Personality: The blood of one of nature’s most docile creatures mingles with that of one of nature’s most fearsome and bloodthirsty monsters within this mysterious Kirin Kalona mare. Lore suggests that a combination such as this would cause the host to go insane and, for a while, Tatiana thought she had.
From the time she reached adolescence up through the present, two spirits have attached themselves to Tatiana’s energy force. Neither of the sprits have names, but she calls them Sacred and Profane because much like the two bloods that gave her life one spirit is good and the other is evil. The good spirit draws in positive energy and shares it with Tatiana, but the evil spirit feeds on this energy which leaves the mare feeling fatigued occasionally. It is a constant battle between good and evil, which made Tatiana feel as though she were losing her mind before she became better acquainted with the situation.
When she was younger the spirits would constantly speak to her, one telling her to do the things a Kirin would normally do and one telling her to do anything but. It caused her to suffer many unattractive breakdowns that earned her the title of ‘freak’ and caused her to become an outcast. She thought all hope was lost, that she would eventually be ripped in twain by the two entities pulling her in opposite directions. That was, until she was picked up by a gypsy caravan and the spiritual leader took an interest in guiding her.
Eventually Sacred and Profane were reduced to something similar to the angel and devil perched upon one’s shoulders. They still speak to her and each throws in their own opinion regardless of whether she likes it or not, but she is no longer thrown into fits over it and has just learned to accept it.
Because of her unusual circumstances Tatiana is very uncomfortable around other soquili. It could be residual feelings due to the way she was treated in her younger years when her ability was first discovered, or it could be because of the two spirits chatting away incessantly in her ears. Either way, she usually comes off as a strange or mysterious sort of mare. She doesn’t reveal much about herself and she generally attempts to end the socialization as quickly as possible, unless it is something that requires more attention.
