Fid went out one more time, bringing back herbs. Starting his fire again, he began to grind them up and to boil them, making a tea. As soon as it was done he dipped a cup in and gave it too her. He had been prepared with his pack.

The drow nodded her head in thanks to Fid, taking the cup from him now as she drank the tea quietly. They'd probably be moving soon, and Maya would have to suck it up until they were able to stop again. It was possible, it would just be more bearable if she had enough strength to heal her wounds a bit.

Fid sat by her and began to look out for threats. He was used to the night shift, having been on it for a while because of the Elves. "Get some sleep." He knew she would prefer to be up, but she needed to heal. She was in no condition to move.

"You said we'd be moving on tonight." Maya said, looking at him now with the cup still in her hands. She was tired, but she could move if needed. At least with the sun down she didn't feel her energy draining as it would during the day. She didn't want to slow Fid, but it seemed like he was more worried about her health at the moment.

Fid shook his head. "Your too weak. If you exert yourself, you could die." He didn't care what she said, he could see it. She needed a few more days, unless she could walk on her own without cringing every other step. He could wait.

Sighing in defeat, Maya finished off the tea, then set the cup down and laid down on her good side. Even though she didn't want to admit it, she was exhausted, and the second she closed her eyes, she was asleep.

Fid kept watch, chewing on meat. He had to eat sometime too. If he was weak, they were both useless. Scanning the forest, he made sure no one came too close. He knew the signs of someone coming.

"Finally got her to rest, I see." Authion's voice suddenly said, Authion stepping out of the shadows a moment later.

Fid was on his feel faster than any could track. A quiet rage was building within him. "You hurt her. You are also unguarded. Explain why you are here and you may just live."

Authion chuckled, folding his arms over his chest now as he shook his head. "The general sent me here. That's why. And had things gone my way, she'd be dead, but I was ordered only to hurt her." He told Fid easily.

Fid spit at him. He had trusted the General. Now they would pay, starting with Authion first. Fidelius drew his blades. "Well, tell me why? What you tell me will be your last words on this plane!" He growled and got into a fighting stance.

"You think a creature that stubborn would realize when she was doomed? The general needs her in the future if we are to survive. So he sent me to hurt her enough that she'd need you. And you'd bring her to your human village, and she'd be close when the time came. She would not have survived on her own even if I hadn't interfered and allowed her to just continue on. She could barely move before I even got to her yesterday. Alone, she would die, but the general wanted her with you." Authion told him, his arms still crossed, waiting to see what Fid would do now.

Fid growled. He understood, but he didn't like it. Maya was still hurt. Sheathing his blades, he told Authion to leave. "And tell the General he will get what he has given Maya." Turning, he waited for the Elf to leave.

Fid growled once more before sitting down. He would tell Maya what happened. She deserved to know she was being used.
