Amroth was faltering and D'cimus could feel him straining. The wing was buffeting them again, pushing them out of formation. The large man was sure he would get a word from K'ienn about this sloppy show but there was no way around it. The poor blue just didn't seem to have it in him at the moment. The large man leaned towards him, doing his best to try and focus his strength into his dear blue.

Is the Weyr needed? Amroth didn't reply for a moment, the exhaustion getting to him. I can try and hold out a little longer mine. I am sorry. The large man worried, but decided to let the blue have the little longer he asked for.

Suuth sped on, aiming for a clump in the distance, but before he could get within flaming range, a handful of spindly stragglers lanced toward him. With a brief mental warning he darted to one side, H'win ducking close and almost disappearing into his dragon's back.

10. You mange to pull off a quick save with some fancy wing-work! Instead of getting hit by some stray strands, you're able to roll out of harm's way! While you weren't able to catch it, you're certain one of your wingmates will.

The wind billowed fiercely, sending thread flying at them on all sides, but Z'tir and Siloth were equal to the task! Trumpeting, Siloth budged his shiny hide to twist and turn, moving out of the way of the strands that threatened them. They were doing well, and make no mistake... he meant to keep it that way! FOR HARBINGER! And for PERN!

TORNADO WING
V’kenti of bronze Takarath [Wingleader]

HP: 38/41
Status Effect: N/A
XP: [+1 Target Accuracy] | [+1 Instinct] |
Target Accuracy: 7
Flame Length: 6
General Stamina: 7
General Agility: 6
Between Accuracy: 7
Pain Resilience: 7

D'mon had been right, as had V'kenti in his thoughts about the wind. No later did Takarath spin out of the way did he right himself only for another gust to blow more into them. The thread just barely hit them but Takarath felt the sting and blinked Between quickly. This fall would be so difficult with these shifting winds that not only push the dragons and riders around but also the thread. V'kenti thought that might be the most difficult thing about it, especially at the higher altitudes.

[Roll 1/5]
You appear from Between only to find yourself in the perfect spot to catch a sliver of Thread. You successfully flame it down easily. [+1 Target Accuracy]

[Roll 2/5]
    8. Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]

[Roll 3/5]
A strong gust of wind suddenly pushes you off course and right into a sliver of Thread! If you're a bronze or brown, you or your dragon take a scathing hit, unable to get out of the way. [Minor Damage -3 HP] If you're a blue or green, you wind up twisting easily out of the way, flaming it down successfully! [+1 Stamina]

Honestly, he hadn't thought it would be this soon. So soon after he joined the weyr that he and his beloved threadscored brown would have to take to the skies again. So soon after becoming a Wingsecond....so soon after having TWINS with V'RIND. Running his fingers over his straps for the eighth time that day, He and Ness were preparing to fly with Hurricane, getting themselves settled to help their Wingleader out. They had much to do, and a lot of old training that was terribly rusty to brush up on. Being a mercenary helped with some things. Not so much with Threadfall. They had a job to do, and if any were to pay attention, they would note that the two had a somber air about them. T'at had the straps on his brown done to ready for any clever maneuvers they would have to pull, Nessuth the sort for a bit more fancy flying to keep himself and his Wing safe. It was just as he'd finished up that his beloved shocked him.

Seeing the smaller woman come out of nowhere was shocking, but when she grabbed him by the collar and kissed him, he kissed back, fiercely, an arm about her waist, "Not for the riches of all Pern would you find me leaving you. Dying would be a horrible waste." He bit the top of her ear, as she nipped at his neck, before sliding himself quickly up in to the air with his wing. The man's dark eyes were on A'dras, his hand carefully settling on Ness' back. The brown was silent as the grave, not a word to any, until they were aloft in high altitude. With a roar that echoed, Nessuth began to TWIST. Thankfully, he was used to the Brown's antics, and they burst flame forth. One good blast from the dragon's maw cleared a thick path through for his Wingmates, making T'at smile.
Almost like we used to do, Ness.
With much more to lose this time. Mine.

Fenrith could not bear the sound of his wingmates crying out in pain, and he threw himself between them and the thread that sought to eat them. The large Brown could take the damage, and though Illa was somewhat less bulky than he, his mistress was just as strong. He threw himself between when the thread hit, returning to find himself directly within the clump of thread. With a shrill of agony, the Brown flamed all about him, Illa's hands on the riding straps tightening convulsively.

-Flying First Wave-

R'mis and Houth rose as one with their wing. Coming from between was rough but the pair managed to stay in formation. Taking their position immediately, Houth let out an encouraging bugle to the others. A little wind can't shake the Trespassers! R'mis noticed the patch first and let out a startled yelp. It was coming in fast with the wind, Houth twisted with ease -alerted by the panic in his partner- spinning to flame the damn thing as it cleared his body. He let out a triumphant roar as it died, You won't catch me that easily! Try again. The mighty Houth is ready!

[1]A large swath of Thread heads your way! Roll a D4 to see what happens!

2. If you're a green or blue under 30', you're able to successfully twist out of the way, flaming on the way down! You roar in triumph as you turn part of the sheet into harmless ash. +1 Agility

There was still quite a bit of thread getting through the upper altitudes, as expected. Takarath had craned his head backwards for some more firestone that V'kenti was about to toss in his mouth when he suddenly had to roll out of the way causing him to bite his tongue. Taka grumbled unhappily but the show must go on and there were still more things to do.

[Roll 4/5]
Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]

This was it. She'd done this once before, and the still-fresh burn on her shoulder, beneath her new shirt and fitted tunic, reminded her well of this. It got a worried croon from the Gold as the two began to prepare for their flight with the Weyrlings. This was a responsibility that she was ready and willing to take on, her eyes glittering in fierce determination, along with her beloved's own whirling eyes. Orange, yellow, and red whirled for dominance in their depths as Alumet finished the last touches on her straps. She had made some adjustments after their last go up, making sure that the two of them were ready for anything. Her flamethrower was on her back, a weight she was well used to at this point. Gently, she ran her fingers over the sprayer, nodding before sliding up on to a familiar back. Hard to believe this was the small hatchling that she'd Impressed. Zeno gave a fond rumble, before following her Golden wingmates in to the sky, eyes flicking towards her beloved mother.

The pair's attention was sharp. aimed solely on the skies as they flew in formation, the eyes of the Queen almost entirely for her hatchmates, and her mother. After all, they, besides Hers, were terribly important, as was the weyr as a whole. It was perhaps this that led to the pair not noticing that..."SHARD IT." The swear was spat loudly, Alumet twisting herself in her straps to try and flame it, only to watch the twisting clump fall to the ground. Shards. SHARDS! That was her fault!

The new stamina that Aresoth was feeling had the bronze doing movements that he probably should be doing, especially not with his bulk. The large dragon moved between his wingmates, suddenly changing direction to go after a piece of Thread. The momentum suddenly changing wasn't what C'ryn was expecting. Once more he was caught off guard, thrown against his straps, the only thing keeping him on Aresoth's back.

Feeling the straps go slack again when Aresoth leveled off, C'ryn hastily tightened them again. Making sure they were as tight as could be. Shaff it all... Aresoth turned his head some, looking back at him as he did so. I appreciate this energy you have Aresoth but, I'd like to not plummet to my death. He didn't know why the straps were slipping, but thank Faranth he had made them sturdy enough that it still caught him.

That's right, thread. Who can't you take? Z'tir. Siloth was becoming a bit of a master when it came to weaving around thread, if he did say so himself. He dove, ducked, and wove, moving with surprising speed for a beast of his size. Yeah! Pumping his fist in the air, Z'tir gave the age old symbol of defiance and victory to the silver rain.

Perhaps she was a little too happy. Aniela was eerily calm and smiling as she and Xaphrith prepared to take off with Trespassers Wing. Her eyes flicked to some of the others with casual amusement, her Brown's eyes swirling a red and violet mix, dancing as he took stock of all the lovely dragons around. Ddraigth's message did not go without notice, he sending a wave of fondness in turn. After all, his Aniela did have a fondness for the one they called Dr'stan. Such delight filled him at the thought of the two finding a moment after this, that he reached down to nuzzle her, even as the woman rose up in to her straps, "Let's go love." With a croon of approval, he launched upwards, in to the high altitude with his wing. Time to study the air and figure out what was to come,
Ddraigth, tell Yours that MIne would like to have dinner after this, would you? Threadfall is such dreadfully difficult work.
