I would undoubtedly offend someone if I actually got into a rant about the various reasons why Twilight is pure trash, so I'll just leave it at that. I read the first book, to see what the fuss was about, and gave up on the second, since it's exactly the same thing.

Stephanie Meyer must be laughing her little house-wife a** all the way to the bank. =/

Oh, my grandma knits, crochets, sews... and there's something else where she ties knots with her fingers and actually weaves clothes without a loom. I forgot what it's called though...
I am physically incapable of handling anything smaller than a colored pencil or a Sharpie. Srsly.

Also, I used to love Twilight until I read the whole series and realized that the plot for forsook in place of romance and sap.

Also also, is 'forsook' the correct word for this context?

The word isn't in common use in casual forum English, I don't see why not. X3.

And hells yes drop it like it's Kirby. biggrin

I'll try and find some more amusing music.

The only thing that bothers me more than Stephenie Meyers' writing is the fact that we have similar tastes in music. stare
And I have never read such bullshit before. Bella's kid almost kills her and she just forgives the whole thing?! Women in real life resent their kids for WAY less. s**t, my mom knew something was wrong with me the moment I was born, and she LIKES me!

EDIT: Thanks, Komodo. It's like 'smite' and 'smote;' I can never remember if that's right...

I walk in right in the middle of a heated Twilight flame... Whew... it's hot in here. sweatdrop

Being a man, you're not obligated to have an opinion, Pisces.

I have an open-ended question here:
Is it wrong for me to think that guys shouldn't be suffered to have opinions on pregnancy/abortion/menstruation? It's just that every ******** guy I've ever met has had something to say on one of those that has made me want to rip his nuts off and then tell him that it's no big deal, and that he's not allowed reconstructive surgery, and that he has no right to be upset at me. I seriously think it's for the best; can anyone contribute to this, or refute it?
PostPosted: Fri Oct 31, 2008 9:25 pm

I think a lot of guys have misinformation about that sort of thing, and I've met a few that attack women because they think the pain and discomfort experienced in menstruation and pregnancy is exaggerated so us evil, evil females can get undue sympathy. :/. Because of course all women are dishonest and will lie and cheat their way out of doing work, because women don't care about or need respect from other people.

(No, I'm not making that up, unfortunately.)

But they're entitled to an opinion, that just doesn't mean they'll have more personal experience in those things than us, and it probably means they'll have some flawed assumptions or a lesser understanding of it overall. Beyond scientific fact, of course, which everybody has equal access too.

I see what you mean, but I don't just say that... I don't know... circumcision is a sin against God and that anyone who gets it done doesn't deserve a p***s to begin with. So why do they get to run their mouths about things they could never experience and therefore never understand?
I just can't seem to grasp that, by the way; I'm not trying to be argumentative...

Why are we not entitled to an opinion?

Menstruation grosses me out. Voila, an opinion. Gonna rip my nuts off, now? neutral

Or would that constitute an opinion you've formed about certain organs that I have and you don't?

Having an opinion or impression about those topics is fine. I can understand being upset if a guy tried to tell you how any of those things should be handled (since, unless he's a gynecologist, he possesses no qualifications), but opinions by themselves aren't a big deal.

Opinions can be when they try manning the pro-life table and telling other men that they are "traitors to their sex" for being pro-choice. True story, it happened to a friend of mine when he said he was pro-choice.

There's a difference between telling people what they should do/believe, and holding an opinion.

Twilight... You were never the target, I'm afraid.

*sits with Twilight under a tree and watches in awe*

Taeryyn: You raise a good point. It's not so much the opinion, or the expression of that bothers me, as it is the fact that all of the guys I know pass judgment on women like they have some concept of the responsibility that comes with a uterus. I absolutely do not mind talking to a guy who expresses himself, but when I say something a man doesn't agree with, the correct response is almost never, "...That time of the month for you, huh?"
It's not like I'm saying that no man should ever be able to talk about vaginas or the like (though I see how that could be read from my original question,) but to bring it up in public, or make fun of a woman about it, or talk about it as though they're some sort of authority on morality as relates to my genitals, is by my reckoning, wrong. And I think that it's allowed to happen too often.
Also, sorry if this seems rude, but I had no idea you were a man - your posts gave nothing away to me.

Belle: Because my cousin told her douchebag boyfriend to shut up about Palin's pregnant daughter, he has to "think about their relationship." Why can't he just accept that pregnancy is not forte, and that he should let it alone?

God damnit. Men can be so stupid when it comes to matters of the uterus.
