Amroth had let out a happy trumpet, letting his confidence and sunny disposition go out towards his wingmates. Perhaps it was this reason that when the wind changed direction Amroth was nor prepared for it. The poor dragon tried to stop it but his wings ached and he allowed himself to be taken out of the formation, even though he heard the warning calls from his fellows.

D'cimus, for his part, did his best to push what he could towards Amroth, feeling how the blue's wings strained from fighting this harsh wind. D'mon truly hadn't been lying about how bad it was up here.

Round1
[1]A large swath of Thread heads your way! Roll a D4 to see what happens! D4: If you're a blue 30' or over, brown, or bronze, you're able to catch the sheet with a long burst of flame! +2 Flame Length
[2]Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, but your dragon is just too tired to care. The wind is too much! Moderate Damage -5HP Your dragon also now suffers Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled rounds your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those rounds is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect, Guilt, Bitten Tongue, etc.) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.)

[Roll 2/5]
[High Altitude]

As thread made contact with the bronze's back, Dormith rumbled in displeasure, red swirling through his eyes as he blinked away and then back again. It doesn't look bad! W'dre assured his dragon, twisting in his straps to check. The bundle had crumbled away and the burn wasn't growing at all.

Keep an eye on it! the bronze reminded anyways, though he already knew that his rider wouldn't have let him down.

Still, with thread falling everywhere, Dormith's upset rose within him, bellowing out flames to take some of it down in retribution for the burn upon his hide! It was absolutely unacceptable!

[Mid Altitude]

A slightly singed tail aside, the two were doing remarkably well for what was considered their 'blooding'. M'nr scanned the skies above them as Cordrath did a sweeping check of their immediate area -

I'm moving Cordrath warned as he suddenly pulled his wings in close and dove, allowing M'nr the time he needed to readjust in his straps to accomodate the movement. He spotted quickly the reflective thread that his bronze dove at, spewing flames and reducing it to dust in short order.

Looking good, Cordrath. M'nr praised.

Everyone seemed in order, much to V'kenti's relief and no one had any questions so as soon as they went Between and began to fight thread, a piece appeared right before them. Takarath was paying attention, of course, so they flamed it down easily. "Looks like we're getting right to it." V'kenti thought to Taka who acknowledged his statement before continuing his battle.

ASHLINGS WING
V'mel of Brown Aviroth
Round 1-2
Roll: 10 - You keep looking up, but nothing seems to be heading your way. Your neck is starting to object, but it doesn't matter. You must be ever vigilant, or so the saying goes. The Queen's Wing is an important position, but it sure can be boring... Part of you wishes you could be higher up, where all the action is. Part of you is grateful you're safer down here.
HP: 40/40

General Agility: 6
Between Accuracy: 7
Pain Resilience: 7
Instinct: 6
Luck: 6

Moving up and down, back and forth, mind always in multiple places....For a time at least, things were calm for V'mel. Perhaps not for all his weyrlings, but a number of them were still grounded for a round or two, some were amidst the golden protective wings of their queens. It was those flying more free that were more at risk. He watched in turn as this one went here, that one grabbed stone, that one flamed...A brief slip (a fine dodge, but an awkward situation with the straps) from his young bronze second, but nothing harmful. The pair soon had themselves looking fine and fit again, and he watched them watch the rest.

Olliah honestly couldn't believe Fianth had been wounded right out of the gate. She could feel her queen's pain, even as they flew well below the wings, but could also feel her dragon's determination. Do not fret, Mine. I'm all right. It's just a little pain. The queen tried to assure her rider, though through the link, Olliah knew Fianth was lying. It hurt...but they were not weak. They would press on.

Aresoth wasn't faltering, even as the wind in the lower altitude began to get rougher. The bronze was running on more and more adrenaline that his rider didn't know exactly where it was coming from, but he wasn't complaining. Bronzes' automatically had higher stamina then their chromatic counterparts and it seemed his dragon had tapped a deeper part of his well.

There was an electric current running through C'ryn, especially as it was obvious this Threadfall was going much better for those weyrlings flying with them.

They flew well. No surprise to the Wingleader, who knew the strengths and weaknesses of each of his riders. But Siloth congratulated them all with a burst of praise, a hint of pride swelling in the rider's hollow chest. As they surveyed the skies, a clump of thread was sent careening toward them by an unexpected gust of wind! Banking, Siloth went between, reappearing in the empty air above. The thread fell uselessly below them, and he bellowed his rage at it.

Low Alt Wing

They were well into the fall now, and their initial energy was wearing off. Ly'bur could feel that he was breathing harder. His own muscles were starting to ache from the strain of holding on in these high winds. The dragon's wing beats were spaced a bit apart now, instead of continual. On one such brief pause, a strong gust of wind filled the brown's wings.

Round 1: Day 1 Rolls
1. 9- Your dragon notices a sudden writhing stream of silver thread out of the corner of his or her eye. If a white, green, or blue, with surprising grace, they turn on a wingtip and manage to flame it to ash. You successfully flame it down. [+2 Target Accuracy] If a brown or bronze, you find yourself unable to dodge, and take a hit! [Minor Damage if Bronze - 1 HP // Moderate Damage if Brown - 3 HP]
2. 20- Something doesn't feel right. You wind up glancing over your shoulder just in time to see a small, silver strand drifting dangerously close to your dragon. Thankfully, your dragon shares your thoughts, and is able to blink Between and higher above their position, missing the strand, and saving yourself from a score. [+1 Instinct]
3. 13- Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]
4. 11- You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate! - USED
5. 14- Your dragon is starting to feel tired. This particular fight is wearing them down. A strong gust of winds tries to throw them out of their position. Roll a D4 to see what happens!

With as windy as it was, they were bound to be busier than normal with starting out on the low altitude. It also gave Takarath a chance to keep an eye on everyone, not just his wing. In doing so, he noticed a strand that had fallen through the upper altitudes. V'kenti gave the order to break formation and dive for it, right as Taka was about to flame, he had a split second to warn V'kenti before he rolled out of the way. A gust of wind pushed the pieces of thread right where they had previously occupied. "Hmm." V'kenti approved as Takarath flamed the piece before returning to the wing.

[Roll 2/5]
    8. Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]

Uridith felt a twinge of sympathetic pain as her golden sisters bore the pain of thread's assault. She tried her best to send reassuring, warming thoughts to them all, but she and Lestenna were one. They had to be strong, had to keep flaming and dodging, and be ready to catch a falling child (be it of her own or of the weyr) when the time came. With focus unburdened by the pain around them, centered entirely on doing their part, they nimbly scorched another bit of thread.

And then, a beat later, terror! From the corner of the gold's eye, she spotted a huge mass of thread falling...right at the back of her dear Thanoth! With a frankly vicious screech, the gold lunged forward, knocking the green somewhat roughly out of the way...and then snapping between, when instead the thread tangled around herself and over her back, over her own rider.

They reappeared a few moments later, the gold's shoulders dripping green, and her rider brushing frozen shards of thread from her ruined jacket.

It was rather worth it, the gold thought with bitter resolution, to see her already injured daughter go darting away after thread unharmed.

Things were going much better than they had the first time around. Maybe it was that they'd been surrounded by nerves for their blooding, or maybe it was fierce determination starting to flow through both dragon and rider's veins, but what should have made both feel as though they were tired, really just put the wind in their sails.

We still have some time to go, love! Ichta reminded, and Aurinkoth seemed to sigh with relief. Certainly they did, but it wouldn't be causing these two a problem yet!

Even though they had been able to keep their formation in spite of the wind it wasn't enough for them to dodge a large clump of thread that came right towards them. A'dras felt it connect with his left leg as well as his left side, draping over him like it was a sleeping child. Gareth's scream went out, echoing as the two disappeared between.

It wasn't long before they returned, the new Threadscore shinning across Gareth's back and shoulder. A'dras took a moment to break, working on assessing the situation of his wing before there was a hiss of pain. Some of the Thread had managed to actually get inside of his leathers and had already eaten through the clothing underneath. Gareth! Back! There was no time to send a message right away to the others, to his wingseconds. Gareth would take care of that when they were safe, though A'dras was not looking forward to this next part, even if it meant saving his life.

The bronze pair reappeared over the weyrbowl and landed with A'dras sliding easily out of his straps and moving towards the tent where everything was set up. The grimace was on his face as he felt the thread beginning to burrow into his skin. His jacket was removed and off, as well as the remains of his shirt just as he reached a healer and the tank of water beside a cot.

The Wingleader didn't wait for instructions, he had done this before and easily put his own body, once completely stripped of course, into the water.

Hurricane Wing, A'dras has Thread burrowed. He is currently being dunked and will return once it has taken care of and he has been cleared. Turn your queries to your Wingseconds!
