Tori nodded, although he knew he couldn't see it. Unless she was looking at him, and he didn't think she was. Thinking of Gestrian sent a shiver down his spine. The things he had said to his uncle made him angry. "Yeah," he said slowly, wondering what she had said under her breath, "I just found out his name's Gestrian. He seems to not want to be forgotten." After he said that, he felt a sharpness in the back of his head for a second.
Gestrian mentally flicked Tori on the back of his head. "Don't assume things you don't know," he said with a cruel tone, going back to listening.

"Is it bad that he didn't seem that bad, to me?" she asked, openning her eyes to look at him from where she laid, "I mean, I know killing is bad 'n' all....but...he had a reason, right?...I mean, there's a reason for everything." now she was just muttering to herself.

Tori shivered. Not that bad? He didn't know why she thought that Gestrian was ok. Of course, he couldn't blame her. She didn't know what he was like. "He kills because it's fun," he said with another shiver. Tori didn't really want to badmouth the King, but he wouldn't ask for forgiveness for what he said. "Don't make deals with him Fang," he warned, hoping that she would never see Gestrian in the first place. He could hope, but you never knew what the Bloody King was planning.

"I don't make deals with nobody, even ask that little guard of yours that has his sights set on my death." her voice was gruff with street knowledge and she blinked, "Just because he thinks it's fun doesn't mean it's without reason...I aint no college student, but I know enough to know that feelings are caused by hormones in the brain. Any hormonal imbalance...and you got some psycho on your hands..." she closed her eyes again. When she still went to school she was a top student. When she had her sights set one something....she got it.

Tori had never really paid attention when he was in biology or chemistry class, but what Fang was saying made sense. Hormones though? Chemical imbalances? Tori really didn't understand those things. He didn't see why it was so important. "So he can't just be killing fo no reason?" he asked Fang, looking up at the ceiling again. Regardless of what she had said, he was glad that she wouldn't deal with him. He wanted her to be free of the taint of Gestrian.

"Correct...so now you've got the soul of an insane, misunderstood, possibly, ill, man inside you." she smiled a little, "Why am I never one of the lucky ones?" she snorted a little, burrowing her head against the boy's stomach.

Tori laughed a little, unconciously playing with her hair with one hand. "We must be in the same boat then," he said with a chuckle, "I had never seen more than two miles outside the castle until I met you. Although, that was more of a blessing than a curse."

Fang looked at him oddly, "What's wrong with you? I thought the king was the crazy one!?" Though she cracked a smirk as she set it, her fur bristling against his hand, softly.

Tori laughed again, feeling her fur bristle. His hand went to the work of smoothing it down. It was so soft and fluffy...now that he had realized that he was petting her, he was glad she didn't mind...too much anyway. "What can I say?" he said with a smile, "Sometimes having vital things broken can be a good thing. Of course, It would be fun to go flying with you." He thought about the sky, the wind currents, the way things looked from up there...and he sighed. He missed it. Of course, all he needed was a few weeks and he would be all better.

"We can go flying some time, once I'm your body guard,'' Fang shrugged....as much as a fox could, anyway. She always DID like when she was pet, though she'd never expected Tori to have the guts to. "I'm sorry they hurt your wings."

Tori's face lit up. She wanted to go flying with him! That was great news for him. He had only ever gone flying with Uncle Sebastion before, and now he had someone else he could go flying with! And, with Meiyu's healing expertise, he hoped that wouldn't be long. He shook his head at her apology, "It wasn't your fault. Don't apologize. They'll heal soon enough." He looked at her with a smile, "All I need is patience. And some good wing splints. It might hurt trying to ride a horse tomorrow during class."

"Naw, they took me by surprise." Fang turned onto her back for him to scratch her stomach, like maybe a dog, might. "I could've had them guards in a second." or at least that's what she liked to think. "Patience is a vertue as people say, ...I'm not sure I believe them." She smirked a little more, licking her chops, "Class?"

Tori started scratching her belly and nodded. He didn't really want to go to class tomorrow...but he would anyway. His uncle would make him because he wanted Tori to be "well rounded". In truth, he found horse-riding class fun usually. He could guide the horse with his wings...if he did it right. "I have a horse-riding lesson tomorrow. I also have to go to a fitting, some sword lessons and some etiquette lessons." He sighed. Most days were like this for him. It wasn't that he didn't like the distraction from the castle itself...it was just that he had no friends to do these things with. They got kind of boring after awhile.

Fang turned into a smooth looking jaguar and purred , though she snapped her jaws unhappily, "I have to suffer through etiquette lessons!?"

Tori's eyes went wide at her anger. Sure, he hated them too, but they were there for a reason. "YOU don't have to," he said with a shocked voice, "You can bring a book or something to entertain yourself. I'm the one who has to go through the hell."
