The bronze kreeled in his throat, even on the ground in the hands of healers, who quickly patched up the worst of the damage and sent both rider and dragon back up into the air. Still, it wouldn't keep him from fighting.

He was perfectly capable of flaming and mourning at the same time.

Dragon and rider had just gotten hit - hard. Phaedrath let out a yelp of pain and Alosha was not going to risk it this close to the end - not after they'd just lost another green.

But Altoth's eyes had lost their yellow, now only swirling between shades of grey and white towards where their wingmate had last been. Her sister. A sibling. One of Ours.

The two were suddenly blown off course, and despite the attempts to help from their wingmates, the two fought against it, Altoth soon gave up. Oh, she just wanted to go home and be sad there and she hated fighting thread and everything was so bad....

As the two betweened back too close to a clump of thread, the dragon hissing as he blinked back away with minimal damage.

It was perhaps shameful to have to retreat at the end, but Alosha was not going to let her Phaedrath take more damage than needed. The two landed gently into the sand of the bowl, and Alosha left to beckon over a healer.

It seemed like it was going to take a while before they were done patching her up. But she was determined they'd END in the air.

There was a definite burn at this point, but Dormith was going to stay up despite his exhaustion. W'dre patted his shoulder as they continued to flame. They'd done a lot more twisting and dexterous maneuvers than the dragon usually had in him, so it was no surprise he was a little more tired than usual.

But rest would come soon. Just a bit more.

Now back in the ranks (and not landing right on top of thread), Cordrath's keening died off in exchange for fire and flames with prejudice. He would not allow any of this thread near his children! Near his Susurinth!

And as the winds changed, near his M'nr! The bronze blinked away in an instant, avoiding the clump of thread that had drawn too close and roaring challenge at it. How dare!

Phaedrath was feeling anxious about being on the ground, staring upwards as the healer continued to look her over. "I've gotten the worst of it patched up. Come back quickly," the healer informed Alosha, who was already in her straps, the dragon halfway to her feet. The young woman nodded firmly at the request, and then both were up-up-up again.

The blinked back into formation, and flame came easily. She would end this on a strong note. There would be no more thread getting past this green.
