Atrius growled and slid out of his cot. It wasn't that he was asleep, but when the enemy general came and began to make alot of noise when he had a pounding headache, Artius realised that enough was enough. He stalked out of the tent and told the guards to rouse the samurai. He then wrapped himself in shadow and leapt onto the wall, landing nect to one of them a** drivers. He quickly activated the machine and smiled to hismelf. This particular weapon worked off of the magical aptitude of the weilder. Its range and power was all determined by how skilled of a mage one was. The machine let out a soft hum as it came to life instantly. "My favourite thing about this is that it masks auras. Not even my father could sense the activation and firing of this," he mumbled half to himself, half to the machine. He slowly aimed it at Ryhalt and waited.
A few hundred fet away, Emperor Raegib looked out towards the young enemy general. He couldn't be any older that he was, and this was good. He would be inexperienced and probably dumb, "Oh great General Ryhalt Mueller, commader of the army that is so well laying seige to my untouched city. We shall not be negotiating the terms of OUR surrender. Oh no. We will be hearing why you shouldn't die. AND, I, the Most High and Infalliable Divine Emperor and Lord of the Gem of Xian and Favoured Amoung The Gods, declare that you have no reason not to be punished to the full extend for your acts against the State. I regret to announce that you are sentenced to a quick death. May the gods look kindly on your soul as you descend to the other half of our world, Pan Xian." Raejib snapped and then nodded. Once this was done, Arius released the cannon's payload, full force. A large sphere of blue, non-elemental energy rocket at Ryhalt...

((What ever happened to the flag of truce! You might have killed the little guy! So be it, this sir means WAR!))
As Raejib spoke Ryhalt started giggling, then chuckling untill towards the end he was laughing so hard he was struggling to hang onto the saddle to stop himself falling off the horse in a fit of laughter, untill he felt the bolt of energy heading towards him. The blast from the mass driver struck and threw earth and dust into the air along with the scattered remains of the Shadows accompanying Ryhalt. As the dust settled Ryhalt was sat untouched upon his mount in a small island of rock in the middle of a large cratter with an annoyed expression on his face. "You know most civilised people recognise the white flag of truce!" He indicated where one of the Shadows had stood a moment ago bearing a staff with a white flag, now scattered to the wind. "Infallible, divine, favoured amongst the gods... and people say I have an ego. Look you pompous little twit, I honestly would love to burn this place to the ground, but Velorius in his duller moments is a softy and wanted to give you the chance to avoid a needless war. I can't wait to see the expression's on their faces when I tell them you fired on me under the flag of truce, not often that Davon's wrong." With a sigh he straightened up and took on a more serious expresion. "Now for the official part.. For the crime of desecrating the natural order, Velorius Zagore has sentence this city and your dynasty to oblivion. War has been declared and it shall be waged untill the empire of Arrius is ground to dust and scatter it to the ages, may the Spirits have mercy on the those who oppose the Will of Chaos... On a personal note I look foreward to the opportunity to kill you myself Leonardo Raejib Theos Motosuwa, last of the Motosuwa."
Ryhalt tugged on the reigns and his mount reared up then disappeared in a pillar of blue flames. When he returned to his camp Ryhalt was in a good mood, the attack at the gate was just the answer he wanted, in truth were their positions reversed he would have done the same thing. Ryhalt didn't believe in all the rules and protocols Velorius and Davon seemed to associate with war and thought them a waste, now he was free to attack at will. He was a little put off by the cannons they used, he was familiar with them only he knew them as Magi Cannons and his weren't as sneaky, when they had fired earlier it was only his own paranoia that had saved him. "Now to get the party started" Raising a hand over his head a sphere of bright light shot up into the clouds, eventually it rose up over the clouds into teh clear sky above where it burst filling the sky with an unmistakable purple light. Upon seeing the signal the aerial forces struck.
During the night, using the clouds for cover an armada of air ships had approached from the north and taken position over Arrius. The thick clouds hid them from the view of those below and similarly hid the city from the airships, but a city couldn't move and once you knew where it was it was simply a matter of firing in it's direction. As the sky was lite a purple color by Ryhalts spell the crews on the airships quickly readied the weapons and began firing barrage after barrage down upon the city.

((Like that wasn't going to happen before? XD))
"We are wasting precious time, I do hope your friends recognize that," Aziraphael grumbled angrily. Her feathers fluffed in agitation.
Far away in the Northlands, deep within the labyrinthine caverns that housed the Great Temple of PerĂșn, a flame the likes of which hadn't been seen in thousands of years roared to life on the central altar, scorching the rock ceiling. Immediately afterward, the piercing, thundering cries of hundreds of phoenixes filled the air, heralding the awakening of their great father.
PerĂșn, the Lord of Lightning, was risen. And he was angry.

((I was starting to feel bad for Novatierrie, being almost ignored by Chibi, bad Chibi! bad, bad Chibi! hits you on the head with a rolled up news paper Anyway I've been planning on doing this for a few days now but after seeing her latest post I considered leaving her to her own devices but in the end I went with it. As for Perun walking up, what do you think he can do to stop me, after all it's only a GOD))
In a dank alley somewhere in Val, the shadowy walls sudddenly start to twist and move seemingly on their own as a portal opened up out of the Shadow's. Esme in the form of a withered old woman walks out followed closely by a dozen Shadows, she looks around and then raises her head and starts sniffing the air. "There, that way." She proclaims pointing in the direction of Azura and Cyril. Quickly she heads off throught the streets of Arrius's sister city, followed from the rooftops by the silent Shadows. Once she nears the building that she is searching for, she senses the presence of other powers. "Seems those pains went straight to the old fools looking for protection no doubt, check the area, I want you to cover every possible exit from the building I don't want them to get away this time. On my signal charge the building, while they are distracted I'll obliterate the entire building." Without a sound the Shadows spread out surrounding the building and waiting for Esme's signal to attack.

( crying MY INTERNET DAIID! Oh and I wont be updating the world information on Gaia any longer. It will all be located here: http://www.panxian.piczo.com ) Nexol rose from the ground quickly and grabbed Cyril then looked over towards Aziraphael, "You! Bird thing or whatever in the hells you are! Come into the shadows!" As this was happening, Leon rushed from the back room; many scrolls were tucked under his arm, and a thick black book was in his other hand, "Yes, Nexol is right. We need to leave Val NOW." He growled lightly and stood next to Nexol and waited for Aziraphael to take her host body into the shadows. ---- In Arrius, everything was chaos, but being the good general that he was reputed to be, Atrius quickly took command of the situation. He ordered all of the male dragons who were over 500 years in age to take to he skies and attack the airships head on. He then summoned some of Ixahrejem's pyrokinetics and ordered them to man the cannons. Each of them channeled their energies into their mass drivers and the weapons reconfigured themselves into anti-aerial energy. Once the machines hummed to life, the Dragons broke off their charge and round after round of semi-automatic anti-air cannon fire bombarded the airships. The war had started, and Atrius had a feeling that this invasion was only half of the problem. ---- Patrick similed to himself as he cleared out the last of the dead bodies from the river. The battle had begun. Now was his chance to strick and take over the Arrian empire. Now was his chance to get a foothold as the armies of 'the other half' prepared themselves to do a mass invasion of Pan Xian. He ducked out of sight and made his way north through the temple quarter. He quickly reached the barraks where he hid his armour and the sword he stole from the treasure, and he wasted no time in changing out of the gunmage uniform and back into his beloved karach armour. He then took the sword by the hilt and thrust it into the air, "Alas, my time has come." The building around him creaked then began to fall apart. The roof of the barraks flew up into the air, taking most of the walls and support beams with it, and then formed into a tiny sphere. Within seconds, the buildings around the barraks also began to crumble and the debris flew towards the sphere and fused with it. "The power of the void in my hands. I control it. It is MINE!" Patrick laughed as the gravity well grew larger and larger as more matter was added to it. He was sure not to allow it to grow out of control, however, and he allowed the gravity well to collapse. The sphere fell and created a small crater in the ground as Patrick marched towards the northern gate of Arrius...

((I'm very interested in what ickle patrick is going to do.. but with him becoming active and Perun getting out of bed I shall have to step up my back up plans... meh mah muh))
Esme gave the signal and the Shadows burst in through every opening they could find, knocking in the doors and bursting through the windows. The homunculi quickly spread out searching for their targets while outside Esme begain gathering energy for her attack. As she concentrated a large sigil made of pale yellow light formed in the air above the building and small bolts of energy crackled along it occasionally striking out at any nearby conductor. As the charge built the air developed a taste like tin and Esme's hair started to rise up, with a few final incantations she prepared to launch the attack...
=================================================
Ryhalt watched through the fog as bolts of energy shot into the sky answering the airships barrage, he grudgingly gave them credit that they were well trained enough to pull back the dragons before firing the cannons into the air. Still they had taken the bait and turned the cannons skywards. "Salamanders" That was all Ryhalt had to say and a group of Shadows disappeared to relay his orders, within moments the fog was lite up as great balls of liquid fire sped through the air impacting against the walls of Arrius. This would be the only chance he would get, the Mass Drivers had a greater range than any salamander, but it would take time to readjust the guns and calibrate them from the shorter range needed to hit ground targets. In the meantime the salamanders were going to throw everything they had at teh city's walls, if a ground force was to have any chance to defeat the defenses, holes would have to be made in the cannons arc of fire.
Starring out at the battle scene all Ryhalt could really see through the fog were the salamanders balls of fire and the bolts of energy firing skywards and the returning blasts from the airships. Ryhalt made a face as he spotted the flaming wreckage of one ship fall from teh clouds, followed soon after by another. He headed back into his command tent, in the center was a low table with a large silver plate ontop, Ryhalt picked up a jug and slowly poured some water into it, then starred down on it. After a few minutes a birds eye view of the city appeared without the clouds, fog or smoke that would hinder his vision. From here he could see where the barrage from the airships and salamnders was landing, he quickly gave a number of orders which the Shadows relayed, he wanted to concentrate fire on the walls to try and destroy the massive guns before the ground assault began.
Then he noticed something unusual happening in teh northern part of the city, he only caught a brief glimpse before it was gone and a crater appeared on the map. "Odd, Velorius isn't due yet and he would have warned me before now if he was going to step up the schedule, I doubt those fools are so stupid as to fire on their own city and it doesn't look like damage from a downed airship... So what caused it?" Ryhalt continued to stare at the image for a while before sighing and turning to a Shadow "Go and report this to Velorius, he'll want to know something unexpected was up." As the Shadow vanished Ryhalt returned his attention to tehimage before him Just what I need another unknown variable...
=================================================
The crowd of people gathered, for weeks they had been hearing rumors and story's of the Prophet and the miracles he had performed in his travels across teh land and then today he appeared in this town. The town was packed and overcrowded, it was one of many that had been sent refugees evactuated from Arrius and the burden of caring for so many additional people was begining to show, supplies were short and tensions were mounting.
Into this had come th Prophet followed by his ever growning band of disciples, he started preaching to the people calming them and then began speaking of his Gods and their coming. "Why hold faith in an Emperor who cares not for his people? While you lie here unprotected, the soldiers sit around Arrius protecting the royal family and their treasures. When the Orcs ravaged the north what did the Emperor do? Nothing! What did the old gods do? Nothing! The Emperor didn't care untill it was his city under threat and when it came you were forced from your homes! He claims divine right to rule a city built by his immortal ancestor. What right when the gods desert him? Why is Leon granted this blessing of eternity while you and your loved ones wither and sicken with old age? You have all heard of the attack in the temple district, of the demon that appeared and savaged those present untill Nexol and Leon appeared and did battle with those cloaked in red. If Arrius and it's Emperor are truelly favoured by the gods why did they do nothing? Why didn't the Gods smite those that desecrate the temples and slaughter their followers? Because they are impotent and uncaring, because they are leeches that feed of you and give nothing in return. But not all gods are like this, I have come to tell you that if you renounce the old gods and welcome the new then you wil be blessed and spared in the coming upheavel!"
The Prophet held his hands up and light shot upwards, as it struck the clouds above they shaped themselves into the forms of four figures, two men and two women "Renounce the old gods for they have entered the sleep of death and open yourselves to the Gods of Chaos, Felito of thoughtfulness and fortune, Amorira of love and hate, Omnego of self and universe and Thanateros of life and death. Accept them and receive their blessing and divine protection."

Patrick growled as he came within sight of the northern gate. No, he couldnt allow them to resist the bombardment from Velorius's forces. However, he also couldn't allow the invaders to aly waste to the city. Arrius was important to him, and if Arrius fell to anyone but him, his lord would be all too displeased. The thought of his lord displeased made the man shudder, but it was only for an instant. He was sure to keep his mind on the mission. He sheathed his claymore then pointed at the city walls...the walls groaned loudly as if some force was compressing them. The walls then crumbled, taking a few men with them. He then pointed to the sky, and created two powerful gravity well around each of the airships. This would tear them apart then compress the matter into tight spheres...
...yes, Patrick's lord will not be displeased with him. PAtrick would have Arrius...and then all of Pan Xian would fall to his lord, madter of 'The Other Side'...

((You sunk my battleship! I just couldn't resist!))
As the day wore on and the seige continued teh fog had begun to lift allowing Ryhalt a clear view of the city without the aid of magic. At the moment things were at a stalemate, with the wall mounted cannons firing upon the salamanders with orc mages doing their best to limit the damage while mages within Arrius did the same. It was obvious the superior skill and power of the Arrian forces would win out, but the salamanders opening salvo had caught them off gaurd and Ryhalt was busy marking the weak points created in the cities defences when the weather changed. The sky slowly brightened as the clouds above Arrius slowly seemed to part allowing sunlight to stream down, soon the sky's above Arrius were compleatly clear, unusuall for the winter locked city. The parting clouds though revealed teh maelstrom above as the entire armada of airships was being obliterated, large spheres sucking in the clouds along with everything around including the debris from teh wrecked airships. "What the Blazes?!"
Ryhalt dashed into his tent and stooped over the images projected onto the silver panel, supposedly Leon and Nexol were gone from the city, that left Raejib or perhaps the one known as Ixahrejem, but according to what Ryhalt was told neither should have been that powerful. Unless Velorius and Davon seriously underestimated the little emperor or Leon returned to defend the city, but they would have warned me of that unless something went horribly wrong! As Ryhalt considered who was responsible the image focused in on the source of the energy ripping his armada apart, revealing a figure in dark armour. "Who is that supposed to be!" Ryhalt stood for a moment thinking, Velorius had been specific in his instructions about sending troops into the city but this hadn't been in the plan. Ryhalt turned suddenly and grabbed a Shadow then pointed towards the person responsible for the destruction above. "Take two.. no three dozen Shadows, go to him and KILL HIM!"
A moment later the Shadow disappeared into a portal and Ryhalt retuned his attention to the images, after a few moments he noticed the appearence of the Shadows from various locations around the unknown figure and watched as they began their advance on him. It was only now that he noticed the gapping holes torn in the cities northern wall, but it was obviously not from his attacks, which meant it must be the mystery attacker. "Just who'd side are you on anyway?"

Patrick smiled as the creatures surrounded him. He'd never seen anything like them until the day they swarmed Leonardo, Nexol, and the rest of the Arrians. Luckily, he had the sword. Another victory for 'The Other Side.' He grinned and drew his claymore. Tehn he gripped it in a two-handed fasion. The sword replicated itself, and soon Patrick had two identical claymores in his hands, "I am sorry to have to do this to such good warriors. May the gods look kindly on you." Hrushed towards one and swung his right sword towards him. He was terribly short of his mark, but that wasn't anything to worry about. As the sword passed harmlessly before the shadow, an anti-gravity well frmed infront of its chest, and it was instantly flung into the air. He quickly spun around and pointed to another group farther away, and as if an invisible block fell on each of them, they were crushed. "How many of you ******** really want to die like this? Why throw away your existance when I can promise you limitless prey? Or are you too loyal to the dying breed that is Velorius?" Patrick slowly rotated as he said this, looking at all of the creatures. If they had any sense, they would see that they were outumbered. Patrick thought quickly then pointed at one then at another who was a clear 20 feet away. Instantly, the first one was thrown towards the second one, topling him over, "I have limitless power. And one comes after me. This one is even more powerful than I. He will be sent by the Council of the Seven Creator Gods to purge this world of Pan Xian of all of the weak. The strong will see, and they will use this world as a staging point to go ahead and invade the other worlds that lie beyong that which is called the sky. Will you prove y our strength and bow to me and then eventually my lord? Or will you fall?" Patrick waited for their reply ans was ready for anything. Either they bowed to him, or their loyalty to Velorius would be their undoing.

Aziraphael growled and in an instant enveloped the cleric lying nearby, moving her body like a puppetmaster controlling a marionette, launching towards the others.
===
In the meanwhile, a great stormfront was building in the north, gouts of lightning crackling within them and striking with enough force to blow craters in the earth. It started moving to the south, the war cries of hundreds of phoenixes ringing through the air, over the bass booming of the thunder. Below, and miles behind, ranks of elite warriors, clad in white, red, and silver armor, armed with every sort of conceivable weapon, and a few that weren't, rode south toward Arrius.

Ryhalt glared down at the images below, he had heard everything said to the Shadows and was now grinding his teeth so hard the sound could be heard from outside the tent. "By all that's Foresaken who does this ******** think he is! Have all Salamanders concentrate fire on that region of the city! Burn that Moth-" "ENOUGH!" Ryhalt turned to find Velorius and Davon standing behind him. "Eh.. Velorius, sir I was just about.." "I know what you were doing, making a mess! Withdraw our forces, call off the barrage and if any of the airships are left, call them back too." "But what about him!" Ryhalt cried out as he pointed at the images on the silver panel. "Do it! And when I said do not send Shadows into the city what did you not understand?" "I had to do something he was destroying our airships!" "And instead of trying to launch a counter spell and ordering the armada to retreat, you left it to be obliterated and then sent Shadows to their slaughter" Velorius stepped forwards and smacked the younger man across the back of the head, Ryhalt gave him a heated glare but that quickly faded and he turned his stare downwards, eventually he turned to a Shadow and gave the order for the withdrawl. "Maybe it was too early for me to give you this much responsibility, still I suppose even Davon hadn't seen all these complications arising." "What about that guy who destroyed the fleet, are we going to ignore him?" "I'll deal with him, you reorganise our forces, this war isn't over yet and I'll still leave things in your command since Davon and Esme are needed elsewhere. Speaking of which Perun has gotten involved, how are our preparations going?" As Ryhalt left to make preparations for future attacks, Davon took a step forward to stand next to Velorius "Everything is going to plan I doubt anyone even realises what we're doing yet, they're all concentrated on whats happening here in the capital and have practicly ignored the rest of the country. I've been carrying on my work unapposed belief is building and all should be ready soon." "Good, go see to it. Esme is off dealling with Azura and friends so I think I shall have a word with our new friend."
================================================
In the city the bombardment from the salamanders let up and the Shadows near Patrick began backing away heading for the shadows and disappearing into their portals. Except for one which slowly approached Patrick, removing the scarf that covered it's face it began wiping away at t's face like it was removing dirt or makeup. When it finally finished and droped the scarf it's face now bore a perfect resemblance to Velorius save that it's eyes were still black orbs. Clasping it's hands behind it's back the Shadow/Velorius began walking around Patrick looking him up and down like he was admiring a piece of art at a gallery and trying to decide if he liked it or not. "So... Where to start? First of I have to say you've got some bravado to try and negotiate with the Shadows, wasted of course. They are, if you hadn't realised, a form of Homunculus and not big on innitiative or free will, so would never have joined you. Then we have your coming gods, if you haven't noticed this world is already overrun with the pests, I mean a large chunk of this city is given over to their various temples. The last thing it needs is another pompous, egotistical, useless diety. And what exactly did you mean when you said I was a dying breed? But more importantly what the blazes are you even doing here?"

Patrick looked at the figure and frowned to himself, "I have been sent by the Creators. The ones who created all that you see. I am here to purge the evil in this world. People like you, Leon, Ixahrejem, and many others. The gods I represent even gave birth to the 'pests' who think they run the show down here. I am from 'The Other Side' If you sail far enough, eventually you will fall off, but with the proper help from one of the Council of Seven, you can be drawn to the world that is below our feet. Not the Underworlds, the Heaven, or the Nine Hells, mind you, but the Otherworld. Now that I have given you this information, I would hear of what you think of it."

The Shadow/Velorius looked up suddenly a bit wide-eyed. "Hm.. What? Think? Sorry I phased out there a bit when you starting jibbering on about sailing off the edge of the world to get to the other side." Velorius said this in the same tone one might use if they were just told pigs sprouted wings and flew. "One thing I did catch was the whole implying I was evil bit. Have you seen yourself in that get up? I'm not going to accept being called evil by someone who dresses up like a fairytale villian! And who would put me in the same category as Leon? I can't decide if you're lying to distract me, unbelievably nieve, creator gods my a**, or if you're just crazy, a possibility given your choice of wardrobe." Velorius wasn't sure what to make of the fairytale he had just heard, he was inclined to disbelieve it simply becasue it made reference to gods, worse yet a group of them who believed they were better than the rest. He was considering if maybe this guys helmet was on too tight or perhaps cutting off the airflow. "So, saying for a moment that I accept your little story, which I really don't, you haven't said what exactly are you doing here right now. Plus I'm rather curious as to why you would put me in the same boat as Leon and his pet Nexol and call me evil?"

"Fairytale...Hmph. You continue thinking that, and hwne the Sevne who Created this World come, you will suffer for the blood of innocents that is on your hands. You, Davon, Esme, and your little Ryhalt will all suffer equally. And along with you will be Leonardo Virgil Nexol Motosuwa. The fisrt emperor for killing the innocents during his bouts with the darkness, and for using his gift of immortality to better only his country and not all of Pan Xian. Ixahrejem will sufferer for treason against the Theocratic Empire of Arrius, and for drawing his clan into a war. All like you, and Leon, and Ixahrejem are the same. Evil for sewing Chaos and Order when Balance is needed." Patrick looked at the Shadow-Velorius, making sure to keep eye contact, "And I am he who will prepare this world for the coming of The Seven Who Created This World and Universe. For I am the messenger of Nahl, the God of the Void. I was his first creation, I was there when Pan Xian was consructed, and I will be here after this Plane fades. Either you repent when the Seven come to cleanse their creation, or you will suffer in Tartarus."
