I'm sorry, Linny. sad

@Skrat: aretoo downloaded the Muppet Show, and has been watching Season 3 (at least partly to find out who the guest stars are). Liberace was one of the guest stars, leading to discussion of flamboyance, thusly to Elton John, also flamboyant, and then to Elton's visiting Tae's hometown, and Linny's, in concert. ^_^

Skrat=NOW IN THE LOOP. mrgreen

Eh... I'll live. I just... *closes mouth* ^_^

I'll just not say anything. How is the rest of Muppets going? Also, I wish I knew someone in Pittsburgh. There's a nifty NextStation, complete with accessories, that I'm drooling over on eBay.

I hope she doesn't get fined, Linny. sweatdrop

And aretoo: He's not visiting my hometown. He visiting the city nearest to my hometown, which is actually 2.5 hours away from it. x3

I hope so to, for the sake of me not having headaches keeping this house together once my dad leaves for overseas again. But at the same time, and the rest of my family, dad included, agrees with this, I hope she does so she can finally get it through her thick skull that what we say is actually correct and that she is not exempt from the workings of the law.

Is your father in the military, or is he just visiting overseas...?

The world was normal...
Aretoo, thank you for throwing me in the loop. Now I can go around and around and round and get really dizzy and eventually fall over. AWESOME!

Wait, there's a leaf burning ban in your hometown Linny?

...then Skrat came.

All non-recreational burning of materials is prohibited where I live, Skrat. I told my mom that and she blew me off, in addition to blowing off my dad and my sisters about the law.

@Tae: Nawww... He has a business to manage in the Philippines. I'm here to take care of my family while he's gone instead of going to school, in addition to paying off my last few thousand in last year's tuition. Mainly I'm here to keep things peaceful here, though I do still need to find a job after this graduate program assistant job falls through.

Ah, nifty. =D Does he travel a lot?

Mainly just from the Philippines through here. He essentially manages a shipping company in essence, taking care of the logistic processes of customers here to ship goods to their families in the Philippines. But it's annoying when he's not here because my mom listens to nobody except my dad, and she doesn't listen to him sometimes either.

I can see how that would be problematic. sweatdrop What kind of job are you looking for?

Preferably I want one to augment a very part time position I have at a coffee shop in Minneapolis, MN, starting this September. The problem is without car my hours are dependent on bus schedule. I wouldn't mind taking one of the bellhop positions and whatnot at some hotels in the cities, but the hours wouldn't work.

I'm alright with any job, really, as long as there is a clear list of my responsibilities and that I know I can do them (i.e. not impossible). I would prefer jobs in the education sector, but I know that won't happen without experience and without my license and degree. I could probably work at a Target near the coffee shop, mayhaps.

I am quite reliant on the bus schedule, too. Luckily, it runs from 5:30am to after midnight here, so that's convenient for a lot of jobs.

How are you enjoying the coffee shop?

I've actually been considering taking the necessary courses to become a piercer. It's kind of a whim, but I think it would be great. Probably not a lot of money, though.

I'd agree that it would be a great job, Tae. It's a very people job and generally the people you meet are varied and fun to talk to.

I think I'll be enjoying coffee shop work. I'm good friends with the owner (it's a small business, making it even better in my opinion) and I've helped do the cleaning regimen already at closing times (since I usually hang out there after school is done for the day). Coffee recipes don't seem too hard, and I've already been given the guidelines to make each and every recipe they serve. The only training I'll probably need is how to clean the actual equipment and how to prepare an espresso.

The bus schedule in the city is absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately, to get me back home, the last bus I can take is one that leaves at about 2000 hours. Buses to and from the suburbs are icky.

I worked in a coffee chain, and I enjoyed that, so I would imagine that working for a small business would be great.

And hey, obviously I'm a fan of coffee. =D

I've done so many different things, considering I have only worked since I was 17. x3

I really want to just get my necessary documentation in order and take off on an extended trip. I'm only an hour from the US border. I have no doubt it wouldn't work in reality, but it's nice to daydream about.

Yeah, I can imagine that would make it tricky to get home. =( I live about a 5 minute walk away from the city's biggest bus stop, so I can get to anywhere I need to go. sweatdrop

A trip is nice... As I've been telling aretoo I've been planning to head over to Oregon, among other places, for a while now, but it has never happened because of familial things.

*sighs* I do wish I could work a multitude of jobs. I love working because I feel a sense of satisfaction from it, and I love working with kids because I feel satisfied when my kids get something right or they learn how to work with each other and understand that people are different and it's okay to be different. But frankly I'm not the type to enjoy just one job.

Unfortunately, current society doesn't really need a jack of all trades. :3
