Tarin, Terran, Taryn, Taren, Teryn, Tarrin...there are a zillion ways to spell it. I don't like it overly much.

I've actually met 4-5 male Lorins (usually spelled "Loren"), but to be honest, other than you, I've never met either a Taeryn *or* a Skyler (though Cosmo's nephew in the comic strip Shoe is named Skyler) smile
The ones that always get me are the names that *started* with one gender or the other, and now are FIRMLY for the other gender. At this point in history. smile

Ashley, Taylor, Alexis, Shannon, Courtney, Kelly, Lesley...
Names like Jean and Jocelyn are male names in French, but Laurence is female. sweatdrop
I think Taeryn is ...not a common spelling. Thank god.

Are: Oh, you mean like Ashley! =o
And... I only know the one Terran and no Skylar's last I knew... I prefer the Taeryn spelling, though... Looks better? Sounds better? Something, just like it more...
And I really like the name Alexandria... it would be so cool >.< I could change my middle name to that and my initials would still be the same... Heh ^.^; *is a CAR*

I've never met any other male Skylers, and I've met several Taryn/Tarin/Tarens, but they were all girls.
No one ever knows how to spell my name (when they hear it) or pronounce it (when they read it). xp

But Tae is like "Thai" from Thailand. (You can thank my family for the lack of logic there...)

Huh... I'd been pronouncing it "tay". smile
The most interesting mis-spelling I ever got (which makes perfect sense, considering the root name) was "Lawren". I rather like that one... biggrin

"Sore wa kechappu desu ka?"The only SKylar I know is from that show Heroes. You know, that guy that cuts open people heads and then does something with their brains. It must be really disgusting cause they never show it. I'm curious as to if he eats it!
And my middle name is Laurence.
EDIT: And Terran is a race of humans in Starcraft "Iie, kore wa chi desu. Atashi no chi desu." Congrats to Chex for working out what the red text means! You win a cookie! mrgreen

Tay would make more sense. Being as interested in phonetics as I am, it does bug me that the spelling of my nickname makes absolutely no sense considering the pronunciation. xp
But like...I've been "Tai" since I was little and it's hard to just change something like that.
My last serious boyfriend would only call me Skyler. o_O
Laz: Nono, he's Silar. Or Siler or something like that.

Hmmm, I was with Are on the pronunciation >.<
And I get Cassi, Casey, Kasey, Kassi, Kassy, Cassy... All sorts of variations, half of which are for the wrong name =/ And least with Cassandra they get it right... Though then they screw up my last name gonk

My name often gets spelled Lori instead of Laurie. Laurie could be unisex, if short for Laurence.

"Sore wa kechappu desu ka?"I think I've got one of the least common variations of my name. There is Brandon, Brenden, Brendan, Brandan, Brendon(mine). They basically just like to change the vowels around as much as they can xd "Iie, kore wa chi desu. Atashi no chi desu." Congrats to Chex for working out what the red text means! You win a cookie!

Parents play around with letters too much when naming kids. D= That's why I ended up with a useless "e" in my middle name, and my brother's middle name is Leigh.
