@Ky Have you not been paying attention to the fact that I don't follow every little detail of the church? Not only that but considering how many Catholics I know who don't think the pope is infallible... Pride by the way makes me do things that I CAN by myself and ask for help from God only when I need it. I figure he's got more important things to do then help me pass a test or deal with a break up. I ask for help from Him when I'm having emotional trouble, not for mere trifles that everyone else asks for. And shoving your religion in people's face is annoying and pisses people off... as well as turning them AWAY from the religion.
@Agent what exactly is it that you honor? Like Christians honor God and worship him what about you guys?

You'll never convert me, Because I'm a stubborn ********, here's a thought. Why does the word of God need an editor? Surely it is the ultimate word, therefore needs no alterations at all, yet it's a well known fact that the church has taken chunks out and added other stuff in.
Anywho. There's in In Depth Discussion forum for a reason. Take your religious crusade over there and stay the ******** out of our fun threads, Kay?

Kyruia Omnileech Oh I don't know? How about when they started contradicting previous popes? Two people can't disagree and both be correct if they're both infallible. I should know better than to get into a debate with you, any time of day or night. But. What if new information came to light that was not available in the time of that previous pope which shed new light on a subject? Also as an aside, all popes are directly descended from St. Peter - which is to say that Benedict XVI did not succeed the papacy from John Paul II, but from St. Peter. Now, if you believe the Church to be a purely human organization that would be both illogical and impossible, but I do not, nor by any reasonable account should it be thought thereas - not even the Roman Empire lasted as long as the Church has, and it probably has had less problems! Therefore the papacy comes from St. Peter, a right given by God in Jesus Christ to him at Caesarea Philippi. So what right would one man have to contradict another who had prior handed him his rights? None indeed! But what if that man had not indeed been the one who gave that right at all? Nor has Rome ever revoked the infallibility of the pope. And what of the American constitution? The 21st amendment exists solely to repeal the 18th! So what then, do amendments cease to be? Are they no longer valid? I should think not, because we have continued to amend it. I do not, however, claim to know of the contradictions that you speak about, Omni. If you care to, I would love to see documentation of it. @Sanzo: Pride is the first and foremost cardinal sin from whence all others spring, and it implies an inflated idea of self and also a tendency to reject the help and grace of God because 'we can do it ourselves'. I also believe that he won't throw you out of heaven for that. Papal Infallibility. It is a dogma of the Church, a required belief for all who profess the faith. Information only. @Bass: "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15) How bout whether sex outside of marriage is immoral and contradictory to God's intentions? Several popes fathered illegitimate children after receiving holy ordersLust is bad after all, right? So that was all well and good right? How about whether communion should be done in latin? Indulgences, good or bad? Oh, and the constitution makes no claim of infallibility. In fact, the reason why we can change the constitution is because it is not perfect. To be infallible is to never be wrong. You don't get to make excuses of ignorance when you're simultaneously making the claim that they are never wrong. They're mutually exclusive.

Yeah, the reason the books we have in the bible are there and in that order is because some guys got together and voted on what's good and what's bad. I'd assume God wouldn't leave his word up to a vote.
