And I'm back from my bidding war, victorious!

No that's ok Sanzo. I still prefer Metric over English units (so much easier to convert and such >.>). I'll probably just scowl at the Metric system for a week or so. ^.^
Yay for driving lessons and winning bidding wars(what'd you get by the way, Ro?)~

I'm hoping to get some books on gunsmithing from the library and return the ones I have, because I want to learn how to bed the action on my Mosin, so I'll have one hell of a good gun.

...if I'm not free to be as twisted as I want to be? Gunsmithing. The art and science of working on firearms. Basically, I'm trying to learn the details about bedding the action of one of my rifles. Bedding the action is basically using special epoxy to create a custom fit in the stock so that the working parts will be snug, making the gun much more accurate.

Ah, that actually made some sense to me. I have never even fired a gun, although that's probably going to change sometime soon. I've always favored swords to guns. Occasionally, me and a friend of mine go to his place to spar with his foam blades xd

I've always had more respect for swords.. if only because people KNOW that you need skill and practice to handle a sword and any idiot thinks they can use a gun correctly but then that really is more about people than the actual weapon... Oh wait that's right you have to be up close to hurt a person with a sword that's the bit I liked about it too

...if I'm not free to be as twisted as I want to be? I prefer guns, and especially rifles, to swords or polearms. Which is kind of funny since I'm much better with handguns than anything else. The Mosin is just as much a spear as a gun, though. With bayonet affixed(as it was intended to be used), it's the right length and balance.

Oh wait that's right you have to be up close to hurt a person with a sword that's the bit I liked about it too Anyone who picks up a gun and fires it either realizes that it does take skill or is a moron who wastes ammo, with the vast, vast majority being the former. You are correct that you have to be up close to kill with a sword. Of course, the psychological effects of taking a life "up close" are notably more damaging than if you dropped a man at 100 yards with a rifle. Distance plays a huge effect. On Killing by David Grossman goes into it really well and is a good book on that stuff in general.

Oh hey hey Roland, you ever seen a pic of me? cause I posted some up in the post your pic thread, its the last post in the second to last page
edit: @Lazycommie, well that's my point, most idiots feel they can just pick up a gun and use it and no matter what hints to the contrary they still try it.
As for the killing someone closer causing psychological effects... that's what makes it cooler O_O yeah I'm ******** up in the head

I actually have a bayonet. My weird grandfather was using it as a steak knife xd
Polearms and axes aren't really my thing, they can be a bit bulky.
@Sanzo: There is an idiot in the ED that is convinced that swords require absolutely no skill or practice to wield xd
