SubonicXP As Mega Gardevoir slumbered so gracefully the Shadow Ball would slam into it, causing the Mega Pokemon to be knocked off its feet and tumbled to the ground, still out cold. It was almost humiliating to see such a graceful and powerful Pokemon be knocked around in such a demeaning manner. "Monsieur really knows how to take the wind out of one's sails." Diantha laughed as she watched her Pokemon continue to sleep. It wasn't going to get up for now. (1, wake up. 2, sleep. Will edit for content.)
Even Telia was shocked that she managed to get away from that one. She was still out. She almost couldn't believe it. She might could do this.
On my end however, it was hard to tell what kind of damage Telia was dealing. Sure, by all means, it would rock another Gardevoir's world, but this is a Mega we're talking about. "Telia, try it again! Another Shadow Ball!" I called out.
"GardeVOIR!" Telia formed another black mass, jumping back and firing another shot of her caliber towards the Mega evolved Pokemon. If that thing did wake up suddenly, she didn't want to be anywhere near it. |

SubonicXP The Shadow Ball would whizz towards the Mega Gardevoir like before but this time was slightly different as this time Diantha gave a command. "Shadow Ball!" She cried out. The Shadow Ball would still hit the Mega Gardevoir except this time when it hit the Mega Pokemon's eyes immediately flung open and a single hand would quickly dart out towards Telia and quickly fire off a retaliatory Shadow Ball. The Mega Gardevoir seemed -really- unhappy about being woke up in such away too.
"VOIR!?"
"Telia!"
The Mega Gardevoir would be deadly precise on its mark, catching Telia with its furious attack. Telia was helplessly blasted by the attack and once again hitting the ground with furious force, eventually skidding to a hard stop. Only this time, there was no getting up. I looked towards the Mega Gardevoir, trying to assess the damage that Telia managed. She looks roughed up, sure...but it's severely hard to tell the extent of the damage with such power just exuding off of that Pokemon. This was different than the Mega evolved Pokemon that my team faced before...perhaps the benefits of being trained by a champion.
"You tried, Telia. That's all I could ask. Thanks. Return." I said, recalling the fallen Gardevoir back to her ball. I stashed the ball then finally took out my final one. Telia got us started, hopefully Weavile can finish it before Diantha and that Gardevoir gets cheeky. "Weavile! Go!" I called out, tossing out the ball. It was practically the last stand, now.
The ball popped open and out came Weavile. "Weavile!" Weavile hissed out, claws out and ready for battle. Weavile stared down the Mega Gardevoir before him, eyes narrowing. It didn't take long to realize that this was just another Mega evolved Pokemon...and to him, one that needed to be knocked down a peg or two.
"Alright, Weavile, our back's against the wall. You got this? Telia tried to get something started but well...we still got a powerhouse in front of us." I asked.
"Weavile!" he replied.
He might be ready, sure, but now I'm left to question what to do. I'm not sure what perks comes with a Gardevoir's Mega Evolution, to be honest, other than ungodly assault power. I've kept Telia at a distance all I could, only for it to not even matter in the end, so I have no idea what kind of resistances or what defensive prowess that it could possibly have up close and personal, which was Weavile's forte. I wasn't going to be able to make her pay for any physical attacks given that Gardevoirs are generally specialists of sorts, so getting Weavile to use Counter is already out of the question. First thing's first...getting Weavile in that Gardevoir's face.
"Weavile! Feint Attack!" I called out.
"Weavile!" Weavile rushed for the Gardevoir, moving about the battlefield with great speed, then quickly rushes around the Mega Gardevoir to strike, swiping hard with its claws. |

As soon as Weavile made contact, his ears, let alone his whole body felt the largest shock of his life as the massive sound blew away Weavile, virtually effortlessly, blasting Weavile down the field, getting carried by the shrill. "Weavile!" Weavile hit the ground hard after getting blasted back...but there was something even more jarring. Weavile...wasn't moving.
"Weavile? Weavile!?" I couldn't get anything out of him, not even a reaction. I couldn't sense much from him either. I quickly ran out onto the field, and rushed for him, getting right next to him to check on him, picking him up off the ground. He was out cold, a face frozen with of agony, yet seemingly soulless, glassed over eyes. I've seen Weavile take a beating, but to THIS extent!? That fast!? But how!? Hyper Voice couldn't have done THAT extensive of damage, could it? Mega or not! Hell, not even a Exploud could cause that kind of power. I then perked up, now that I was at ground zero, looking down the trail...something residual. Something akin...to Fairy types? Hyper Voice isn't a fairy attack...is it? No, no way in hell, last I checked it was Normal, but...what depths does a Gardevoir go when they achieve mega status. What just happened to Weavile?
Regardless, if I liked it or not, that Mega Gardevoir laid to waste both Telia and Weavile nigh-effortlessly. In a way, I almost felt ashamed of myself...I probably shouldn't. My entire team tried their very hardest and for a time we actually were beating her. But then...the wall that very few probably surmounted. "God, Weavile, I'm so sorry..." I said, picking my Weavile up and holding it close. He wouldn't respond, couldn't even if he wanted to. "Lady Diantha, I believe this battle is yours."

"You battled tremendously, Duke Blizzard. I can see why the Kalosian people look up to you. I am almost jealous, your following has begun to rival mine. Even in defeat I'm sure your following grow further, especially considering this entire battle was recorded." She said to Blizzard, leaning in close to whisper the last part as she motioned her head towards a hedge.
Sure enough, Blizzard would spot the glimmer of a camera lens and now that he was focusing on that area he could sense a presence there. He would probably have a hunch already on who had the battle recorded.
"And so, brave and noble hybrid! While you were unable to defeat I, Lady Diantha, I shall grant your request!" Diantha said loudly, obviously playing it up for the cameras. "A powerful trainer such as yourself deserves access to Kiloude City so that you may further yourself as a trainer as you battle the best trainers from Kalos and beyond at the exclusive resort city. Qui n’avance pas, recule. He who does not move forward, recedes. So continue to move forward in Kiloude City, Duke Blizzard, and come to me again one day and challenge me for the championship. I would be honored to pass the torch to you." Diantha knew good and well what she was doing. |

I gave a sigh to myself, looking at the Pokeball that contained my fallen Weavile. As good of a battle that was, it still put things into perspective about how far I had to go with my own Pokemon. Not to mention, there were a few things that weren't gelling too well for my liking as well. Feelings I'd keep to myself for later. I completed my objective here. I best head on out of here before anything else transpires.
I stashed my Pokemon and made my way to leave the mansion. Wikstrom would soon get some company. |

SubonicXP "Hey, loser, your defeat was streamed live all over Kalos via Holocaster." GRAY suddenly spoke up. "I mean, you did achieve your objective but at the same time you did lose the battle. What do I call you? Half-loser? I guess that works. Any way, where you going now? Going to vacation among the rich and famous?"

"Whatever helps you sleep at night." GRAY replied. "Either way, if you're going to Kiloude City you'll have to board the TMV in Lumiose City, it'll take you to Kiloude City. Speaking of I just realized that you don't have a pass. She must have forgotten to give you one, humans." The last part GRAY said with disgust.
"Duke Blizzard?" A woman called out from behind the door to Blizzard's private room, the maid knocking before she opened it up and poked her head inside. "Lady Diantha wanted to give you this, I'll set it down on the table right here." The maid would then place a pink envelope on the table and promptly shutting the door, leaving as quick as she did.
As if GRAY had summoned it by speaking of it the envelope would contain the needed TMV Pass and a letter from Diantha.
Dear Duke Blizzard,
Forgive my handwriting but I wrote this as quick as possible so that you would receive it before you left. As you know there are still nefarious plans in play in Kalos, more importantly ones with you at their center. When you meet with Wikstrom ask him about Malva, that's all I feel safe to say in this letter. If you would, dispose of this properly once you read it.

Ask about Malva, she said. Really, all in all, even she is aware that something is amiss within Kalos...though, I'm left to wonder if she knows what exactly what I am out for. Considering that she told me to inquire about Malva, there's a safe bet she does. Crazier still, if she is in the know about it, then it left me to question if I should still put on the 'noble hybrid' act like I have been. I probably should. Even Diantha herself stated that there are those in this region who looks towards me now for that ray of hope. God...what have I enacted here?

The TMV was located in Lumiose Station in Lumiose City, not too far of a distance from where the Battle Chateau was but Blizzard would probably prefer to teleport to the city. Whether or not he did he would find himself in the jam packed bustling city of Lumiose, tourists and people in general galore. |
