Yaknow, this is one of those movies I sort of didn't want to watch; I was a bit scared of it since it seemed like a movie I wouldn't go out to see in theatres, but might be enjoyable rented.

No we don't have emerald cities, or yellow brick roads. Just Koalas and Kangaroos. If where you be from the slang Oz is not around it means Australia.

Ah, I figured as much. Much as I long to live in Australia, I am not savvy on much of what goes on there. It's sort of like another realm to me, being on the other side of the Big Rock from me and whatnot.

My brain is getting away with me at such an early hour. In the book, the Emerald City of Oz was actually just made of normal metals and other things cities are made of. People were told to wear special glasses that made everything LOOK like emeralds, under the guise of "If you don't where these, you'll go blind"

Ah, yes... What a metaphorical wonderland is the Wizard of Oz.
I haven't actually read the book or seen the stage production. I've merely heard about them.
They're both on my to do list.
