In the spirit of goodbyes, my entry to the poetry contest (the title is spelled wrong on purpose, it's an anagram): Laiden Dreams
Distance is deceiving in the Dark she gazed longingly into the night Objects imagined are farther than they seem his face danced tauntingly in her mind The stars, their pale flicker reflecting secret eyes his smile haunted her dreams Of others bereft, hoping beyond sanity no longer would she bask Their tiny tears filling the sky in his sunny joyful presence Paling at dawn, fading away he was gone, like the setting sun As the sun revives the dancing colours unlike the sun, no promise of return Faithfully drying the tears away to keep her through the lonely night Illuminating reality anew

I like the way the lines alternate. Reminds me of a poem I did in high school.

No more Eien in the ATG? crying I'll miss you dearly!
Ahh, I've got to think of some good parting words...
Your contributions to the guild both recent and long-standing are irreplaceable, such as the art contest and being generally good-natured to all other members. You, like every other member here, are one of the many reasons why this guild is so great, and thusly it will be that much lesser without you. So goodbye, and thanks for all the fish for being here in the first place! Last of all- be careful out there in the big scary real world! Not everybody is as nice as us, you know!
It'd feel somehow wrong to benefit from you leaving, but that's just sentiment talking. So I guess I might as well do as you've suggested and try and make this a cellebration rather than a mourning. I'll make a request for one of the Damascus Armors, but should they be somehow previously claimed, know that I will not be bothered in the slightest.
I'm glad I could stop bye to say farewell.

A poem for the contest
Prism Of all the glim'ring gems this world can give, of rubies, sapphires, emeralds, et all, why choose a simple piece of glass with no real beauty, value, shine, or lore attached? What purpose has a piece has a piece of glass to live, compared to gems in terms of potential, in a world that sparkles like fallen snow? For me, no reason was easily reached. But then your light shone through me, and I saw that all the colors I admired were there, emanating, of all places, from me. Compared to me, all of those stones were raw, knowing not of polish, or blade, or care, or had but one color, not many.
But once from me your light has been withdrawn, I return again to my dull darkness. Once that light of yours has flickered and gone, All that is felt in me is hollowness. I wish I had faith in light returning, But all I have is sorrow and yearning.

That right there is quoteable.
@Jaft- XD. Fine, I'll write something if it'll make your day. >w<. We wouldn't want to anger the pun master!
I'd hang around some more, but I must go. ;_;. Off to bed with me.

Kalstolyn Indy! I'm a huge fan of the sonnet form myself. That's what I was going for in the first section. The rhyme scheme is different than in the Shakespearian sonnet, and I still haven't mastered stresses yet...

If I can get my head out of my a** long enough to think of an idea I might just oppose Jaft in the writing contest.

Jaft Oppose? o.O I highly doubt I'll be much of an opponent. You'll be as much of an opponent, as I will oppose you. English is such a messed up language, it took me like 3 minutes to think that sentence through. Trust me, it works.

Then sir, as a pundit, I shall write up a prescription for your doom, and as your opponent, I will defeat you so you can never wears shoes again.
Be-wary. 8D
