{I has teh blawk. What shall I do? 1. Have Justine wake up and try to clarify things, leading to a highly improbable happy/bittersweet ending? 2. Have gramps be an intolerable douche. (aka CHANGE NOTHING.) 3. Have gramps see reason eventually, but still keep Justine unconcious?}

Justine was just waking up to the scene before her. Groaning slightly, she asked, "What's...what's going on...? Why are you two fighting right here and now?" She spoke almost as if she were half-asleep, barely aware of the situation at hand. More than likely, this was probably the case.

"I've got a cross in my face and this old fool won't listen to a thing I say! You're lucky I have some restraint or I would have sucked him dry and be done with it. I still haven't been properly fed you know." Raphael said still shielding himself from the holy relic.

"Oh give it a rest, will you Grandfather? We can all be civil about this, like proper adults." Justine sounded rather annoyed as she tried to get herself up, having perhaps a little difficulty as she tried to do so. Nevertheless, she soon ended up between the two - snatching the cross from her grandfather's hands and tucking it away somewhere unseen. "Grandfather, forgive my disrespect, but you are taking this way too far!" After that, she began her attempt at explaining things as best as she could to her Grandfather. He seemed unreceptive of her words, yet grumbled about slaying the wretched beast another day as he stormed off - perhaps taking an entirely different path towards his home.
{Sorry for the crap post.}

No longer feeling the radiating waves of pain of having a cross aimed at him, Raphael lowered his arm. "I'm not sure if that went better than expected or worse..." he grumbled. "I suppose I should at least be thankful he didn't try to stake me again. I probably still have a scar from the last wooden pole he plunged into my chest." he said placing a hand over his chest while he recalled his previous encounter with the man. "Though that makes another debt I owe you." he said with a small smile. "...But first, dinner." he said turning towards the town. "And don't worry, when I'm hungry enough to kill I try to restrict my prey to the lowest criminals possible or those in need of a good merciful kill. Otherwise I can just take a small drink from someone's neck here and there without any ill effects other than some slight dizziness, as you've been experiencing."

Justine smiled back at Raphael, pleased to have at least settled the situation for the moment being. She offered a small nod in understanding once he excused himself to go satisfy his thirst. "Regardless, I hope I'll see you again later." she spoke up before heading in another direction entirely, perhaps looking for a decent place to stay.

Some time later Raphael found himself leaning against the wall in a dank back alley. A pretty young woman had just run off and a brutish man lay dead at Raphael's feet with a pair of small holes in his neck. "Euch...People like you taste the absolute worst; hardly the feast I was looking to have after so long..." he said to himself as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand while staring coldly down at the drained corpse. "A stray dog or woodland creature would have been more appetizing." he said to himself as he walked off. He could still smell the lingering traces of Justine's blood hanging in the air. He'd taken quite a bit from her and she still hadn't gotten that wound bandaged up. "That woman was a horrible influence me..." he grumbled as he grudgingly went to find Justine.

Justine eventually took the time to stop and bandage her wound, using a spare ribbon she had about to do so. It was disappointing, to have to stain the ribbon with blood before ever having the chance to wear it. Still, it was the best she could do for the moment being. After that, she wandered about aimlessly for awhile longer before eventually renting a room at the cheapest inn she could find.
{Quick random question - would it be totally awesome or a total waste of time for me to provide pictures and a soundtrack* for a Victorian Horror RP I'm working on?
*the soundtrack itself mostly so I can share awesome, obscure video game music and give a good feel for the surroundings. This is obvious, of course.}

((Lol, I see no problem with ambience.))
"I suppose I should be thankful you didn't pass out in the street." Raphael had tracked her down and was now hanging upside down from the balcony above to poke his head down into view from Justine's window, cape wrapped around him and everything. "You do realize they have healers here, correct? A bandage would be much nicer than soiling your ribbon."

{Thank you~ ^.^}
Justine looked up to Raphael, letting out a smal chuckle once she was able to process what he said. "Of that I have no doubt. I just don't know whether I can afford it or not. I sort of...erm...spent most of it when I bot those outfits." she admitted, a little embarassed by the fact. "I spent what was left on this room, so that I wouldn't have to sleep out in the woods tonight."

"One of those outfits was only to please my tastes, buying it was hardly necessary." Raphael told her. "You're feeling better, I hope? I tried to restrain myself to only taking enough to allow for rational thought, so I hope I didn't leave you too winded before..."

"I had no idea that you would be released as early as you have. It sucks being stuck somewhere, helpless and unable to do as you would with yourself, doesn't it? It wasn't unecessary if it helped make things more comfortable, at least for a little bit." Justine let out a small giggle, now sitting herself up from her bed. "Yes, I'm feeling better. Don't worry so much about me, okay? I'm stronger than I look~" Says the girl who fainted from anemia a few hours prior.

"I'm still in your debt though." Raphael pointed out. "Twice now, actually. I owe you one for risking yourself and helping me become revived, and once more for getting your grandfather off my back, at least for now." he said with a slight sigh. "Now are you going to let me in or not?" he said tapping on what seemed like an invisible wall in the frame of the open window. "I can't enter without an invitation, and I don't have anywhere else to go at the moment."

"Oh!" Justine nearly jumped at the realization, rather embarassed at herself for her lack of manners regarding her friend. "By all means, please, come in!" she motioned for Raphael to enter the room at his leisure.
