Candidate Heida -- HR -- she/her
To her immense relief, Heida watched the brown and bronze brothers cease their fighting. Not only that, but the two managed to Impress as well! She grinned as the two who had their lifemates now led them off the Sands, then she turned to Kedah. "Shard it all, I thought those two dragonets were going to kill each other!" she remarked, letting the joy of the moment permeate her thoughts.
Candidate Tarroi -- HR -- he/him
Tarroi found himself breathing a sigh of relief when the bronze and brown dragonets stopped fighting and Impressed. He had felt for sure they were going to fight to the death of one or both of them. Now that all that business was settled, maybe they could go back to having a nice, calm remaineder of the Hatching...
Candidate Trude -- Western -- she/her
As Trude watched, the two dragonets who were fighting finally stopped and wandered into the crowd of Candidates, stopping before two different robe-clad figures. Was that what Impression looked like? The girl wondered what it felt like to Impress a dragon -- it sure seemed to have a strong impact on the one young man who Impressed the bronze. Maybe she would feel that herself someday... Maybe today! Filled will new hope and optimism, Trude looked at the other eggs and hatchlings and resumed her happy thoughts with a smile.

Ilzerin and Brown Maestoth
For whatever reason, the bronze finally decided to Impress, effectively ending the fight, and yet the brown refused to give up. His injuries were clearly as serious as Ilzerin had hoped they wouldn't be, as he could do little more than crawl, leaving the sand behind him stained with ichor. While the brown had snubbed him from the start, he held the dragonet no ill will, and had only sympathy and concern for him, though he was sure the battered hatchling would not want his pity any more than he had wanted his compliments. But he watched and worried regardless, that worry spiking when the pale young dragon laid down his head. He wasn't...no. He couldn't possibly die.
His heart was in his throat, his nails digging into his palms as he clenched his fists, and then he heard the last thing in the world he had ever expected to hear, not from that dragon.
My... Ilzerin...
Am I... worthy of you... now?
Oh, you stupid dragon, was the snarling, snapping reply, but even as he thought the harsh words he was storming across the Sands to lift the brown from them. For his anger didn't stem from rejection, or disappointment, but the panic of someone who had just watched someone they loved do something life-threateningly stupid, and it was easier and more efficient to be pissed off than weepy and hysteric. You stupid ******** dragon. Ilzerin paid absolutely no attention to anything or anyone else on the Sands, assuming that anyone, dragon or human, between him and the Healers would get out of his way and fast.
"Save him," he demanded as he laid Maestoth - his Maestoth - down, not imperious but desperate, gray eyes wide with fear and hands curling into white-knuckled fists. If you want to be worthy, don't you dare die on me.
I wouldn't even...dream of failing... Mine.

Rahmsii - [he/him] - HR
When the blue hatchling finally moved away, he was thankful for the quick of the healer. His injuries deemed painful, but not life threatening he wasn’t fussed over for too long. He closed his eyes his injuries were poked and prodded. Claw marks deemed painful, but not terribly deep. The injury on his stomach throbbed, deeper breathes making it pull miserably. It’d ache, but it didn’t need threaded together - Rahmsii’s relief was visible. A quick patch job (and the promise to get it checked on again later), he was back on the sands.
Rahmsii let out a long, steeling breath, mindful of the shallow wound. Hatchings were not without risk. It was drilled into him sense he was searched. He could have easily died at the angry ends of claws for simply being in the way - for not being quick enough to cover delicate flesh. He couldn’t find it in him to blame the little dragon, simply a baby without direction. Sweet thing, may it find theirs and their rage cool.

Padding lightly over to the scene of the crime, the Santa dragonet surveyed it solemnly. My, what a mess you've both made, he remarked with clear concern. Not for the mess, but for the wreck that had been left of his brothers. He brushed his thoughts lightly, affectionately, along Argamath's and Maestoth's - to the former, supplying familial congeniality, and to the latter, a measure of his own will.
But Santa was not finished. He knew that there were those who needed a look over. So, he began to browse his way through the male Candidates. He remembered some of them, although he had not met hardly enough of them to form a true opinion of the lot. The dragonet paused, giving Kahbrohm a long, searching look... before moving on. No, not that one.

Tuelarua - HR Candidate, She/Her/Hers
As Ding Dong Blue stepped off of Miela, his wrath having been sated, Tuelarua gave a slight nod as he looked over the small gathered crowd. It somehow felt like she had been both assessed and passed over in one look, but it wouldn’t be any more blood on the sands in this little area. She turned back to Dhawsn, Rahmsii, and the crumpled form of Miela in the sand. “Come on, let’s --” The idle thoughts she had to try and wrangle her friends to the healers was thwarted by the.. Actual healers shuffling them off the sands.
Her wounds were mostly superficial, with one or two deeper furrows that needed bandaged. Her stomach, thankfully, was only lightly scraped, and she wasn’t in any true danger, and it wasn’t long before she was sent back out onto the hatching sands. Though she lingered, briefly, trying to spy where Dhawsn and Miela were being treated, she made her way back onto the sand -- and moved back to stand with Rahmsii. She looked him over, the quiet, wordless relief at her friend being alive and not currently laying on a cot as a pulpy mess was palpable, her shoulder very gently brushing his as she turned to look out at the clutch once more, surprised by both the impressions that had happened as well as more dragons having hatched.
-----------
Ahula - HR Candidate - She/Her
The fighting had died down, thankfully. Giving a sigh of relief that the fighting brothers had not only stopped, but impressed and were having their wounds seen to was a weight off Ahula’s mind. The blue who had torn into the candidates was also backing off and going back amongst his siblings. Good, good.

The little, quivering Snowman blue had remained still as the battle raged on. Zenobiath's gentle words offered him comfort, though he still thought himself quite unworthy of such attention. Were there not shinier Hatchlings for her to tend to? Would... Would he be in trouble for making much adieu out of (seemingly) nothing?
But it wasn't nothing.
This was the natural way.
The metallics ruled, and the rest fell into place according to their color. With a blue hide, he was in a better position than his green sisters, and yet... Even then, he could never think himself as anything great. He knew his place, and knew it well--and now he'd be scorned for taking up so much of his mother's time.
Oh! Life was hard. What was a poor blue to do?
Creeling, he finally looked up at his mother, eyes white. ...is the fighting finished, Mother? Should I go now and... and stop wasting your time? A part of him desperately wanted to bury himself beneath her hide, and cherish this moment but he couldn't be selfish, or risk the ire of the other metallics of the Weyr. Would anyone out there want him? There were still many bronze bothers out there and this little blue wasn't sure he wanted to risk having to face them. Or the possible-harsh judgment of the Candidates out there.

J’er of blue Cyliodath
J’er let a out a long, gusty breath. “They’re certainly taking after mom and dad?” It hadn’t been too long that he had been sitting in the stands watching the parents clutch hatching. The mug of klah in his hands long empty, and was white knuckled once or twice already. He wasn’t completely awake before the Hatching began, but color him as incredibly awake. Eyes peeled and bells on. What a curious thing, a dragon to be so born full of rage. Other’s ready to fight tooth and nail to prove themselves. It counted it a small, quiet blessing his Cyliodath had found him in the stands, decades past. “I’m awake now I promise.” He chuckled softly, shaking his head. His shoulder leaning heavily against Wa’ren.
Cyliodath tilted his head. He was warm against Caironairth, under heavy wings. Oh, bless them. Look they’re finding theirs.Your’s are out there little ones, just you see.’

Lelte / HR She/HerThough she would never say it, or even begin to think anything remotely negative... she was more than grateful when the two that had been fighting had finished by finding Theirs. It was now a little less tense, and she felt like perhaps she might move away from the overprotective shadow of her older brother.... Not that she wasn't glad that he cared enough to stand there in case something happened, but... she was strong enough to stand on her own. And she would like to get a little closer to the action, now that the action was less likely to get her mauled or killed. But she couldn't just leave without letting him know. 'I'm going to get a little closer.' She didn't wait for him to respond as she softened her words with a special smile just for him, and stepped out on her own. She would be fine, and so would he. Now to see what hatchlings were about and if she might somehow find the soul meant for her if they were indeed there... Tandry / HR He/HimAs difficult as it was for him, Tandry let Lelte step away. She was right after all. He couldn't hold her back or protect her forever. And besides, he should get out there to be seen instead of hiding. Taking a deep breath, he turned and walked in a different direction, but like Lelte, he wanted to be nearer.

Elibrie - she/her
Though she was still filled with awe and admiration, Elibrie was quickly learning that yes, all the stories and lessons were true in most every respect, and baby dragons could also be sharding terrifying if they wanted to be. No sooner had the blue from the Ding Dong egg begun his charge than she had buried her head against her sister, not wanting to see what happened. She knew that it couldn't be good, and she couldn't bear to watch. As a result, she would miss quite a few other goings-on, but she trusted that it was reasonably safe to take her eyes off the Sands, with Juhvek to watch out for them. He would say something if they needed to move, she knew.
"I'm fine," she murmurred in answer to the other girl standing with them, Nalacko, but was still unwilling to look.
