Arianna was relieved when a break was called. She shot down the healing potion before waving Nina's apology away. "We're playing quidditch we all have to be able to take hits." The red head took note of her team switch and smiled at her new teammates. When the time came she took to the air hoping to win the tip off.

Addie didn't bother landing her broom during break she really hadn't earned herself a break in her opinion. Everyone on her team had been hit and it was because she missed constantly. The second year thought back to the previous beaters. They had both been seventh years and they were both amazing. Teams were almost the same except Addie and Ari were now on the red team. Addie watched as Ari lost the quaffle to Celaena. This was it her last chance to prove herself. She decided to start right away aiming a bludger at Caelena.

Danica got her broomstick up to a comfortable altitude, where she figured she would be above most of the action between the Chasers and the Beaters. As she made a disciplined search for the Snitch, she took care to note Julius's position and actions. He was better at spotting the Snitch than she, and figured if she saw him flying at speed she would have the chance to spot their quarry too.

Julius smiled as he immediately spotted the snitch and raced after it, sort of hoping Danica would soon spot it and give chase too. It was good practice after all, and Danica would most likely someday take his place as Gryffindor's seeker. Her last year at Hogwarts, Julius hoped would be one where she took the lead in every game at the very least, though for now, he was pretty determined to stay the better seeker over Danica. However, good competition just made one strive to be better, right?
'He's spotted something,' thought Dani, as she saw Julius fly off in a particular direction. She urged her own mount to start following the older Gryffindor in an almost lackadaisical fashion, as she hoped to spot the tiny golden ball herself.

After a while Leonette blew her whistle to call her housemates over. "Alright everyone that's all the time we got for try-outs." With that she landed on the ground. Once everyone landed Leonette smiled at everyone who came out. "I want to thank all of you for coming out today. I just need to talk things over with Julius and then we'll get to announcing the team line up." she told them brightly before waiting for Julius to join her so they could discuss the details.

Arianna made her way per the norm to try-outs. She wanted to get to the pitch really early to prove to her teammates this was the year she was dead set to make the team. She really wanted a spot and she was going to prove she was dedicated enough to be there. As she walked out onto the pitch she realized she even beat the captain. That's okay she shrugged and began her normal stretching routine until more people started showing up.
Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day! The sun is up, the sky is blue... It's beautiful and so are you! Dear Prudence, open up your eyes. Dear Prudence, see the sunny skies. Look around, round and round-

Pru put down all the stuff she'd been lugging and levitating with her wand, and flopped onto the grass in a very undignified manner for the new team captain. She was trying to tell herself that she deserved this position, and failing. The only reason she had it was because Julius had died before picking a vice captain. Only then did she even realize she'd been beat there by Arianna, and flushed. "Hi, Arianna. Good to see you." Perfect. She wasn't even the first one there. She staggered to her feet, shuffling a stack of papers. "Uh, can you fill one of these out?" She felt awkward, because the older girl had been coming to tryouts for years, but rules were rules.
The wind is low, the birds will sing... That you are part of everything! Dear Prudence, let me see you smile. Dear Prudence, like a little child. The clouds will be a daisy chain, So let me see you smile again.

Arianna glanced up slightly shocked to see Pru in the Captain's gear. She quickly covered up the look with a smile. It dawned on her Julius didn't make it through the battle last year. The older girl glanced at her new captain with a look of sympathy. This was definitely not the way any player wanted to promoted. Ari stood up and took the form from Pru, "Thanks, and Congrats on being Captain." The younger girl had a rough year ahead of her trying to piece back together a team and Ari didn't envy her one bit. She stepped back filling out the form. Once it was filled she returned it.

With a running start, Dante leapt onto the field, an explosive ball of energy as he darted about. Stopping only to catch his breath, Dante fell to his knees as he approached the older students, flailing his arms out before landing in a breathless heap on the grass. ”I’m fine… just leave me here… It’s all good… Hi!” Springing back up, the boy took a deep breath in before clearing his throat. ”Dante Bianchi! Reporting for duty, ma’am!” He said gleefully, In that same breath, the boy flared out in an abrupt fashion, locking his body into some awkward-looking position, and with a deep breath Dante began some strange interpretation of the Sun Salutation.

Addie walked slowly down to the pitch. She was hoping some time on a broom would lift her spirits a little. It had been a rough couple of months and she really wanted to fly again. She lived with her father who was a muggle so she wasn't allowed to fly when she was away from school which really put a damper on her skills. Well this year it wasn't all her father's fault that she hadn't been allowed to practice. She saw that Pru was the new Captain. "Nice job, congratulations." She said honestly as she arrived at the pitch and took a form to fill out. Wasn't she a reserve last year? How did she get made captain? Addie thought to herself. There were three first line players that had been completely skipped over for that position. She shook her head and dropped the thought and finished filling out the form.

Will had been waiting for this day since the moment his step-father and uncle decided to let him on a broom. He only wished that it had come sooner. The boy would have tried out for the team last year if it weren't for his mother forbidding him from doing so. Will had spent the summer watching the Welsh practices, hoping to get a few ideas for try-outs. He only hoped that it would pay off. After all, his mother wouldn't let him have the broom that Uncle Cadoc had bought him for his twelfth birthday until she knew he was on the team.
Arriving at the pitch, Will saw one of the older girls handing out forms and a few other students. One was a first year, which was a relief to the second year. At least he wouldn't be the youngest student trying out.
Taking a form, the boy found a spot on the pitch to sit and start filling it out.

It was a beautiful day for flying, thought Dani as she walked out toward the pitch with her broomstick slung over her shoulder. With bright sunshine, and only high wispy clouds aloft it was perfect weather for tryouts. Wearing a comfortable pair of jeans and a tank top, over which her oversized Holyhead Harpies jersey was worn, and a pair of trainers, Dani was dressed as she customarily was for what was usually the beginning and end of her flying season. Five years of waiting her turn had done much to dampen her enthusiasm, and the events of last spring made her feel almost as though she were walking over somebody's grave.
Dani was trying hard to be optimistic about her team's chances this year, but it was difficult to be upbeat. They could have won the Cup last year, but Slytherin was just too good to beat, and now their best shot in years was gone. She didn't envy Pru; the younger girl was going to have to work to stitch together a winning formula this year. Graduations and death took its toll on their roster.
'If I make the first team this year, its only because Julius died,' Dani told herself. It was a hard thing to accept, but then truths were many things, and comfortable wasn't one of them. She'd hoped she would get some kind of break this year, but this wasn't how she wanted it. She also didn't fault Professor Harlowe for passing her over and picking Pru to lead the team. 'I haven't proven I'm good for anything yet,' she concluded. Still, it looked odd having a Fourth Year as Captain, and likely a Third Year as Vice Captain, but the team would have a seasoned continuity of leadership for years to come.
No matter what, though, Dani resolved not to make things any more difficult for Pru than they would be already. 'Time to fly, have some fun and a few laughs,' Dani told her herself. 'I only get to do this one more time.'
"Hi," she said, with a slight smile. "Looks like we should have a good turn-out this year. Congratulations, Pru; I'm sure we'll do fine this year." Dani collected a form and a quill and started filling it out, before started doing her stretches.

Aster trooped out onto the pitch, a determined look on her face. She'd heard a second year making first string was rare, so she at least wanted reserve. And she wanted beater reserve, not to get shuffled into some other position. She'd make it happen if she had to duel someone for the spot. Not that she really knew how to duel. Point was, she was getting on this team. She'd always been picked first for games as a kid, surely that sort of thing carried over.
