hehehe No trailer here... I prefer tent camping myself... and hiking in is terrific, too, when I actually have the time to break away for it! ^_^

Around here camping is less an excuse to pretend to be tailor trash and more of a way of making sure one has to a place to sleep while visiting various places.

The majority of people that I meet when camping are there to drink in the woods, and I'm not being poetic.
I know you were an Eagle Scout, aretoo, and I too prefer tents to trailers. Hell, I've even hiked in a couple times, but that was only because there was something I wanted to see and couldn't do it properly in a day.

Yeah, well, there ARE a lot of people who go to drink in the woods; to be perfectly honest, but I personally prefer nearly deserted campsites, i.e., the ones WITHOUT the drinking 'n' all. I love the woods, and being around a campfire, and some sort of lake or river or stream nearby, and... mrgreen

Sadly, I've only ever been -camping- once. Whenever I'm dragged with one of my friends, we stay in their trailer. Tent please.

Well, when you turn 18 I'll just have to take you. We'll find a nice secluded spot in the woods where you can't hear anyone for miles. biggrin
