Arcanas the Barret .50 cal is meh...I'm all about the bolt action rifles myself M40A4, and the R700 Bolt action rifles are nice, I just pulled up that picture as an example. I agree on the M40A4. Not so much on the R700... Seems like a reload time on it would be atrocious and it would leaving yourself open for even a few seconds after the first shot is enough to get you killed. Once you give away your location, you have to be able to shoot again, or get the hell out of there... I suppose that would follow suit for any rifle though, as once you make your first shot and give away your location, the smartest thing to do is move to a new vantage point.

I had a hard time loading pages for a minute there, Sanzo.
@Pan — It's hard to tell where shots are coming from, though. You can gauge the direction to a degree, but unless you're using tracers (a very bad idea) you can't pinpoint it with just one shot. Or even several, for that matter. Throw in that after the first shot you'd be scrambling to find cover of some sort and you have an impossible situation.
I could be wrong, though. I've never been in a sniper's position or under their fire. Just in the woods with crazy Hmong immigrants that are used to shooting at anything that moves other hunters.
