Erverain While I admit that that project would rock socks, it would only distract me for the time gathering materials, during construction, and after testing. Nothing much to use it on around here. Sure there is! Quote: ...Not to mention that there is absolutely zero chance of me being able to just "pick up" a random woman and get that far in a single evening.... razz

Sanzoskitsune See this is why I concentrate on the positive things in life and why I... basically act like a child half the time. Life is too short to focus on things that are upsetting... or to limit food intake but that's a different story And THIS is why we get on so well, Sanzo! wink And Erve: I'm not QUITE to -odd yet, I add the 0 and the 4 halfway through June this year. wink

...Actually, after mulling it over, I think the reason I'm feeling like this is because I've been off my medication. I've been sleeping more than normal lately, so I must have missed at least a few days, and that must have thrown me out of balance. Since it's a chemical problem, it's not going to just magically get better, so I really shouldn't forget these things.

Lol. I think my dad keeps messing with it. I wish he would fix it and stop trying to improve it, he has a bad habit of "over-tinkering"
And I do agree with Sanzo. Life is too short to waste worrying about petty things.

Well, while that may be true, Life is made of billions of petty things joining together over time. All it takes is a good sense of balance to get the most petty things in the proper order.

Yeah not taking your medication, for whatever it is, is always a bad thing. *huggles Erv* don't forget that kind of stuff
Life is about enjoying yourself, at least that's how I feel about it. If life is so short why should it only be about petty things? Life should be about the good things, mine is. It's about the good stuff that makes me happy

Well, sometimes the best things in life are something incredibly trivial, like a deep breath of fresh air or listening to your favorite song. These trivialities merge over time to form something important and wonderful, much like how the world itself changes over time. I could make comparisons to geography or flowers, but that's getting a bit too metaphorical at this point.

Not necessarily. I used to be medicated for ADHD, and the drugs turned me into a freaking zombie. People think I'm an emotionless void now, they should have seen me on those drugs. Needless to say, I didn't take them for very long.

But see Erv, to me those things are parts of life you should enjoy, I'm not talking about ignoring the little things in life but not worrying like crazy over things you can't change or upsetting things. I see life as something you take pleasure in, even the small things in life, like a deep breath of fresh air or listening to your favorite song.
Bleh that sucks Roland, goes to show though that not all medication is for everyone

You are going to have to forgive me for this, Roll, but I'm in the camp that thinks that ADHD is horrendously over-diagnosed. I am therefore skeptical to the actuality of the disorder in others, since I have met only one such person in my entire 22 years of life. What I've got is supposedly chronic depression caused by an imbalance of certain chemicals in the brain, which can be regulated with (so far) 100mg of Sertraline HCL, which is basically the generic version of Zoloft. There is an incredibly noticeable difference in behavior and thought process while I'm off it, so it seems to be fixing the effects of the problem. Until they can target the root of the problem, however, I'm stuck taking medication.

Yeah, It was definitely not a pleasurable experience. Although, it does make me wonder about the intelligence of that doctor, because I didn't act like others I knew with ADHD.

Which ties in with the over-diagnosed part. Most 'cases" tend to be either teachers or parents who don't want to be bothered with any difficulties doing their jobs, so they turn normal, active children into drugged-up little zombies.

Honestly, its my firm opinion that doctors and psychologists are too quick to label people and throw drugs at them. Sometimes its just something people need to ride through and sometimes they just need a few therapy sessions and even in the cases where they DO need medication, some therapy sessions would help too

...I, uh, guess that means you think I need therapy. I could probably use some, but I don't think I'd be able to actually talk to the therapist... I tend not to be very open with people.
