Oh it is a spirit...I misunderstood one of your earlier posts and thought you were saying it was a person doing things.
I will still check with my books and the like and cook up something to really help your friend. In the mean time I highly suggest that everyone who you think might be effected by this carry around a piece of Turquoise. In a pocket on a necklace or that sort of thing.
It is one of the best protection stones in the whole magickal rock world. It will actually sacrifies its self to protect the wearer. Just before a violent attack hits the wearer it will absorb the attack and crack so that the wearer is safe.

Happy Samhain, Ladi, and I have a few pieces of turquoise here, so I'll get my roommate a stone, and put one in my pocket. For some reason, this spirit is very afraid of me, and won't come very close to me.... it might be because my spirit is over 5000 years old, and is very powerful (from what I was told by one of my protectors)
