@Tsuji: Um, yeah... probably not the best for you. Unless, of course, you're TRYING to become a living fossil, or salt crystal statue... lol
...I'm always a bit amused by those who say, "I hate DC. But Vertigo's fantastic.". Why? Well... they're essentially the same company, y'see... mrgreen

124-C So, I've been thinking... A ramen and jerky diet can't be all that healthy... Yet it remains tasty.

Someone wants to kick me?
Also, I think saying that the rest of DC is crap is going a bit too far. DC just isn't my style. I'm not that into traditional heroes, and their tired stories, which is why Batman, and Superman don't really excite me. Not even the X-men and Spiderman get really get me to come around. The Watchmen, I love however, because there's real intrigue and juice there. Thunderbolts is sort of a middle ground, I think, which is why I'm so smitten with it; that and the fact that it promotes so many of the old side-characters from Marvel's past to main-character status.
Oh! Also, anyone who likes comics should start reading the new Deadpool if they haven't already. He made a papazan out of plastic explosives in the latest issue.

Jimmy: You *do* know that Watchmen came about 'cause DC wanted to use the newly-acquired Charleston heroes (Blue Beetle, Question, etc.), and they were pitched the idea of Watchmen, but the execs got cold feet wanting to do something so final and edgy with valuable properties, and so then changed the characters subtly, right? biggrin

aretoo ...I'm always a bit amused by those who say, "I hate DC. But Vertigo's fantastic.". Why? Well... they're essentially the same company, y'see... mrgreen Now now, I never EVER said "I hate DC." And also, let's look at the phrasing there. Anyone who might say "I hate DC, but Vertigo's Fantastic." more then likely knows that they are owned by the same parent company, or else they wouldn't make the distinction at all. Also, you can't argue with me that Vertigo and DC write the same types of comics, because if they did they wouldn't have to have created the subsidiary label of Vertigo in the first place. So don't get all up against me because I don't read Batman. I've never read Batman, and I never will, but it's not because I think people who read Batman should die, it's just because I'd rather read something else. You won't ever see me insulting Batman fans when they walk up to me, and try to tell me awesome things about Batman though, and I expect Batman fans would show me the same courtesy when I try to tell them awesome things about Deadpool.

I realize. Please, you don't have to prove to me that you're the comic-guru here. All I said is that I liked Watchmen. It was a good read. The fact that Moore wanted to originally use DC-continuity characters was never the issue. Moore wrote a masterpiece. That's the issue.
