sure to move through the field in a way that the others and S-22 may not assume that her intentions were to go in herself. She brushed away her tears, hoping no one would notice that either.

Put him directly in the path of the marauding Absol. Distraction or not, Shadow Virus or not. Cherry was just an Absol. A blossom waiting to be plucked off the cherry tree of life. S-22 extends his jaw, row after row of deadly teeth clicking into place again-

He would soon reappear behind Kaya, jumping out of the hybrid's shadow, swinging at S-22 with fists engulfed in dark energy, timing it right when S-22 misstep thanks to Blizzard's Ice Beams. Immediately he fired off the Flip-Shot function from his Snag Machine at S-22, hoping to reverse his Psychic immunity to allow Cera's Psychic to work and also give his blows more effect. During his barrage he would cast the green orbs onto the ground and disappear into the created faces only to appear from another one, hoping to catch the Sharpedo hybrid off guard with his chaotic assault. At one point he would command Tamerlane to jump out of one orb, the Pangoro attempting to grab S-22 with a 'bear hug' from behind while executed a Quash. At the same time Poe the Mega Sableye would appear next from an orb above S-22 and attempt to latch onto his head, also executing a Quash to restrain him. Sub would then reappear after them with Ulalume the Malamar on his back to cast a Topsy-Turvy, firing the lightning-like energy at S-22 from over Sub's shoulder, hoping to disorienting it enough to help the others.

Finally the grand finale would come as a Master Ball was dropped from an orb above and hit the ground, releasing Registeel. If S-22 was restrained enough Sub and his Pokemon would disengage right as Registeel reached out to physically grab and squeeze S-22 in its metallic grip and make sure it went nowhere.

If it was all successful Sub would stand there, inches away from S-22 and Registeel and ponder the next course of action. "...I should have Registeel return the favor for Nevemore..." He muttered, seriously contemplating order his legend to relieve S-22 of his head, in spite of Reno's wishes and belief that S-22 was just another victim of Ein.

Two Quash and Topsy-Turvy take him off balance again, fighting as his mechanical pieces attempt to restore his vision and his balance when...

Requiem of Whyspers
In spite of himself, the bottomless pit of despair he felt himself falling into, something else was there as well. Rage. Screaming at the top of his voice, his energy exploded outward as he pushed his Magic Room to it's limit and engulfed the entire arena.

The Magic Room, that had been too limited in scale to catch the swiftly moving and well aware Sharpedo hybrid before now fully clamps down across the entirety of his platforms. None of the mechanical systems were directly integrated with anything that would be considered 'life support' - Ein would have to assume that EMPs and other technology disabling weapons would be used against a monster intended to take down an entire region on its own, but it does turn off S-22's visor as intended before, reducing his visibility to nil and combined with the Topsy-Turvy and a few other miscellaneous systems being disabled by Magic Room disorients the shark long enough finally to...

Allow the massive Registeel to clench S-22's body in a full grip, restraining the living weapon for the first time in what was no doubt forever. Even still, the legend's hand would begin to shake violently inches from Sub's face as S-22's brute strength began showing itself, attempting to muscle its way out of the Steel-type's grip.

“Goon… gon?” Tatooine turned to her trainer as she noticed a change in her trainer. Despite the energy it took to weaken that area of the Protect barrier, she was starting to draw on even more energy again until she opened them up once more, a Sandstorm erupting along with that motion, erupting purely upon Aile’s emotion currently. Aile would scan the audience once more before barking out orders. “Sarlaac, Giga Drain that shark! Korriban, Stone Edge!” One rock fist slam later and another stone stalagmite would jump up out near S-22, followed by a tendril of sand coming from the sandcastle to try and latch onto his leg, hoping to drain some of his energy.

Ulla watched as her teammates were putting all of their frustration out onto S-22. She noticed Keiko fire a massive one handed Hyper Beam as she quickly ran towards her. She helped her adoptive parent keep balance after firing that massive beam. She looked at her mother's arm as it wasn't moving properly, as she came to the conclusion that it was broken. She held it gently as all she can release from her 'sewn mouth' was a small whimper. She then turned to S-22 as she stood infront of Keiko in a protective matter as the child's right arm started to be consumed with a dark ghost aura. Her arm started to become a dark claw is it was suppose to mimic Mimikyu's Shadow Claw.

The Shadow Claw, Giga Drain and Stone Edge all hit home the portion of S-22 that's currently sticking out of the top of Registeel's head, direct hits one and all. And while they do damage at the moment, the Giga Drain leeching away energy was probably the only thing that was positive to the person most in danger at the moment...

Reno Vantas
Reno would barely manage to right himself before impacting the other side of the Protect dome, steering himself into a mild crash landing into the arena floor a moment after he became visible to the Snagems within. But it seemed he wasn't even able to rest for a moment, as energies that had been gathering were finally released, an apocalyptic blast of energy that slammed into the Snagems and Pokemon gathered outside. A blast that destroyed all of those gathered below them. Including Leslie.

Turning towards S-22, Reno could feel an intense well of deep loathing and anger springing up, the fury and force of it begin enough to almost physically make Reno buckle from the force of it. But....it wasn't directed at S-22, not like what everyone else was doing. Reno had seen what had become of S-22's psyche, how he was more a bundle of instinct and vague thoughts than an actual thinking being, even though there was one underneath all of the trauma that had been inflicted on the being. No, his vast and unending hatred was being purely directed towards Ein. For killing them all. For what he had done to S-22. And for the utter lack of care he displayed for all he had done. So it was time to start fixing everything. "Everyone! Keep S-22 pinned down! I have to do this myself and you all need to make sure I can do that!" Reno shouted, slowly lowering himself on top of his Metagross before beginning to make efforts to focus on S-22's mind.

Last time, he had seen a battlefield of barbed wire and red skies with all manner of machinery of war and other creations to fight him off. But what could Reno find this time to fight, to try and reach that seed of a psyche and conscious that he knew existed within the being? It was impossible to tell, especially after the myriad of other 'enhancements' that Ein had inflicted on the poor being.

Reno would find himself inside the same nightmarish hellscape he had tried to intrude into back on the rocket high above Mossdeep. There was the same rows of barbed wire and flaming red sky, but there had clearly been some kind of destructive force through here merely moments before Reno had arrived, cutting a clean path through the palisades and other thorny barriers, leaving a clearing of sorts. The small, frightened crying sound the Psychic channeler had heard last time was no more, but that could have to do more with the internal conflict now raging in the center of this prison. In the middle of the clearing, Reno could see a small frightened male Sharpedo hybrid, barely older than a teenager from his point of view. And seated on his chest was a form of inky black darkness, Shadow Virus incarnate, in the form of a S-22 fascimile. Its mouth is gaping wide and though the smaller figure on the ground is fighting mightily, clearly it was losing this struggle despite being aided by a set of phantom Registeel finger shaped restraints attempting to tug the monster away from it.

Requiem of Whyspers
"No...No no no no no no... nononono!" Kaya muttered as the realization dawned on him. It was over. Everything was over. Ein won. There was absolutely no way to stop this thing now! It had proven it was capable of more than following orders in the last few seconds. It could think for itself too.

It wasn't that S-22 could always think for itself. It was that it could finally begin thinking for itself. And Ein's programming was bound and determined to wipe out this cluster of free will, lobotomizing this kernel of individuality once and for all. The attacks on the outside internalize themselves as flashes of lightning and cracks of thunder in the sky, the barbed wire all around Reno beginning to move like sentient snakes, coiling up around the arms of his psychic projection from behind as they attempt to drag the mental intruder away.

Keiko only had a few short moments to relax in her forced slumber before she noticed energy building up in her body, accentuating the pain of her broken ribs and, to a lesser extent, her limp arm. Confused, as it should be impossible to recover this quickly, the Lopunny hybrid forced her eyes open to find Audrey. The Audino had apparently let herself out of her ball and was now aiming a Heal Pulse at her trainer.

"Thank you," Keiko said weekly, patting Audrey's head and shifting herself up to a sitting position, "but no amount of Heal Pulse is going to put my bones back together."

Despite saying that, Keiko didn't stop Audrey from what she was doing, as her focus had shifted to the cloaked Fairy Channeler in front of her. She recognized Ulla instantly, but was a bit taken back by what was covering her. Apparently, she had somehow fused with her Mimikyuu. Her shock faded when she remembered what had happened to those of us fighting the horde down below. Of course Ulla was acting out. She'd just lost two important people in her life. As much as she wanted to console the younger Snagem or at least fight at her side, she couldn't do the latter in her current state, and she couldn't really do the former while Ein and S-22 were at large.

As Audrey stopped using Heal Pulse, Keiko let Cutie back out of her ball. The Ribombee panicked a bit when she saw her trainer in the state she was in, but Keiko shook her head at the Bug-type. "I need you to use Dazzling Gleam on S-22. I can't fight on my own anymore, so please, take my place and do the best you can." Keiko asked, struggling to talk with her torso in the state that it was. She didn't bother recalling Audrey. She didn't mind having the Audino watching over her while Cutie fought in her stead. Meanwhile, she could watch over Ulla and make sure her daughter didn't get hurt the way she did or worse. In the meantime, she pushed herself up to her feet, grateful that at the very least, she still had the use of her legs.

S-22 was getting more and more restricted, damage was finally starting to rack up, then finally the Registeel from Sub. He already started on Step 2: Restrain. With no where free to go, it was time to lock him down. I was going to do that myself, but frankly? Probably just as well, Registeel could certainly do it better than I could and take the abuse from anything better than I could. "Dartrix! Cera!" I said, backing off away from the onslaught. "I need a Grass Knot! Go!"

"HOO!" The Dartrix shouted out, unleashing various vines which started to entangle and tighten around the Registeel and S-22. I wasn't worried about hurting either one of them at this point, Registeel especially. This was nothing more than reinforcement to what Registeel already had. S-22 wasn't going to get away if I could help it. We've lost too much as is. Even then, that wasn't going to hold forever. Reno needed to do whatever he had to do, and quickly.

Reno would take a minute to wonder what exactly had gone down to tear a path straight through the place and right towards where S-22 and his true self were currently tussling. But he wasn't going to question it too much, the real guy was up and trying to fight. That's all he needed to get an in. Feeling the hits that were going on and seeing the peals of thunder and lightning, Reno could feel himself getting a sense for what did what in this situation, especially with the distinctive Registeel fingers currently binding S-22. Attacks created the sharp lightning blasts, while efforts to wrangle the beast kept it contained in here. So all he had to do was make sure the beast was bound up or otherwise adjusted so that the real deal could take back the driver's seat. This seemed so familiar to Reno.

Before he could reminisce about his own mental battles against himself, a sharp pain in his left arm would signal him back to reality. Looking to the limb, he was surprsied to find it was flesh and blood, and also that it currently looked to be constricted by the barbed wire around the area. The barbed wire that seemed to be coming to life and snaking its way over to him in order to bind him and banish him from this mental realm. Well, couldn't just make this easy. Pushing some of his energy into his legs, Reno grit his teeth as he felt the barbed wire biting deeper into his left arm. But he could feel himself beginning to float and move forward, a sensation he pushed even farther as he began skating towards the two dueling Sharpedo figures. But even as he did so, he could see the lengths of barbed wire leaping and slinging themselves across his path in an effort to snag him, to add onto the wires biting into his left arm, anything they could do to remove the offending persona from S-22's mind. But Reno persisted, managing to reach the edge of the clearing that the two were contained within before the wires on his left arm finally snapped taut, holding him at bay from drawing closer to deal with the S-22 projection more physically. And there was still the other wires streaking towards him to snatch him up and drag him out of there.

Plans began to race through Reno's mind as he debated exactly what he could do. He could try and use the wires to conduct one of the lightning blasts into S-22, but that risked frying the kid along with the beast. Simply cutting the wires was too simple and they would be right back on him in a heartbeat. So...he had one choice, really. Not like it would do permanent damage, it was only his mind. And with that rationalization, Reno would gather energy into his right hand and help steer one of the blasts of lightning, using the plasma to slice through his left arm like a hot knife through butter. With the sudden release of tension, Reno fired into the clearing like a rocket. Aiming straight for S-22, Reno would attempt to hook his right arm around the beast's neck and use his momentum to kick S-22's right arm away before doing his best to use his entire body and all the energy he could gather to lock the thing into a massive armbar. "Kid! Fight! I've got your back!" Reno shouted, attempting to lock eyes with teenaged Sharpedco hybrid, whether he was hooked around S-22 or simply flying past like a crazed bottle rocket.

----

Back in reality, Aria would be finally arriving back on the scene as she saw the current chaos surrounding Reno and S-22, with all of Snagem doing their best to keep the giant Sharpedo hybrid bound up. But still....no rhythm. Absolutely no syncing to their movements. To bind something this big with all they had, it needed to be coordinated to something. Something to inspire, to dictate, to reach them all even when words would fail. And with that line of thinking, Aria soon found herself reaching an odd conclusion. Getting out her setup for having Vibrato aid her as an amp, she would begin talking to her Noivern partner. "Look, I know this sounds insane but.....if this can coordinate their efforts or at least getting them working on a similar beat, it should pay off so much more. So just be steady and lets give them all a beat to beat this Sharpedo to. And I have just the song....." Aria muttered, wiring up a music player to shore up her performance. All she had was a guitar and a voice, she couldn't exactly break out a full accompaniment at a whim. Nodding to Suigetsu as she finished preparing, the Pangoro would dash forward at S-22, attempting to join in on the effort to grapple and restrain the beast by using his own form for all of his throws to brace himself and aid in forcing the Sharpedo hybrid into submission.

As she finished preparing herself, Aria would take a broad stance on the back of her Noivern before looking over the arena. "Oh, please let this insanity work. Please. Please. Please let this work." Aria muttered to herself, fingers jittering slightly as she pressed play and waited a moment. And once she knew the thing had started, began playing the most infectious bass line she knew. And as she did so, she poured her whole being into it, trying desperately to make her feelings, her efforts to get everyone to focus and unite and synergize, translate through somehow. And she began to belt out the lyrics, she continued to hope and pray that this would do what she wanted, would somehow keep them fighting and motivate them all to their maximum efforts.

"Wait, how did... oh." Cera was on the edge of being stunned that her attempts did anything at all, until realizing that what weird shot during everything had to have been: A Flip Shot to allow Psychic to have the chance it needed to have some effectiveness. She wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth, silently thankful for the effort when she heard Blizz speak up and finally realized what he had in mind.

It was safe to say her head wasn't straight at the moment. A lot had gone on at once and it was all hard to process fully, let alone unpack. Stuff that would have to wait for now.

"Right, I'm on it!" She spoke up, moving to join Blizz's Dartrix and Mimic the Grass Knot, aiming to aid in its growth and attempts to entangle. At least this was much easier to manage than the earlier Ancient Power.

As S-22 tried to take a bite at Cherry, Veronica went in through the hole with a glance back that didn't last long enough to transmit any information. Below, Veronica sent out her Infernape to shine a bright light in the area. "It sounds like it's really bad or really good up there." Veronica said, taking a look around the place. Veronica figured the machine that did the damage below would be easy to recognize.
((help in describing what she should see -- if anything))

Having been so close to death, Cherry froze for several moments as attacks kept being dealt to the enemy. It wasn't until Spirit approached her that she snapped out of it. The Jellicent placed one of his arms on the Absol in worry. Cherry just shook it off, refusing her team mate's help, and jumped away to send over a Dark Pulse in the enemy's direction. Soon, Spirit would be by Cherry's side again and join in the attack with a swift Shadow Ball. The two attacks combined into a stronger launch at S-22.

Sub noted Registeel shake and struggle to hold S-22, to no surprise to the Dark One. Registeel was strong, but so was S-22 and he had come to expect such strength from this monster now. That was when the Grass Knot vines rose up and around S-22, aiding Registeel in straining the monster, the Dazzling Gleam and hits from a Shadow Ball and Dark Pulse helping in keeping it distracted. That was when another Pangoro come in to help Registeel physically hold the creature, which was a much welcome assist. Even then it seemed like it wouldn't be enough as Registeel began to lose its grip, Sub and his Pokemon taking a step back as they anticipated the worse. That was when Aria took the stage.

A fierce melody quickly consumed the stadium, its commanding beat drowning out almost all other sounds not by volume but with its captivating melody and when Aria began to sing it was almost impossible to ignore the proverbial siren's song. Sub could feel her song inside of him, in his very soul, burrowing deep and pulling out of him strength he thought already expended. No longer could he feel the pain and exhaustion, the wear and tear of battle. It was all there but Aria's song made it simple, if not mandatory, to ignore. Even Registeel responded positively to the beat as it 'beeped' excitedly and tightened its grip on S-22, perhaps even tighter than before.

Turning his attention towards the source of the sound, the girl named Aria, Sub would just stare for awhile as he pieced together what was going on. The girl was a Channeler, and if he had to make an educated guess a Normal type one. How did he never notice it before? For years without fail he picked out the latent Channelers from crowds with ease, many of his fellow teammates discovering their potential because of his 'gift' to clocking them. Somehow though Aria flew right under his radar, and it looked like she possessed a power that should not have gone unnoticed for this long. The potential he could already sense astounded him.

Not wanting to let this opportunity pass him by he looked towards Poe who was still Mega Evolved, not doubt thanks to the song, and pumped as ever. "Go catch up to Veronica. You know what to do." He told Poe who grinned excited before scurrying across the ground on all fours before diving into the hole in the arena ground. Now was the perfect opportunity to sneak around while Ein's attack dog was occupied. It wouldn't take long for Poe to catch up to Veronica, running up ahead of her and giving her a wave as he creeped along with her.

Ulla watched as mother sent her Pokemon to fight for her now that she was down. The child looked at her hands, as she couldn't even express how shocked she was right now. Right now. All the emotions that she wanted to express, made her this way. She helped Keiko up so there wouldn't be much pain in her torso. Even though it looked like Keiko wanted to watch over Ulla, she was in no state to. The child then gently let her off her then leaned her on her Togekiss that showed up with Decidueye and Lucario in tow. "Master, I know you are in much pain with the loss of your brother and father. Resulting in Mimikyu to somehow fuse with you in order to keep your emotions in check. But we must foc-"

Ulla merely turned to Lucario. Even though she spoke no words. Lucario understood her emotions. "Yes Master. I am sorry." He said very apologetically. With the help of Mimikyu channeling, Ulla was able to focus more clearly. Mimikyu was able to mask Ulla's true feelings with it's cloak. The child then shared a stare down with Lucario as he merely nodded. "Understood. Togekiss. Stay with mother Keiko. Decidueye and I will watch after Ulla." Togekiss cheered happily as Ulla ran towards S-22. Lucario and Decidueye ran with her as the owl started gliding as he shot a Shadow Sneak to at the monster. Lucario and Ulla then followed up with Close Combat and Shadow Claw.

Once it was the perfect timing, Ulla would make a large bubble around S-22 as she made the bubble grow smaller and smaller, hoping to keep it in there. Even though it probably would break, she was going to hold it down.

Ryan wasn't going to let S-22 get away freely.

Undine, Moonblast! Aysu, let's gamble, Sheer Cold!" Ryan orders.

Ryan's Primarina would blast S-22 with another concentrated blast of fairy energy.

Aysu, this time, would gather up a ball of energy that was just bitterly cold, and launch it at S-22. If it hit, both Ryan and Aysu were unsure of what it would do to the Hybrid.

That voice.

It wasn't master's voice.

You are my greatest creation. The perfect weapon. You will birth upon the world untold sorrows... but alongside me we will make the world a better place... together...

For the longest time the only voice he could hear was his masters. In the beginning, pain, then the voice. Always in his skull, talking to him. Making him do things. Making him think things. Making him kill. He was good at killing.

Excellent work. You are proof positive of my thesis. The strong shall exercise their will upon the weak. Those with the might to do as they please should do as they please and woe betide the weak that fall before them.

Unable to see, unable to think. Day in and day out the machines keep him running. The voice keeps him directed. The voice comforts him. Cares for him. When he was sad the voice made him feel better. When he was weak the voice made him strong. He loves the voice, it is always there for him. When he kills, the voice sings his praises. When he sleeps the voice lulls him to sleep. Until now.

Kill him.

Was that the voice? No, it was impossible. The voice loved him.

We need this seed of consciousness dead before he can cause trouble.

Consciousness?

End it.

Was that what this was?

Finish him.

Where am I?

Magic Room took down the safeguards, he's fighting.

What is this form on my chest?

Someone else is in there now too, tear out his blasted throat!

The voice that he loved was urging this monstrosity to kill him. The voice didn't love him? Why... why would it do that?

Reno Vantas
"Kid! Fight! I've got your back!" Reno shouted, attempting to lock eyes with teenaged Sharpedco hybrid, whether he was hooked around S-22 or simply flying past like a crazed bottle rocket.

Fight?

You are the ultimate fighting machine.

The young Sharpedo hybrid cranes his neck back in the middle of the hellscape to look up at the giant slavering 'thing' of darkness seated on his chest.

Twenty-one failures came before you.

Is that...?

Twenty-one weaklings.

Is that.....?

But not you. The world will remember your number forever, etched into the annals of history by your own hand.

Is that me?

S-22.

Who am I? What have I become? The Sharpedo's eyes narrow. Fight. He could do one thing well, he knew, face to face with his own consciousness all of a sudden. He was a fighter. There was nothing to fear from this monstrosity of darkness, little man hanging from its neck or no, that call to fight roused something that had been left for dead deep inside the monster dubbed S-22 by his progenitor. Something that was supposed to be wiped out but not so easy to erase.

You are mine - mind body AND soul.

His humanity.

--

"NO." This declaration, seemingly from nowhere would be uttered with such power, such ferocity, and from the most surprising place - the lips of S-22 himself. It cuts through the song with its sheer intensity that was detectable at a distance from force alone. And all of a sudden, anyone with the ability to sense energy would be able to sense the Sharpedo hybrid's power all at once. The massiveness of the rage and energy released would dwarf anything in the area, Registeel included, and it was only increasing. The visor affixed to his face spiderwebs into a mass of cracks before it shatters, black pieces of LCD screen clattering to the ground to reveal two brilliant blue eyes that despite the wires running behind them into his head had a blazing fire lit in them. He was staring defiantly out into the world but he wasn't looking at any of them in particular, it was as if he was staring deep inside himself and loathing what he found there.

Peeling back the fingers of the Registeel with seeming ease alongside this newfound burst of energy, you could almost say he had gone even further beyond his original power. He flicks the approaching Darts aside with a small swipe of his hand, sending the Giratina hybrid crashing into the ground, again almost without really looking at him. The Grass Knot potentially would have held him in place but, well...

There was a Sheer Cold aimed at him that missed the mark by quite a bit, shattering both Grass Knots to shards while also popping Ulla's bubble, freeing S-22 from their confines. And then, in the very instant he was freed, he was gone. By this point the Speed Boost had heightened his speed to where it had to be nearly damaging his body to utilize it fighting. But he doesn't. From the afterimages, it looked like the newly ascended S-22 (maybe make that double ascended) had leapt from the top of Realgam Tower and taken off at a speed beyond anything any of them could follow, quitting the field of battle, hell, probably quitting the region all at once. They had driven him off, finally, the first group of people for the first time in five long years.

Reno would find himself back in the real world. The last thing he had seen was the shadowy S-22 monster rearing up to devour the teenager below him and the teen smiling before unhinging his own jaw to devour the darkness inside of him. Had he saved that boy, or cursed him to a life that he would have been better without? Questions for another day.

Silence settles over the top of Realgam tower for the first time since the battle had commenced. Smoke drifts up from the crater down below, a hole that had once contained their comrades. Their friends. They all had a moment to soak it in as the hush settled in around them, the wind from the desert whipping past the quiet tower. It hadn't been a bloodless battle.

And then, mostly unnoticed until now - save a few times where they had to be saved from the raw chaos of the fight itself - one of the manacled prisoners, an old man with a grizzled beard and missing an eye from some experiment or another raises his hands and then puts them together. Slowly, bit by bit, the other prisoners join in as though they had at first forgotten what it was like to celebrate and it's not long before the remaining Snagems are bathed in whistles and cheering, thunderous applause rolling across their tired body as the reason this team existed in the first place showed just how much they appreciated their sacrifice.

Down below the surface of the tower Veronica (and Poe) would stumble upon something - a massive vault of sorts. Pitch black with a humongous door, the thing was clearly made of pure Ebonite. No teleporting, phasing, dimension warping or anything else of that sort in or out. It was, to her eyes, nearly hermetically sealed. No cracks or seams of any kind gave away the exact shape of the door, but this enormous monolith in the heart of Realgam Fortress itself had to open somehow as the touchpad blinking on the outside of it indicated. A simple little touchscreen blinked two innocent words at Veronica's face above an alphanumeric keypad display.

Keiko didn't have a problem with passing out at this point. She shouldn't even be out here fighting. She didn't have the kind of team that could take S-22, and realistically, she never should have challenged S-22 with her own strength. She only just become a hybrid in the grand scheme of things and wasn't trained in the use of her Pokemon side. She was better off unconscious and out of the way of those Snagems that actually stood a chance. Yes, she hated Ein for more than just his words, as his actions had taken the man she loved from her, but there was no point trying to do something about it if it'd just end up in her death, which, with S-22 in her way, was all too likely. She was better off down for the count.

Somebody had other plans, however, and she could see that once she felt her body's energy replenishing. She took in a breath, which she instantly regretted due to the pain caused by the few of her ribs that were broken. Feeling ornery due to the unwelcome pain and her own self-loathing, she forced herself to a sitting position before bothering to open her eyes and looking at the entity responsible for her newfound energy, only to find Audrey out of her ball and focusing a Heal Pulse at her. Obvserving the worried expression on the Audino's face, Keiko felt her stubbornness subside. Instead of recalling her right away, Keiko gave her a sympathetic head pat and thanked her. The poor thing was just worried about her trainer, which made perfect sense to her. She didn't let Audrey stay out of her ball for much longer, however.

Keiko was taken back significantly when she saw her daughter in front of her, emanating a combination of Ghost-type and Fairy-type energy. Since the youth was standing in front of her for fear of a retaliation to Keiko's previous Hyper Beam, Keiko couldn't see how Mimikyuu was covering her eyes with her energy, but she could feel the energy Mimikyuu was using to protect her with. She didn't have time to admire it, however, as Ulla was knocked back and Mimikyuu's energy dispersed. Before she could ask, a loud 'no' forced her to hold her ears. She then turned to where S-22 used to be, but the augmented hybrid was gone by that point.

Realizing that Ein was potentially unguarded without S-22, Keiko forced herself to her feet, using her unbroken arm for leverage as she couldn't move the other. She then checked Ulla's pulse to make sure she was still alive. As much as she wanted to go after Ein right now, Her maternal instincts told her to make sure Ulla could take care of herself before going anywhere, so Keiko stayed by the Fairy Channeler's side until she moved or said something.

Veronica tried to take a step forward but the debris of the open hole made her slightly stumble forward and freeze. She allowed a few more seconds to pass in order to adapt to the lighting of the Infernape's fire before taking a more careful step forward. "Last thing I need is a sprained ankle." She whispered to Chi. The Infernape kept moving forward when he suddenly turned to Veronica's side as he noticed Poe's darkness. Veronica smiled at Poe, his presence was so similar to her she felt more comfortable with him around. Chi decided to relax as Veronica did.

Eventually Veronica realized there was something odd about a wall that was pitch black. Upon closer inspection, it seemed more like a door. There was something about it that made it clear that no energy or power would get through it. Powering through it would not work, so she looked around for a handle.

Then there was the touchscreen beeming at the corner of her eye. Out of instinct, Veronica looked behind her to the tiny beams of light from the upper floor. There was an uproar going on, "I don't know if I should open this but..." She decided to finish talking out loud to Poe and Chi, "There could be nothing, or something very important worth spending my time on, or a monster - which by the sounds of it we can now take on or it doesn't even matter at this point. So... You wouldn't happen to know the password, Poe?" Veronica asked with her head tilted.

If he didn't, she planned to at least take a guess.

Ryan watches as S-22 just disappears. The channeler reaches out, given that S-22 was a part water hybrid, he should be able to sense him to some degree. But there was nothing. Ryan pushes out his range, further and further, but still nothing. How was their enemy just...gone?

Ryan stops and slides off Aysu and recalls her. But standing up on his own power was out of the question. He calls out Tank, his Swampert, to help him along with Undine, to get to his feet.

Channeler and his Pokemon slowly make their way over to Sub. "He's gone, Sub. And I am not talking just a distance away either. I ranged out several miles with my senses and S-22 just isn't there. It's...Not possible..." Ryan explains.

It was obvious the channeler was spent almost to the max. Sub should have heard the sloshing of the small amount of water left in his gourd. And even though Undine was next to her trainer, It was Tank who was shouldering the load, As the Primarina was rather spent herself. Ryan may not be any help from this point out.

As Cera and Dartrix entangled the cyborg sharpedo with their respective Grass Knot attacks, I could only watch at this point, hoping Reno would hurry up and get done whatever it was he could get done. That wasn't going to keep him forever. But then...suddenly my instincts tripped and a sudden chill ran down my back. For a moment, I forgot my extreme anger that I had for this thing, or more specifically, for Ein when I felt this pressure. This extreme, ungodly pressure. It was...coming from...S-22? Wait, I can actually...sense him!? And his strength is still climbing to astronomical levels. What was this!? What did Reno do!? But before I could only contemplate, I perked up, hearing an attack call out of Ryan. "What the-RYAN, WAIT!"

It was too late. As S-22 swatted away Darts and shrugged off the Registeel, Ryan unshackled what remained of S-22's physical constraints with such a haphazard onslaught of what would have been otherwise brutal attacks. I quickly charged an ice beam, ready to blast S-22, although in the grand scheme of things it'd probably be ineffective, much to my surprise, S-22 left. Once again, I couldn't keep up with him by eyes alone. My senses could still pick him up as he left the tower, but it wouldn't be for very long. Farther and farther away until even that enormous pressure couldn't be registered any longer. I, at this point, couldn't even bring myself to ask what in the hell just happened just now. All I was concerned was that he was gone.

Silence loomed over the Snagems, until the audience which Ein set to watch in despair started cheering in joy. They...were saved, it seemed. But...despite the fact these people will live to see tomorrow, it still...felt real hollow. We lost so many of our own today in one fell swoop, and perhaps fifty times as many Pokemon who didn't deserve their fates. I lost a woman I wanted to spend the rest of my days with...and an adoptive son with what could have been the brightest of futures. They're gone. As Dartrix came down to check on me, I reached up and put my arms around him, just about burying my face in his grassy, feathery down. Relieved at least he's okay, but more so that I needed a moment. Dartrix understood regardless. Long story short, I want off this roller coaster of emotions.

Wait...no. Not yet. I lifted my head back up and shook my head. I couldn't grieve just yet. Ein was still around. Here, in this very tower, perhaps. I sat Dartrix down. "Thank you, Dartrix. I owe you a lot today. You have...honestly no idea. Return for now. I'll get back to you." With a nod, the Dartrix was returned to his ball. "Hey, uh...Cera?" I said, rather solemn. Cera would probably see, if not sense, that I'm barely holding myself together right now. "I know that I've been asking a lot today, but can you do me a favor? Try to see if you can't find someway to release these people. Though make sure that they're not rigged while you're at it. Don't need Ein getting any more of a laugh than what he's already gotten. I better go check up on Darts...he's been in Outrage far longer than he should have. Someone might need to finally put him out of his misery for the moment if he's still under the effects of it."

I walked off, making my way over towards Darts to check up on his condition. Probably worse than I am at this point, despite my wing reminding me that it really needed some attention right now and my insides feeling like they're wanting to tear me apart due to one too many Ancientpower attacks over the course of this entire mission.

Cera wasn't exactly thrilled to see Ryan's attempts at trying to pull his best Blizz impression not only fail, but wind up hitting nearly everything else. But almost as soon as that had happened, she heard S-22's voice loud and clear, noticing the eyes for all of a second before he sped out of the tower with such speed that she struggled to keep up with even the afterimages... to say nothing of sensing everything from him all at once. Catching up with him wasn't going to happen, and she wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. She thought about asking what had just happened, but figured it could wait when she heard Blizz. Even as the crowd cheered, slowly building up to a thunderous applause, the cost had been heavy. It didn't take a Psychic Pokemon- let alone a Mew- to notice how shaky everyone's emotions were. How shaky hers was, for that matter. Every face she could see had a similar story to them.

The scars from the battles just now, physical and mentally.

The tired, almost dull eyes from what had transpired.

Hurt was written with so much glowing, mental ink that even a Slowpoke would take notice of it in less than 5 seconds.

Sure, they had won here- they bested S-22 thanks to whatever the hell Reno had done. That alone was cause for celebration, if a bit prematurely since there was still Ein to deal with. In some respects, one could argue that Ein got the last laugh in a sense with how many had fallen in the process.

She remained lost in thought for a bit even after the request, looking again and giving a slight nod before trying to find what she could to release the audience and let them be a bit less literally captive. If only for a few moments, it'd give something to keep her mind off everything at best. At worst... well.

As she saw it, the worst had already happened.

SubonicXP

Oddly, though, Sub would suddenly hear a voice in his head... one that hadn't been heard in a few years now.
