Cybil smiled very faintly. Then she looked between the other two. "Well," she said softly, "what should we do in the meantime? We can't try that again, and..." she frowned down at the shards. "You guys stay on the bed. I'm going to vacuum that up before someone slashes their foot open. Be right back."
She slid out from between them and went to get the vacuum. The sounds of her rustling around in the closet where she kept it were quiet and homey - as comforting as their moment of solidarity on the bed had been, at least for Mark.
Looking to Miranda, his face still too pale and his eyes too dark, he asked, "Do you think that was really us, like Cybil says? Or was it all them, just trying to...get a message through?"
He didn't know what to think. He was just letting the girls lead.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Miranda glanced at Mark and drew her knees up to her chest. She was recovering some of her color but she was still paler than normal. "I think it was us." She said softly, hugging her knees. "It would make sense. If what we know is true, then all of our powers were once Abigail's. If they were one once, why can't they work together? You can find the image, I can make it a true movie and Cybil puts us in it."
She began ticking the points off on her fingers. She seemed to be reassuring herself as well as Mark. "You see the images as just simple snapshots, if I saw that right. It doesn't matter when or where the image is from. I can see it as a moving image but I can't get a very good lock down on anything in the past or future. And when I see, I see it as an observer would. Cybil's visions are centered around her, as if she's part of it. So when you add everything, we can find an image whenever in the timestream and practically transport ourselves there."
((I have a random urge to throw in time traveling now, despite the fact that it makes my head hurt. XD )) The tiger that should be....isn't....

((OOC: Muahaha time travel. I find it doesn't make my head hurt until they see their past selves about to do the same thing they just did (ala HP book 3). Because then my brain gets stuck on the infinite loop and I can't get past it. XD))
Mark looked a little confused, but he went with it. "So...does that mean Abigail could travel through time? Could she affect the visions she went through, or did she just have to watch?"
Cybil was always part of her visions, but she couldn't affect them, he knew that much. He had seen her go through the terrifying consequences of it each and every time - which, to be fair, wasn't very often; Cyb did not go straight to her powers when she needed to know something.
He sometimes wondered if she was afraid of them.
Realizing that his thoughts were drifting, he brought his attention back. "I can't affect the pictures I see. You said you can't, and I don't think Cybil can either. So would we be able to if we're all mixed together, or..."
"Cybil can't what?" asked the blonde, coming back in with an old vacuum being dragged along beside her. It thumped lazily along the carpet.
"Cybil can't affect her visions," replied Mark readily. He smiled weakly, and the girl chuckled.
"No, Cybil can't. Not while she's in them, anyway," she said decidedly. "What are we pondering the merits of, that that came up?"
"Time travel," replied Mark. The blonde gave him an odd look, then shook her head.
"Definitely not. Also, would be a very bad idea. We'd probably screw something up in the timestream beyond hope of repair."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... ((That's the part that makes my head hurt. Or, when they have to go back and do something because they've already done it. That gets confusing......))
Miranda shrugged. "I've never been able to influence my visions. I always see them as if I'm a ghost, just watching." She said by way of explanation. "So if none of us could affect the vision alone, I don't think we could together." She paused, considering. "But what if that vision we'd been trying was a real one that the Dark Ones got a hold of? Then was Abigail really turning to look at us?" A thought suddenly occurred to her. "Resonance! I would if our powers were resonating with hers because they're the same. I wonder if she could see us. Not in a time travel way, but in a way that she could see we were watching kind of thing? Like when you know someone is looking at you through a window or something." Elodie peered closely at the minute scrawl at the top left corner that was a return address. It looked as if that part of the envelope had been smudged by someones thumb. But hey- she was a nurse- compared to Doctors handwriting this was nothing. She stared harder, and the mush of inked letters separated into a legible word. The name of the sender, was Abigail. 'That's a cute old name' Elodie thought rising with the letter, to set it, and the book on the counter.

((OOC: Argh! Frustrating university homework website is frustrating!))
Mark gave a slow, considering nod as the two of them sat on the bed. Absently, he rubbed at his arms - they were itching, and he felt cold and shivery.
He really needed a drink.
Shaking off the thought - Cybil and, yes, he supposed Miranda too, needed him now - he bore down on the girl's suggestion. "She might have been," he said thoughtfully. "And since they're her powers, technically speaking, I suppose she would sense them. And she'd sense us. But..." He trailed off. "What would that do to the timestream, Miranda?" he asked. "Even if we couldn't speak to her, just her seeing us, and knowing...what would that do?"
Cybil, glancing up from where the vacuum should have been overloading her hearing, listened to him, but made no comment. She honestly didn't know.
More, she wanted to know what the other two would think.

Elodie took a look around to make sure she hadn't missed anything, and bent to pick up a weird milky blue marble. It'd stopped herself at the edge of the kitchen sink mat. Lifting her eyebrows Avery placed it in the key dish so it couldn't roll away again. Belly full, and new reading material provided, Avery picked up the book on botany and odd letter bookmark and headed to the couch, where her aunt had turned on an episode of 'How it's made' and was watching how soap came to be.
Grabbing the couch blanket Avery wrapped herself up and sat back, the wave of tired had pretty much just washed over her.

Miranda thought for a minute, then made a face. "I don't know. Either we mess with the timestream and screw everything up or......." She trailed off then continued slowly. "Or it's already happened and Abigail has seen us in the past because in the future we will seek her." She stopped and sighed. "I hate time travel. I hate this. Paradoxes. We could do it and mess up the timestream or not do it and mess up the timestream. There's no way to really know." The tiger that should be....isn't....

A commercial came on and Elodie's aunt stood to take her empty cup back to the counter. She paused to take a peek at the letter laying on top of the book and cocked her head in thought. "Keys hmm". Straightening up she put the letter back and took a peek over at her niece, who was asleep sitting up. Again. Smiling she shipped her cup o the sink and got out her computer.

Cybil looked frustrated. "That kind of thing always bugs me," she muttered. "There's really just no way to know for sure, I guess. We'll just have to decide what the greater risk is, and whether or not we want to go for it."
"I think we already have," Mark said idly. At Cybil's questioning look, he shrugged. "Well, we don't know what she saw when she looked at us. If she saw the Dark Ones doing something to us or not. We don't even know if that was really her. If it wasn't, well, no harm done and we won't be able to do it again. If it was, she might have already seen us, and that means that any damage is already done."
Cybil gave him a brief, surprised stare, then slowly nodded. "That might even work. Do you want to think about going for it again? Later?"
The question was more directed to Mark, but included Miranda as well.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... ((Cybil included herself in the question that she was asking? Did you mean Miranda?))
Miranda considered Mark's words then nodded slowly. "I think he's got a point. If that really was Abigail turning to look at us, then it's too late to do anything about it. She's already noticed us somehow." She fell silent, considering it.
"If we've already messed with it all, then I think we should do it again, find out how that scene really played out, without the Dark Ones interfering." She decided, her voice determined.

((OOC: ********. That's what I get for posting at 2 AM. Yes, I meant Miranda.))
Cybil looked out her little window at the view of the next apartment building. "I suppose so," she said, sounding a little confused. In truth, she wasn't really sure what to do about all this. Mark figuring things out and forging ahead, and Miranda...
Well, she didn't know what to make of the other girl at all quite yet.
"When do we want to do that?" she asked, turning around and sticking her hands into her pockets. "It's obvious enough that the Dark Ones are already watching us. We have to time it so that they're...busy. Distracted."

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... ((I figured that was what you meant. lol ))
Miranda shrugged. It was just what she thought, what she was saying. She wasn't really sure of how else to explain it.
At the question though, it was her turn to look confused. "How would we know when they're distracted though? What would distract them in the first place, considering how much of a threat they seem to think we are........." She frowned thoughtfully, trying to imagine what could distract them so much. (A car accident?...A major car accident?...My posts seem so... meh in comparison guys XD If I write "Elodie's Aunt" xp I should probably just name the woman )
Elodie slept as her aunt cleaned the few dishes and set the small kitchen to rights. She took her own look through the box and noted several more books with the name 'Keys' inside. Thoughtfully she went to her laptop and sent an e-mail off to some twice removed cousin. With the thought off her mind she went to watch TV, the sound never seemed to bother Elodie. Not in all the time she'd known her.
