Once it left, however, he decided to stay and explore the new lands. Before he had gone to the luau he had been a warrior of his tribe, a protector and healer. He had not been the swiftest or smartest, but he had been valued for his strength and ability to heal his own wounds - and the wounds of others after any battle had ended. The battles had not been his own, he had no quarrel with the other tribes in which his tribe attacked and were attacked by - he understood that the bloodshed was all due to disputes among the elders and their lusts for revenge and 'righting wrongs'. The summer Luau was always a time of peace on the island, and it was Kileona's favorite time of year. He knew his duties and his oath, and understood that if he did not protect and heal the defenseless ones of his tribe that they would die, but he longed only for peace. He drew tired of seeing carnage and causing pain. It was this that drove him, when the festival moved on from his home, to abandon his responsibilities and follow it. Since his arrival he has wandered the lands day in and day out, living his life as if it was an unending celebration with not a care in the world.
