Eileen laughed for a moment, "Take your time. We wouldn't want an unready improvisor play."
She leaned back, waiting for his reaction. Because, of course, jazz is about the soul, and you can't get soul by reading charts. The heads of charts were easy, it was...
The soloing that made Eileen swoon with delight, made her joyous, made her glee. And hopefully, Lee wouldn't make too big of a fool of himself.

Dru waved back to Griffin as he passed her, then she concentrated more on walking home. When she got hom she tossed her bag down the stairs and then heated up some nachos as a snack. Dru walked happily down the stairs to her bedroom and turned her music on as she sat down to eat her snack.
She looked at her watch to find that it was 6 o'clock, Griffin will be here in an hour, she thought frantically. Dru jumped up quickly and ran over to her wardrobe throwing open the doors. She quickly filed through the clothing items until she stopped on an outfit. It was a cute, pleated, denim, short skirt and and a middle-cut, black, halter top. She opted for her black boots to accompany this. Dru threw the outfit onto her bed and grabbed her pajamas as she raced up the stairs towards the bathroom. She decided just to dry and brush her hair down and go without make-up.

"Sure, this is my last class of the day. We can meet outside the coffee shop in the cafeteria, my daily coffee routine draws me there every day." Mel looked at the mess of textbooks now piled into her arms. "Say, not to sound incredibly old fashioned, but would you mind carrying a couple of my books for li'l ol' me?" She slipped into her southern belle imitation accent for a moment. "You can tell me on the way if it's something short." She gave one of her genuine smiles, which looked goofy in its sincerity.

**Great ********>** Jeeves swore to himself. He had gotten off work early and was in the shower. He stood under the showerhead feeling the spray of the water against his face and went over the conversation he'd had with his superiors. There was word of possible layoffs, and even worse: rumours that the whole company was doing much worse than the employees were aware. Damn... even the construction industry is full of greedy **

Lee studied the chart for a few minutes, "Aaah! I see!" He grinned slightly
He played through, getting into the flow of the song, picking up where he could drop a few extra notes in.
He grinned even more at the end, noticing there were a few bars that were plain blank. Aaah, Jazz solo. Ohwaitcrap, I wonder if they'd appreciate one of my solos... Wait, Jazz pentatonic scales!
His mind worked furiously fast as he started to play a solo, starting quite slowly, but building in speed untill it hit the same tempo as the rest of the song.
"Any good? Sounded too much like a heavy metal solo to me, but what did you think?"

((I swear, Belle. You look different everytime I come to post. 3nodding ))
The dashboard clock read 6:59 in dim neon green as Griffin pulled up in his mom's black Nissan Z. He rose out of the car and quickly checked his appearance in the sideview mirror. A nervous face stared back at him. He straightened his dark crimson shirt, brushed the ruffles out of his black jeans, and walked slowly up to the door. He brought his wrist back as he went to knock and hesitated. You look horrendous. Just leave! said a critical nobody. "No," he told himself quietly. "Tonight, she'll see me for me and nothing else." Let her draw her own conclusions, he finished in his head as he rapped lightly on the door. There was a doorbell, but he preferred knocking and didn't know why.
He took a deep breath in as he heard movement within. The door opened slowly, and Griffin's heart did a backflip in his chest as he saw Dru standing there. "You look gorgeous," he said quietly, and he offered his arm to Dru.

Dru looked at Griffin and then a smile emerged onto her face. She took Griffin's arm and walked out of the house, closing the door behind her. "Thankyou,"Dru said politely to his compliment,"You look good too." They walked down to his car and they both got in. "So, where are we off too?"Dru asked.

"Well," he said. "I was planning on going to that new cafe downtown, but I'd really rather go someplace more quiet and alone. Is that alright with you?" He looked at her and followed the strands of her hair down her shoulders. At that moment, as they climbed into the car, she was the most beautiful creation he had every seen.

"Yeah, ok."Dru said softly,"There's this place that I go to. It's both quiet and alone." She closed her car door and leaned back into its seats. It was so comfortable being here with him.

Fiona's calm eyes glanced at the clock. Her eyes wandered constantly, from the clock to toby, back to the clock, to the counter, to toby, and so on in an endless chain. Outside, she could see it was starting to get darker. It was getting late, and she had a job-search to do. Her brother, luckily, wasn't going to be home until late that night. She looked at an empty table near them. Seeing a newspaper, she took out the job section. "There must be something I can do legally! I need to help out as much as I can..." She hovered over the paper, for a minute forgetting Toby was there. Soon, her memory clicked. "Gah! Sorry... I'm being so rude. Raymond always says its bad to read at a the table when you're with company... I just thought I could find an ad... but no. I'm still too young... To help my older brother..." Her smile tugged awkwardly as she gave a frustrated sigh. She just wanted to help her brother. Now what could she do, thanks to these age restrictions? Sure, she could still clean; but, there had to be something more, didn't there?

Ani had spent nearly all of her classes on the roof, as was usual. As the final bell rang, she stalked through the halls, a pair of drumsticks sticking out of her back pocket, backpack slung over one shoulder carelessly.
The band room was occupied when she arrived, but she didn't notice until she walked in and looked up.
And then she tried to back out without being seen.
((Sorry I've been gone. >_> I was moving out and didn't have a stable internet connection, much less the time to get on it, until I got back to my parents house.))

"Alright," Griiffin said as he pulled away from the curb and drove off into the approaching darkness. "Just tell me how to get there from here." He sighed and tried to keep his focus on the road. He felt so drawn to the young woman in the seat beside him. He had barely known her for twenty four hours. How was it even possible? He didn't know the answer, but he didn't care. She was his and he was hers.

With a final glance of the clock, Fiona scurried to her feet. "I'm sorry." She said in a final proclaming voice. "But... I have to go home. My brother will worry and I need to do some job-searching... I need to help him. College and a job is too much for one person... Especially my brother who, along with that, has to take care of himself and his younger sister." She looked outside the window, realizing now she didn't even know where she was. She didn't venture around the area much, nor had she been paying attention on the way to where they now sat. "Now... if only I knew which way home was..."

Dru gave him the directions. Up this street, turn left, up that street and turn right. When they got to the right spot Dru led him quickly up the hill and stopped before the entrance to the cove. She quickly pulled the grass away from the entrance and pointed towards it. "Here it is,"Dru said softly. I am sorry Alex, she thought, but I know you wanted me to move on. Dru breathed in the air that rushed out of the small hollow as if it was the first time she had smelt it. A sense of happiness coursed through her.

Griffin smelled the dusty, grassy smell that erupted from within the cove. With the smell came a sensation of contentment. He gently put a hand on Dru's back and ushered her into the cove. Her back felt warm against his fingers as he folloed her inside. Physical contact was always his soft spot. He loved it. It was like an addiction.
