Aries then left the boy and crawled back down the stream to the ocean. She hoped the boy would be comfortable enough there and she would watch over that spot during the night to make sure nothing else tried to sleep there too. She was so happy to have finally met and spoken to a human she jumped and splashed about in the water playing.

Lucky_Tiger Driinex Raedell Laneir SilentShadowDreamer "I don't really know," Katalina said thoughtfully after a moment. "I was born out here, I think. I don't really remember; it's been a long time. I don't venture that far out, never more than two or three days' swimming, so I've just never run across any large groups." She shrugged. "I guess I could have joined up with some of the mermaids who came through on their way to somewhere else, but I just...didn't. Like I said, I don't get along with my own kind that well. I could just as well ask why you live out here on the cove, so far away from other humans. Was the problem with the oceans really the only reason?" Knowing that he was accepted, Logic moved closer to the group and listened with close attention. Apparently the sea serpent and mermaid were interested in the human world, as he was. Makai trilled a happy hello to everyone and swam around the group, very entergetic for some reason.Joshua shrugged. "The ocean issue was the main part. I couldn't stand to see the ocean hurt like that." A pained expression flashed across his face as he remembered the damage. "I also wanted to just explore the water, without everyone wanting to know what I found." He shrugged as if to say it's over and done with. Joshua closed the discussion of his past by pointedly turning to welcome a new sea person. Joshua smiled brightly in greeting. "Hello! I'm Joshua Ritchen. What's your name? And the dolphin's?" He watched Makai play around the group, Marie joining him. Coming up next to Makai, Marie nudged him and took off, trying to get him to play tag with her. Logic blushed and smiled. "I'm Logic. And that's Makai." he said, pointing at the swimming blur that raced off after Marie. "It's nice to meet a human and another mermaid and a serpant at the same time." he said, pulling himself up onto a rock and brushing his ebony hair out of his face.

Katalina's nod of greeting was lackluster at best, and she made no move to introduce herself at first. Even she didn't know what was up with her. The new merman hadn't done anything to deserve such a cool reception. Sorry. It's not your problem, it's me, she thought apologetically. Pushing herself to at least respond to his introduction, she said uncomfortably, "I'm Katalina. Nice to meet you."

Aries jumped out of the water, did a flip but instead of water, she hit something hard. It hurt her back. "Owwww..." She groaned then she opened her eyes and found she had landed in a small boat.

"Well it's nice to meet you Logic." Joshua looked at the two dolphins. "I'd say hi to him too but he seems to be having too much fun. Oh!" Joshua looked startled, then pointed at Marie. "Sorry! That's Marie. She's been my best friend for a while now." Marie ducked under the water, almost as soon as Joshua said her name. She popped up beside him, only to let out a squeak and swim away again.

Katalina had already lost interest in the introductions. Her eyes roved over the water, tuning out until someone said something interesting. Her gaze was caught by something surfacing, closer to the dolphins. "What's that?" she asked aloud, looking closer.

"Hm?" Joshua turned to look at Katalina. "What's what?" He tried to follow her gaze, so as to see what she was looking at.

"I am Kal."Kal introduced himself to the merman. He heard what Katalina said and turned to look. "I don't know. Want me to go check it out?"he said diving under ad resurfacing a few feet away in his serpent form. This time he was a lot bigger than before.

Logic did a strange thing then. It looked as if he shrank a little, or as if his already milky white skin paled. "I-I don't know." he muttered, slipping back into the water. Makai stopped swimming and let out a squeak of a question. Logic answered back. "I just got a bad feeling, alright?" His voice shook a little.

"That thing," Katalina pointed. "There, over where the dolphins were." She blinked at Joshua, truly surprised. "Don't you see it?" She could, easily. A very definite dark shape in the water. If only the sun hadn't been behind it, she thought irritatedly, she would have been able to see what it was, too. "I guess," she told Kal. "Why not?"

Now that Katalina pointed it out, Joshua could see a dark spot on the water. He looked back, noticing how Logic was acting. "Logic? Are you okay? What do you have a bad feeling about?" Joshua looked concerned. He didn't think there was anything to fear in this cove, but then again, he hadn't know about the merfolk or the sea serpent either.
