 Joshua shook his head, murmuring quietly. "No. Clouds like that usually bring rain. This mist isn't right." He jumped when he heard Katalina's voice suddenly. 'I have no idea what's going on.' He told her. 'We went up to my cabin because it looked like a storm was coming. Mac ran outside to get something. Other than that, your guess it as good as mine. Oh, and there's this weird mist up here.'

Mac float upwards, reached the surface. Still he rose out above the sea into the air slowly upright. His hair swaying as though it was dry. Stream or water surrounded him, twisting in a slow revolving pattern rising out of the water with him. Still the melody echoed.

Katalina's voice grew more alarmed. Okay. Well, if you don't know what's going on, either, then...What the hell is he doing?

Tianara glanced over when Joshua jumped. "You all right?" she asked, worried. "Should we go outside and see what's going on? If there's not supposed to be a mist...it didn't start until after Mackenzie-but-call-me-Mac left."

Joshua's amber eyes widened, watching Mac. "There's no way that is anywhere near normal." 'Katalina believe me - I wish I knew. I have no idea whatsoever.' "His name is Mac." He corrected Tianara absently. "But yeah.....I want to know what's going on...." Keeping his eyes on Mac, Joshua left the cabin. He moved closer to the shore cautiously.

Tianara was hardly going to let him leave alone. She slipped out after him, walking almost silently on the grass that led to the beach. Although she said nothing, she watched Mac with questions tumbling around in her mind.

It's all right, Joshua, replied Katalina unsteadily, watching the boy. I suppose there's nothing to be worried about, aside from how strange that is. He can't be entirely human.

Mac stopped when he reached a certain height. His body stopped about less than ten feet above the water. The mist wasn't heavy enough to be blinding. The streams still orbited Mac, and the aura around his body changed him. His whole image became a beautiful blue color, and he began changing.

Joshua stopped, the waves lapping at his feet. His eyes never left Mac. 'Yeah. There's no possible way to be entirely human and do that.' He nodded in agreement to Katalina. 'But if he's not human......Then what is he?' Joshua frowned, watching the changing body. "What is going on?" He didn't like not knowing things. And this was just too weird to not want to know.

His clothes disappeared in shimmers and his body outline visible. His hair began growing and lengthened to the end of his back and his legs came together and slowly a tail formed with 2 fins. His body structure changed slightly as he became slightly more thin in frame. His face changed as well, into a beautiful face that seemed to be constructed from an artist. His voice became more enchanting at this moment, more so than any mermaid, and a wave of serenity exuded out from his body into the area.

'Um....Katalina? He's looking like a merman.....Tail and all......' Joshua stared, not taking his eyes off Mac. This was just getting weirder by the minute. Mac was becoming a merman? How in the world was that possible? Shrugging, he decided it didn't matter. A wave of peace and calm had filled him. It didn't really matter anymore.

Tianara watched, fascinated. "It looks like he's becoming one of the merfolk," she said musingly. "But I would have known his aura if he was. So would Sorry and Nezik. But we didn't. He can't be one of them." She glanced at Joshua. "You're the one who knows the legends. I have no idea what he's turning into."
Katalina confirmed this, mentally. I know it looks like he's turning into a merman, but he's not. The voice is more like a Siren, but he's not becoming that, either. I don't know what he's turning into, but either way it's weird.

Joshua shook his head, clearing it. 'It is weird. Too weird, really.' He glanced at Tianara. "Katalina says he's not merman nor Siren. Beyond that, I don't know. They're the only two creatures of legends that look like that. Except maybe sea serpent and dragon half-forms. But that doesn't really seem to fit either. I honestly am out of ideas." He spread his hands helplessly. It was beginning to irritate him, not knowing what was going on.

The aura dissipated, the melody died down, and the water stopped circling. The hair looked like the essence of water with its blue hue. This tail of light sea green slightly shimmered. His body lacked any gender specific qualities now, and retained an hourglass frame. Eyes suddenly opening, they flashed blue a moment and then viewed the world. Slowly, this changed person descended back into the shallows below.

'What he is, I still don't know. Yet I think he's done...whatever he was doing.' Joshua watched as the figure sank back into the water. "There's nothing like this in the legends." He murmured, more to himself than anything.

Tianara watched the man splash into the water, and nodded to herself. "He's done," she said, echoing Joshua's thoughts. How she could know with such certainty, she couldn't say. But she knew. He was finished his transformation, at least for now. Smiling, she turned to Joshua. "Maybe you can ask him. If he knows what's happened, that is."
Katalina's chuckle echoed in Joshua's head. Barely known you for a couple of hours, and she's got your personality right down, Joshua. But maybe you should ask him. It can't hurt.
Nezik's curiosity was working overtime. He poked his head around the rocks to get a better view of the boy - the friend of Joshua's that had suddenly transformed into something like them yet not.
