Yeah thanks to that movie I can't stand clowns... there was actually a movie that ruined porcelain dolls for me too, I just can't remember the name of the movie. It was basically a killer porcelain doll that went and murdered a family...

People can no longer cover their eyes.

I've never seen IT. I've got the book, I should read it.

My cousin Faith, who is 6, was allowed by her dumbass father to watch THE GRUDGE. Almost everyone in the family was ready to kill him over that, me included.

From the people I've talked to, it seems IT is responsible for a lot of ..clownphobia lol
But, I didn't see that movie until I was old enough to not be bothered by it...
And my grandmother and mom used to dress me up as a clown at a very young age. So, I've sorta always ...liked clowns. Grew up with them xp

It depends on your definition of a slasher Sanzo. To me a slasher is a movie like scream, or halloween or I know what you did last summer where there is a mysterious killer that goes around and stalks a group of people for no real reason. And one by one they get picked off.

Saw isn't like that. It's about people put in life or death situations and they have to solve puzzles and/or riddles to get out of them. The second film it was a group of people locked inside a building that was full of poison gas, they had to do these tests to get the antidote, like one girls had to go into a small pit of syringes to find a key that unlocked a box with an antidote. The second one didn't have much gore either.

EDIT: No one dies in these movies for a pointless reason. Each person's test has a purpose. And no one is really murdered, they just let themselves die.

Saw V is actually pretty gory though, I was kinda shocked.

@Roland yeah I'd have killed him for that while The Grudge may not be super scary it is far too scary for a 6 year old

*pokes Tsuji* hush we're calling it clownphobia

@Laz.... I'm done having this convo with you. I explained what I defined as a slasher movie 3 times and you have ignored it every time. And honestly, I see people getting maimed as pointless, really I do, no matter what the reasoning behind it.

@Tsuji - Thank you, Professor lol
@Laz - I did love that scene with the syringes. Mmm heart
@Sanzo - Hm I've never had a problem with them either.

I wasn't allowed to watch horror movies until....well, until I was 18 lol
And even now, I can't watch them if my mom is around xp

@ Ala: Yes, it was lol.

@ Sanzo: I wasn't ignoring you. I knew what you meant, I was jsut trying to explain that it wasn't pointless even if you see it that way. Was jsut trying to open your mind to it a little.

Has anyone else noticed I have a habit of putting the u and s around the wrong way when I write Just?

Yeah, that girl had nightmares for damn near two months. We were not pleased, to say the least.

Well, I grew up in a pretty sheltered environment. But, my grandmother actually provided me with enough scares to make up for the no horror movies rule. She loved to stay up late listening to preachers talk about demons and how they can possess people and ...you know..hell and death. Even had me believing that those little troll dolls with the jewel bellies were filled with demons and made children do bad things and/or die. lol

@Laz its one thing to try and "open my mind" a little and another thing to act like I didn't explain what I considered a slasher and telling me how Saw isn't a slasher by YOUR standards. If you had explained how it wasn't a slasher by MY standards and just that I wouldn't have gotten annoyed.

@Roland I would've threatened with sharp pointys... if only to make myself feel better xd

edit: @Ala ah religious fanatics don't you just love them?

Funny story about trolls: Someone had given my parents a troll a long time ago. One day, my mom had a prayer group over and one of the ladies criticized her for having the doll (it was displayed in one of the hutches). The lady expressed her concerns of the spiritual implications of such an object. As a result, my mother threw the troll out before leaving to do some errands. When she returned she was absolutely horrified to find that the troll had returned to its place in the hutch. She was convinced—and I think to some degree still is—that it had returned there by demonic means.

The truth is, my father had gotten home from work and thought the doll had fallen into the trash by accident, believing himself to be doing a good thing, he put it back where it had been...
