Finally Tamami reigned in Wuth's rage, getting him to focus on the task at hand. Later they would mourn, now they would fight. The blue focused on a huge sheet of Thread before them and flamed down almost all of it with one go, twisting out of the way of the huge ash cloud to avoid getting singed.

4. Nothing to flame quite yet, which is almost a miracle in this sort of Threadfall. Still, you're able to relax a moment, look around, and take note of your airspace. All's well... for now.
On the duo flew, keeping an eye out for Thread, but none seemed to be falling in their area. Wuth was breathing heavily but only due to the emotions raging within him. Tamami knew he'd have energy through the rest of the battle, but that when they returned to the ground he'd need to take out his rage on a herdbeast lest he grow restless.

3. As you fight against a strong gust of wind, you feel something pull! Uh-oh. There's a pain in your wing muscle that hadn't been there before. This isn't good, especially this high up! Still, your dragon fights on.
Battling the wind was always a bit of trouble, but Wuth was strong. He powered into the gust with a snaggle-toothed snarl, pushing a bit too hard and pulling something in his wing. His speed flagged a bit and they dropped a few dozen feet as he recovered from the twinge of pain before slowly returning to formation.
Burning Aces Wing Ly’bur of Brown Hinburath HP: 19/34 Status Effect: Fatigue Effect x3
XP: Target Accuracy: 10 Flame Length: 10 General Stamina: 10 General Agility: 8 Between Accuracy: 10 Pain Resilience: 7 (+1) Instinct: 10 Luck: 8 Training at HRW for past 2 Turns (+6 xp to all), +5 to distribute
Hinburath turned to get a small piece of firestone then dove back into the fray. Except the fray came to him in the form of a mighty wind. The brown 'stumbled' as he felt pain flare in one of his wings. Easy there old boy.I will be alright. He reassured his rider.
Hour 1; Round 2 Rolls
1. 3- As you fight against a strong gust of wind, you feel something pull! Uh-oh. There's a pain in your wing muscle that hadn't been there before. This isn't good, especially this high up! Still, your dragon fights on. If this is the third time you roll this and you haven't returned to the Weyr for attention your wings cramp up, and you find yourself going down! The wind is just too much, and the pain too great. You pushed yourself too hard, and now you're really in trouble! Post this! (second time) 2. 3. 4. 5.
Tamami and blue Wuth First Wave - Hour 2 Round 1 HP: 11/30 Status: Roll 5/5 Target Accuracy: 6 Flame Length: 6 General Stamina: 9 General Agility: 6 Between Accuracy: 6 Pain Resilience: 8 Instinct: 6 Luck: 6 +1
9. The wind is strong and trying hard to buffet you. If a green or blue you find yourself struggling against the wind. The wind is powerful this high up, and you have to struggle to keep in your airspace. Unfortunately, a strong gust blows through, and you find yourself blown right into a clump of Thread! Moderate Damage -4 HP
The wind came again and Wuth tried to fly into it again, but his wing was still twinging with pain. It blew him and Tamami directly into a sheet of thread, drawing an ear-shattering bellow from the blue before they jumped Between. They returned Thread-free a few moments later, aching and stinging but otherwise all right.
Burning Aces Wing Ly’bur of Brown Hinburath HP: 19/34 Status Effect: Fatigue Effect x2

Except he wasn't ok. Hinburath didn't realize just how tired he was until his wingmates called warning. He found himself well out of formation. The brown was about to get himself back into place when his rider called him off. That's enough. Let's go rest a little bit. Hinburath nodded and made the jump back to the weyr. He had some wounds he'd like patched up.

(second time) 2. 15- Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, but your dragon is just too tired to care. The wind is too much! Moderate Damage -5HP Your dragon also now suffers Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. They got back just in the nick of time. For nothing. Hinburath rumbled his discontent as his airspace was cleared of all Thread. Ly'bur slapped his shoulder. Don't worry, it'll be back soon enough.

Return Request Denied! You don't regain any HP! Re-roll from the Healer's Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return! 4. 96- You're in luck! The wound isn't as bad as first feared. They're able to see to you almost immediately, and are able to quickly get you patched up and on your way. The Weyrhealers are effective and quite efficient! You May Return to Your Wing! Burning Aces Wing Banashe of Brown Severith HP: 38-12= 26/38 Status Effect:
XP: Target Accuracy: +7 Flame Length: +7 General Stamina: +7 General Agility: +6 Between Accuracy: +7 Pain Resilience: +6 Instinct: +7 Luck: +6
Banashe and her one-eyed brown had been doing well so far. She had initially been worried that he would be hindered, but their training had paid off. The brown suddenly added his keen to the other dragons. A dragon and rider had been lost! Who? It is Thella and Lireloth from Trespassers. While she felt bad for the loss she was glad it wasn't from her own wing.
Perhaps they weren't paying as close attention after that because a long strand of Thread suddenly found them. Severith roared in pain as it hit his right shoulder and back, right across his rider's side and leg. They jumped Between quickly. Coming back, Banashe thought all of it had died until she felt it in her riding gear. Some of it had been protected by her clothes!
They took another quick jump back to the weyrbowl.
Hour 1; Round 2 Rolls
1. 8- You take a direct hit from Thread! The question is, where!? Roll a D4 4. Thread hits your leg and side, as well as your dragon's back and shoulders. Though you immediately jump between, some of the Thread is partially protected by your riding gear. As you return from its cold, and continue on the fight, it takes a moment to realize the wriggling Thread has eaten through your clothes, and is starting to burrow into you!!! GET BACK BETWEEN AND BACK TO THE WEYR TO BE DUNKED! Major Damage: -12 HP Your next post must be with the healers so you can get dunked into the pools, in hopes of drowning the borrowing Thread. Death is also an option. 2. 3. 4. 5.
As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation!
If less than 22 feet, you get blown out of formation, but are agile enough to avoid getting hit with Thread. Hurry now -- better make it back before your Wingleader scolds you!
The wind was perhaps more of an enemy this high up than the Thread itself. Another gust, and Cythereath was, unfortunately, thrown right out of formation. Thankfully, the lithe green was able to weave and twist, somehow managing to avoid catching any Thread that was blown around as well.
Though Ce'rian encouraged her back into formation--he couldn't help but be proud. Any less agile a dragon would have surely been scored.

As they continued to fight, the little green was once again tossed aside by a large, and sudden gust, of wind. For a second time in less than a candlemark, they were far from where they were supposed to be... but Cythereath had managed to avoid getting scored once more.
The little green was more than pleased. Did any of her handsome wingmates notice? Probably not... but she certainly would have liked them to!

Ouch! You had successfully flamed Thread but the gust push the ash back into you as you fly! The hot ash cloud burns as you fly through it, but you're made of tougher stuff than that! The focus is Thread, not pain! [+2 Pain Resilience]
Turning on wingtip, the petite green spit a long, tongue of flame at a clump of Thread. Just as she dove past, the wind changed, and threw the ash back against her. Ouch! Though she bared a little fang as she dove past, she focused on taking out her offense on a larger tangle.
Take that! Her hide was too pristine to be burned, thankyouvermuch./

Severith's eyes whirled red as a clump of his foe fell before him. Despite his intentions to flame it to ash, the wind had other ideas. The brown roared as he was pushed away from his target. Banashe grinned. They hopped Between right into perfect position and watched in satisfaction as the Thread withered. Good job!

his is such a mess! Thread is everywhere. The High Altitude Wing is always in the thick of it, and today is no exception.
f you are a green, or blue smaller than 30' you're easily able twist and wheel out of the way of the thick clumps. Instead, you're able to flame down a patch of Thread threatening your wingmates, and what a burst of flame it is! Quote a Wingmate who took Thread Damage and nullify it for this Round! +2 Flame Length
Once again, the young green was putting on nothing short of a brilliant show. Her smaller size and agility allowed her to avoid potential devastation. With how heavy things were this high up, the green was able to easily wheel out of harms way, and even managed to flame down a patch threatening one of her wingmates.
Surely, Z'tir and Siloth noticed that... right? Someone sure had better!
