Anyway, coroner.In the early nineties my dad had a job testing bombs. The first few years of my formal schooling I got to tell the other kids that. wink @Sanzo — You are most welcome. @Arc — Well, my car has been stalling out when it falls below 1K RPMs. I had assumed that it was the ECU and have finally gotten it into a shop that could reprogram it. What the mechanic told me, though, is that the plugs, wires and ignition coil were bad and causing too much resistance. Does that sound plausible?

yup, entirely plausible Tsuji.
Seeing as those are wear and tear parts, you'd replace those every 7k miles or so. First though, I'd try changing out the spark plug wires with new ones, the connections might have eroded away, even if there is no visible sign on the outside. Ignition coils aren't cheap, so I'd try the plugs and wires first before that.
