Alisaide had to remember to thank Eliaza a few times when all of this was said and done. Without the nudge, they probably would have missed watching the little Gold burst forth from her shell. She was practically meteoric, and Alisaide couldn't take their eyes off her. How lucky were they? All these Candidates, getting to watch something as special as a Gold come into the world. The other hatchlings were something in their own right, but she deserved a little extra attention.
"Shards and Shells." they cursed softly in a reverent whisper, taking Eliaza's hand when she reached out. "She's beautiful--do you think she'll come over here? I'd love to meet her!"
Dipsi struggled to keep her bubbles of excitement on a low simmer at the best of times but as more and more dragons hatched out the girl practically started to vibrate with joy and anticipation. Who would be the first to impress? Would she be graced with the touch of a nose today or brush of a wing.
Did that guy just get smacked with a tail? She sighed. He was super lucky.
For Dipsi this was her first time on the sands and though she had taken to heart everything the candidate master had said about keeping a calm and open mind that was a tall ask for Dipsi who wanted to throw her arms around every new dragon that tumbled from their egg and welcome them to the world with a hug.
Especially the poor stuck green! Help him little Daddy! His heart ached for the poor dragons fear and pain. She'd soothe her if she could.
The best she could do was stand in place on the sands and hug her arms across her own chest to keep them acting out.
When the gold hatched though she could no longer contain herself. She reached out and hugged the first poor sod (Open to everyone) that happened to come within reach. "A gold on my first hatching! She's stunning, that's got to be a sign right? Good luck at least!"
Poor random candidate
Erastan and Blue Aspalath
Of course Erastan was there.
Like he would ever miss the chance to see his sister impress! What was more, the mother of this clutch was the the sister of his own beautiful blue. Just for this occasion the young rider had been super good boy of doing all his chores and not scowling at the wing leader for practically a whole three months since the gold had risen.
It had felt like an eternity.
Though he was anxious Erastan's instincts of protection were also at full force and his beloved Aspalath sat on the ledge behind him basking in the swell of familial affection, pride and worry from his bonded.
For once it was the sweet blue keeping his rider calm. When Etansi was knocked over by the egg he shot to his feet and Aspalath put his head on his shoulder with gentle reassurance. 'It's just an egg. I don't think sister will be hurt from that.'
Erastan sighed and nodded till the gold hatched and even the jaded youth found his head craning to look at the dragon hatchling causing all the fuss.

Sablie (Western, She/Her)
If there was ever a time Sablie wished she could somehow see in all directions, this was the time. It seemed so much was happening and she wasn't sure where to focus her attention. Such as teal glow blue seeming to lose its footing and got caught on one of the other candidates, Aelyx. Ouch, that looked like it hurt, but they were helped to the sidelines to have the healers take care of her. And she knew like the tumble before, the blue didn't mean it. After all, she knew all too well what it was like to have two left feet. And it didn't seem to deter the blue, who went to greet some of the candidates, which she was glad about. She noticed gold striped was eager to get out, as was purple glitter did as well (which she noted the latter had managed to crack some of its egg). She even saw pink striped beginning to crack and its top come completely off.
"Well, never too late to start thinking on it, ya know? As for the hatchlings, don't worry, I am ready. Hopefully, if we get up close and personal, it will be in a good way,"she smiled brightly to Lyfrocier. She was still in high spirits, not knowing what was going on in the stands. Even if she knew, she would just know it would eventually work out. She did notice yellow swirl brown get upset and her heart went out to him. Hopefully whatever was upsetting him would calm down and the baby would be able to in turn. And seemed rose egg was starting to work on hatching now and the croon was adorable. And teal blue was soon peeping his head into pink striped, which seemed to encourage a green to step out. This girl seemed full of happy energy, which caused her to smile once more. Tribal green bronze seemed put out as he sat and groomed, poor thing wanted attention it seemed. Her eyes returned to yellow swirl brown in time to see he had calmed, in fact so much he was reclining on her friend. She was giggling where she was, glad she had moved a little, though she wouldn't have minded being laid on. She had noticed a blue burst from purple glitter and a couple of the other eggs still rocking out of the corner of her eyes.
"Now what was that ya was sayin about encountering the babies in a way we wouldn't have thought? I got to say, this wasn't what I expected. Hello baby, I hope my friend is a good perch,"she snickered. Her eyes darted between the amusing scene beside her and the other eggs. She thought she saw a shape in the back, but maybe she was seeing things. She also noticed a little green come out of rose egg, who went to comfort her brooding bronze brother. Aww, what a sweet little green, she thought. Orange leopard spot had a green too, who headed straight for her parents. The little darling, seemed she wanted some family time. Seemed pink striped green was having fun, though did knock into some candidates with her play. And it seemed gold striped had hatched into a..gold. She immediately walked over to her rose green sister and slid her aside. Well, the gold was pretty, but she was pretty sure she was not the candidate for this gold. Poor rose green seemed upset and tripped over one of the other eggs, an angry green coming out of the green striped pink egg. She winced seeing as rose green got slapped by her sister's tail. Rose bumped into spotted green egg too, which made an upset noise, but didn't come out of her shell (she noticed the bit of green from the opening).
"Well, ya are free to look, little green,"Sablie assured the feisty green that came over. She hoped the green would not mind her brown brother not moving. She allowed the green to take them in, if she so desired, her eyes taking in the rose green getting her claw unstuck. Hopefully the little green would call out to her rider, so she could get her wounds tended to. She also noticed purple glitter blue, knowing plenty would give him his due. She noticed a couple people not too far, who were standing alone.
"Ya know, strength in numbers. Plus, would give this little green more candidates to look at quickly,"she spoke over to Halvor and Lelte, motioning them over.
As with her first hatching, Ara found herself breath stolen away when the baby gold emerged from her egg. Deep down, buried where she would not have to acknowledge it for some time, Ara knew that a golden dragon would never be for her, for reasons owing nothing to her birth and upbringing, but she had yet to encounter, let alone confront, that reality and so she gazed raptly at the small, golden hatchling. She barely noticed when Dipsi hugged her.
At least until the white dragon who seemed to have been present for everything thus far began moving on the sands to help the piteous green in her plight. Seeing adult dragons moving around when their riders weren't nearby always sent a thrill down her spine. She knew that they were independently intelligent beings - there was never any question of that - but she had not been raised among dragons. Her only experiences with large creatures before being Searched had been limited and unfortunate: her foot had twice been trod on by a runner and once a particularly ornery caprine had butted her in the butt and knocked her face first into a wall. Each time her parents had taken her to task for being clumsy and inattentive. So when full-sized dragons moved around without a human, she couldn't help wondering if she was going to end up hopping on one foot or eating sand.
That said, she was relieved when Baihath sorted out the green's wayward limbs. She hoped that the hatchling found her person soon, so that she could see a dragonhealer about her torn wing.

Raiden didn't need to consider Allamor anymore. The boy was polite, and very obviously not flirting with his sister. This was a sharing hatching, after all! How stupid would one have to be to pull a stunt like that.
Maybe he was overreacting to danger, but better safe than sorry when it cames to his siblings.
Teal Glow blue moved away to peer at candidates, and he accidentally injured a woman in the process. Raiden winced- that looked quite deep. She was escorted from the sands and tended to, so he returned to the events at hand.
"Oh look! Is that one taking a nap on candidates?" He was intrigued. And surprised. Mostly surprised.
When Tribal Bronze began to groom his tail, Raiden couldn't help but feel bad. He was put in mind of a loyal canine, proud and strong-willed. The boy had misjudged him out of worry- what if his thoughts had caused harm? He apologised in his mind, swapping to more positive thoughts.
With the arrival of Rose Green, Raiden was put in mind of his charitable older sister... The way sur approached her brother to help him feel better- that was what Bion had done for him for Turns. He smiled a truly warm and contented smile, glancing at his sister. "She's... She reminds me so much of you!" Maybe her dragon had arrived?
And then- a gold Queen! She made such an explosive entrance that Raiden couldn't help but be impressed, even if Impression was out of the question. He held his breath, watching her path until she was between her sister and her bronze brother. Oh... Did she truly crave /all/ of the attention?
Rose Green backed away, tripping into another egg and fouling her wing. The egg she hit hatched, and it seemed that the baby within was quite angry. The poor green was having a rough time, but eventually Baihath came to the rescue!
From her spot being tended by the healers, Aelyx smiled quietly, watching as greens spilled on to the sands one after the other. She sent all the love she could to them, and to the spotted green, who she remembered from the Touching. The Gold on the sands got a glance of love and surprise. How beautiful was she! Goodness, Khamaith had made a lovely clutch of infants. How she wished she was over there Standing...But she had to wait for the clear from the Healers....
"It's great! And we've finally got some greens!" Savindri gushed, delighted by it all. Well, mostly. He did feel bad for the dragonets who ended up hatched before they'd wanted to be, and for the little one currently having quite the time of it. Poor baby. That brown was delightful though, flopped right on top of some Candidates, and he was almost jealous, though it probably wasn't the most comfortable position, what with the hot sand and all. "That's an awful lot of them hatched now! Which one do you think will be first to choose?"
Samuel Carlin
Nashwa - she/her
"Clearly not," Nashwa agreed with Amahno, even as she flinched in sympathy for Rose green and what was shaping up to be a rough time. Pushed away by her shinier siblings, knocking into one that didn't take it well, leg trapped, claws caught in her own wing - the poor dear! But her little white papa soon came to the rescue, so hopefully her lot would improve from there.
And they had another blue now, in addition to the greens, as well as the baby who continued to skulk behind other eggs, stubbornly refusing to let anyone get a good look at it. And there was the gold, of course, who'd hatched from one of the few eggs Nashwa had touched, the one that had wanted to dance. She had promised she would dance for it after it had hatched, if it so desired, though she didn't presume to think that the hatchling would remember her - that any of them of any color would - when there had been so many hands touching it that day, and likely more than one promise made. She would nonetheless make good on it, in the unlikely event that the baby came calling to collect.
Nashwa would leave that entirely up to the hatchling, however, rather than try to address her and catch her attention. No doubt no few girls had quite a lot they were thinking at the young gold, and she didn't wish to add to the noise. If the dragonet had time for a dance with her, she would be delighted, but she wouldn't dare to impose in any of them. They all had very important things to do today, after all!

Elibrie - she/her
Another beautiful green spilled onto the Sands, then another, one going to her bronze brother and the other going to their parents, while the first frolicked through the Candidates. They were precious, although the one's enthusiasm seemed to be causing some minor collateral damage. She kept an eye on that one just in case, but her attention was jerked away when an egg exploded, revealing a gold. And she was beautiful, of course, although Elibrie's gaze didn't linger long or greedily. Golds were for people like Oranie, although after seeing her force her green sister away, Elibrie doubted even that possibility. It was the young Queen's prerogative, of course, to have her way (and to have the bronze), but she sympathized with the poor little green. 'Just' a green, evidently deemed unworthy of such shining company, and her day only seemed to get worse from there.
"Oh, that poor baby," she worried, gripping her sister's arm a little more tightly again in suspense. Her white parent was quick to her aid, bless him, but oh, her heart!

Veikel
Did Veikel ever mention how much he adores Tristram? His best friend of all best friends, his other descriptors that every time Veikel said them he got weird looks. Ahh, the best friend who always seemed to appear when he was needed most, which happened not that often thankfully but yes this poor candidate had a leg wound and there was blood and other excuses. He was fine though, but the second opinion was super welcome, even more now that there was a Gold on the sands. "In my opinion she could probably get away with just a quick butterfly for now, if you don't plan on running around and will stand in one spot, Aelyx."
He could almost read her mind, seeing how she was looking out with such longing. All candidates would give their legs happily to stand, he supposed "What do you think?" He looked to Tris now, grinning. It pleased him to hear his numbweed was working quite well, considering that it was something he was ridiculously proud of. Salves and poultices and tonics were his specialty after all.

Yura
Yura decided it was probably best to just comment on the hatching and not anything else, as he really didn't want to cause more problems than not by accident. Thankfully the hatching itself gave him a hand with the arrival of many dragonets, specifically a little gold who seemed quite forceful, and the injury of a small green. He could see the panic and concern among the candidates, and having grown alongside many of them he could almost hear their thoughts about rushing forward, or doing foolish things.
Or maybe that was just him overthinking, but he could understand how painful it was to see an injured dragon, especially as an infant. Glancing over towards Sorsha, he bit his lower lip. "I hope the injured one Impresses soon so she can get looked at. That must be so painful for everyone involved."

Haveli
A gold now, was it? Strong and apparently opinionated, it seemed, and Haveli couldn't suppress the smirk that appeared on her face. She turned her head to look around the sands at all the girls gathered there, watching their eyes flick to that metallic hide once or twice before moving on, and the smirk grew larger. Which of these pretty faces would be the one get those rainbow eyes? Golds did seem to be suckers for a pretty face but really, who could blame them? Pretty girls tended to come with pretty personalities, and such a combo benefited everyone.
Haveli was neither of those things, but she did allow her gaze to linger on that golden dragonet before focusing back on the many greens and blues. The brown was still sleeping, the bronzes were not for her, so if she were to have a chance it would have to be a green or blue.
---
Maishel
"Oh, how lovely. Gold is such a fetching color." All of the dragonets had been lovely, that much Maishel could say without adding on any additional commentary about their manners or movements. It was again a new experience to see a beast as large as a gold dragon be so tiny on the sands, though in this case tiny was all relative. A dragon was a dragon no matter he size after all and from these little bodies massive beings would come.
The woman always did like the whole romance and power that came with small individuals turning out to be strong and proper, with their heads in the right place and filled with a sense of duty.

Heleste
Heleste had been listening to the boy next to her talk for a while now. He didn’t seem to be talking to anyone besides the eggs so she had tried to be respectful and not respond. Finally it got to be too much and she had to say something. Maybe just introductions? “Hello!” She said, a little too loudly. “You have a lot to say. I can’t help but overhear. Maybe you would like to talk to a person?” Okay, that was a little awkward…and she hadn’t said her name… “I am Heleste!”

Shalaera - BET TRACKING
There were a lot of babies on the sands now, but at least one thing on her list had changed. Hmmm.
SMERDS: Brenley would like to bet that a brown hatchling will Impress someone from the stands. Shalaera counter-bets Brenley that there will be at least two Stands impressions - and one will be the brown.
Rykin would like to bet that all of the blue dragons will Impress female Candidates. Shalaera counter-bets Rykin that there will be at least 1 lady on a brown
SPOCKAT: Nona, struck by what she thinks could be luck, bets that more browns will impress to girls than boys. Shalaera counter-bets Nona that the first brown impression will be to a male candidate.
B'jor, with careful consideration, bets that Etansi will impress this Hatching. Shalaera counter-bets B'jor that Etansi will impress a green
PRISM: more Western candidates will impress Shalaera counter-bets that more than half the baby dragons to impress Western Candidates will choose boys. the last green to impress goes to a girl Shalaera counter-bets that the last girl to impress will not impress a green
FAE: T’tain bets that the 14th egg to hatch will be a blue Shalaera is counter-betting that the blue in T'tain's bet will be 31-33' at its adult size Remdianori bets that Rasthell impresses a brown. Shalaera counter-bets that the brown Rasthell impresses will be SMALLER than the average size listed on the front page
(BONUS FOR FUNSIES BET, NOT ELIGIBLE FOR PRIZES: W’res bets that there will be at least 6 greens. Shalaera counter-bets that AT LEAST 2/3rds of the greens will impress to girls - and should the greens not divide into 2/3rds evenly, it'll have to round up! (AKA be more than 2/3rds))
Feylin: a blue dragon will be among the first three to Impress. Shalaera counter-bets T'of that if a blue DOES impress in the first 3 impressions, it will have hatched from the 5th or 6th egg.
TATTER: So first bet is three bronzes total All three bronzes in Z'haq's first bet will be larger than 40' second bet is one of the bronzes will go to High Reaches At least 3/4ths (a majority) of the bronzes will choose Western Candidates
SHADDA: Odellet bet there will be a queen among the clutch. - WIN Shalaera is counter-betting that any Gold in this clutch will hatch from 11th thru last egg to Hatch. - LOSS, GOLD HATCHED 9th Wen thinks there will be at least two browns with one impressing a girl. Shalaera is counter-betting that if a brown does impress a female candidate, it will be one from High Reaches (and not a High Reaches Standidate. Candidate proper.)
SAM: the first and last dragons hatched would be blues - LOSS, FIRST WAS A BRONZE Shalaera counterbets that the first blue to impress will pick a boy and the last blue to impress will pick a girl the first one to Impress this time around will be someone not born to a Weyr Shalaera counterbets the first to impress will be a Western Weyr candidate
SYMM: T'rik bets that of female Impressions, more will come from Western. Shalaera bets that the first lady to impress will be an HR Candidate.
Qiana bets there will be a set of twin dragons in this clutch: blue and green. Shalaera bets that if there are twins, they'll impress candidates (or standidates) from different places - if a standidate is from a Weyr, that counts as the Weyr so an HR candidate and an HR Standidate, for example, wouldn't count)

Rundanrul - Western
Things were really starting to happen now, eggs shaking and cracking all over the place. He stuffed the disappointed down when Purple Glitter revealed himself to be a blue, and when one of the greens made her way over to Green Tribal bronze he wrinkled his nose slightly. So many chromatic dragons were on the sands...surely there'd be another bronze, or even another brown? It was a gold that hatched next, though, and he paid her no mind even if she was quite stunning to look at. Green Tribal bronze had about the same feelings that he did at the moment. There was commotion on the sands as the white mate of Khamaith picked his way over babies and shells alike, but Rundanrul's gaze only remained on Green Tribal bronze with the occasional glance to see how Butterfly bronze was getting on. Still hiding in his shell, it seemed.
---
Surel - Western
Surel let out a little breath of relief as things calmed down, though she felt a little spike in anxiety when Etansi stepped aside. There was nothing dangerous going on on the sands at the moment, though, so she shook out her hands again to calm down. Easy does it, she had a group of people around her that had all survived a bit of an eggroll. Surely they could weather worse storms should they come their way.
For now, though, she watched as a rather fabulous blue emerged from he shell, followed quickly by a few siblings. A handful of greens - Orange Leopard Spot green was so cute going over to say hello to her mother and fathers - and then a gold. Surel's breath caught in her throat at the shine of her hide and a smile spread over her face as she watched. What little girl didn't dream of being a gold rider after all? The responsibility that came with it was far too daunting for Surel to even imagine but she could still admire the little queen from afar.
"Oh...um." Her face flushed a deep shade of red as Dystzha picked up on her hesitancy to move to the front of the little group again. "No, it's all right. I can see from here." She could see - not the whole sands, but since Etansi had moved a little she definitely had a broader view. Having something to stand between her and that red-eyed green wasn't a bad idea, right?
But then a pained creel came from the sands and her chest ached with the noise. "Oh no...the poor thing," she said, stepping to stand beside Dystzha, her hands lifting to cover her mouth. Baihath had come to Rose green's rescue but, oh, it was so sad to see!
---
Vimeran - High Reaches
Remaining still, Vimeran scanned the sands as more and more babies began to hatch. He took stock of each one as they made their appearance, not lingering too long on any one. When the gold hatched he glanced at Niv with a slightly raised brow and a smirk. There was a shiny hide that she could have.
"A nice spread we've got now," he commented, just as Rose green gored herself. He glanced over to the young dragon with concern, his brows furrowing and hands clenching. He never liked to see anyone get hurt during a hatching, but the dragons especially. They were so young and so important to the survival of Pern that losing even one was devastating. Hopefully it was a superficial wound at best and she'd heal quickly.
---
Bronze Turoth
It didn't take long for the sands to start to wriggle and writhe with activity, more and more eggs taking it upon themselves to hatch. When Orange Leopard Spot green charged over to Khamaith and sent the three adult dragons a surge of affection Turoth couldn't help the hum that escaped him in return. She was so tiny against Khamaith's glittering hide, but her love was quite apparent.
Turning back to watch the sands, Turoth observed as a brilliant gold emerged from one of the shells. Poor Rose Green was being pushed around by quite a few of her siblings almost immediately after and when the flash of ichor spilled onto the sands his hearts ached in sympathy. The call for help was heeded by Baihath, thankfully, though Turoth was there to soothe her as well.
You're in good claws, my sweet. Don't struggle, let your Papa help. He knew that pain could be a deterrent from finding hers, but he also knew it would be imperative for the little green to Impress so she could get to a healer.

Rasthell Things had really begun to pick up. One minute there had been a single bronze on the Sands, and now suddenly there were dragons all over. Gold, bronze, brown, blue, and green alike were now stumbling over one another. He hardly knew where to look.
That said, he was experienced enough to know to keep one eye on those with red-eyes--as well as those running wildly about. Hatchlings would be hatchlings, but sometimes their antics could cause trouble. Already, a few Candidates had experienced literal run-ins with the little ones, or had needed a healers touch. Thankfully, none had turned violent...
He remembered--well... He probably shouldn't be thinking any of those thoughts, really. That was then, this was now, and each baby deserved nothing but welcome, admiration, and love. This was their moment, and Rasthell wanted to make sure they knew how wonderful they were.
"Oh, a gold-- thinks she might come this way?" He asked, both Aerden and Orry. Not, of course, that either he or Aerden had any chance of Impressing her, but Orry might well. His brows knew at her treatment of the little green--poor thing was having a rough time of it. He understood that feeling quite well. It'll get better, little one! He thought, even as both Baihath and Khamaith turned their attentions on the little one.
They would make it right... Surely.
Neither bronzes were having a time of it--though he supposed the little one who was now being cuddled up to by the young queen might be having a better time of it. The little one who had retreated back to his shell... well. He hoped he might find someone here worth his time. Maybe it would be Aerden? Rasthell couldn't dare to hope any of these beauties would be meant for him. "I hardly know which one to admire or focus on." And still no Impressions...
Well, it was their show, after all. Rasthell would be more than patient.

Mr Cheri
Valendyr The young man had retreated when Allamor had turned his focus on a few others. Admittedly, the flying egg goop from the bronze had meant he'd wanted a full retreat--Hatching or not, he wasn't exactly keen on finding himself covered in it. Not if he could help it, and if it wasn't from His.
From there, things really began to pick up. He wanted to catch the attention or eye of any of the dragons on the Sands--but they all seemed caught up in their immediate surroundings (understandable), or were only wanting to play (also understandable). Some were running around, while others had retreated back to their shell. If the boy only let his gaze look passingly over the metallics, it couldn't be helped-- he rather preferred the idea of a green or reliable blue, like his sister and boyfriend had. Blue dragons were the understated beauties of a Weyr, in his opinion... and greens were nothing but darlings.
If it also helped that they alone made up seventy five percent of dragonkind, why shouldn't he be a little more desirous? Valendyr had nothing to offer a gold, and as for bronzes--even at Western--he just couldn't see one choosing him.
Stepping back and away from the red-eyed green that had unexpectedly hatched, he found himself bumping into Rian and then tripping a bit further into Fahn. "Sorry," he stammered, jerking away like he might have been burned. Clumsy of him, really. Weren't they supposed to pay attention?
If there was a little pink on his cheeks, he'd blame it on the sands. "Hope they start finding Thiers." Part of him wondered if either of the girls had their eyes on that gold, but his focus was on the blues.
Especially the two that seemed to desire a bit of attention. He knew that feeling very well.
Redbud-Tree
demon_pachabel
Rahimar Rahimar had found himself fascinated by each and every dragonet that cracked shell. He wasn't particular about color--but there were a few who seemed to call to him. All the boys who knew their worth, regardless of hue, had him looking them over appreciatively. Two blues who were definitely worthy of something special, and that bronze really needed someone to appreciate him. Someone just like Rahim, no doubt.
Ah, but some of those softer greens could find in him a worthy ally--couldn't they? He was...pretty much perfect. Why shouldn't they coo over him? He was strong, tall, dark, handsome.... He'd certainly make sure they lacked in nothing with him.
"So which of these beauties are you two going to Impress?" He half-purred. "Is gold your style? Or green?" He asked Nashwa. Nevermind that blues or browns might also take an interest in her. "And what of you, hmm? Any of those gorgeous blues? Maybe that bronze?" Why shouldn't all three of them walk away with something grand?
He wasn't afraid to think confidently. Even if Theirs weren't hatched yet, or part of this clutch, it just meant they were one step closer.
"I didn't get too much back from the eggs during the Touching... but they're all grand. I'd be happy to walk away with any of them." And only a fool would say otherwise. Rahimar was full of himself...but he certainly was no fool.

Fahn
Someone bumped into her, and Fahn reeled briefly as she checked to see who it was. It certainly wasn't a dragon but she'd happily accept the presence of a fellow candidate - whom she leaned her shoulder into with a wide grin, then offered a further wave to Rian on the other side of Valendyr.
"They will! They just gotta party a bit first!" she said confidently, standing tall and planting her hands on her hips. "Y'know. Let their future one-and-only admire a bit, dream a little about their potential future life together and hope. At least, that's what I have been doing." Maybe not with all of the little dragons roaming about the sands, but she'd entertained what it would be like to be just right for any of them.
"Haven't settled my heart on any which one, though. They all look wonderful to me."
He hadn't asked any of that last bit, but Fahn had offered it up anyways.

"Me? I got my eyes on him," Amahno said with all of the confidence needed to have his heart broken as he gestured to the Teal Glow blue with a wide grin. "He was a delight in the egg and maybe he agreed," of course, just because Amahno had promised Adventures and Crimes (well, he'd not promised the latter and the former had been more of an offering) didn't mean anything. But it had been at least a little special.
There was always the chance he was breaking another little one's hearts to pieces by dreaming of another, though.

Purple Glitter looked over at Purple Galaxy blue, and suddenly there was a little bit more red in his gaze. With a small lip curl, the blue spread his wings just a bit wider, and let his tail curl and coil around him.
There is only one set of eyes the Candidates, and those in the stands, need to be looking at, and it's him!
Strutting confidently, chest puffed out, the blue did his best to walk right in front of his blue clutchmate. Don't settle for second-rate... This poser has nothing on this tail. He told the Candidates, eyes whirling a blue-green.
Walking past, he rubbed fully against Dipsi and Ara, reaching up to nuzzle the girls--but also hoping they could see what a fine, fine specimen he was. If they were looking at him than they wouldn't be looking at the competition. This was a treat! They should be so honored with such physical contact and personal attention. Isn't he fine? Isn't he amazing? Maybe he's born with it, maybe it's... No, it's him. All him.

Teal Glow Blue was still absolutely AMAZED by everything. He had stopped dead in his tracks as more and more of his clutchmates hatched, and he kept running right into Candidates. Looking up with amazement at Divistia the blue BLORTED right in her face. It turned into a baby-trumpet and as he exclaimed DAD! MOM! DAD!! LOOK! A GIRL! A GIRL CANDIDATE! AND SHE HAS... THINGS! RIGHT HERE! Leaning down, he took a snap at one of her shoes. This had to be the best day. Amazing. Wonderful. He hardly knew how to contain himself so blorting was it.

Tribal Green Bronze tolerated his sister's attention, now that many more eyes were looking his way. Her way, really, but this was how they should be. A bronze was meant to be the consort of a queen. Flipping his wings back, he soaked up the attention--but something told him it was time to get on with it. If no one else was going to get on with Impressing, perhaps he should?
His eyes did fall upon Rundanrul. Leaving his sisters side, he trotted up to the boy to give him a closer inspection. So much potential.... So much admiration. His eyes whirled a curious blue-green, and he stepped close enough to the boy to practically be nose-to-nose....
Before he gave a large snort, right into his face. No.
No this one would not do at all. Too unpolished, too uncouth, I'm afraid. Yours will have to be another for it will not be me. Dismissing him entirely, he moved down the road, looking for another who might give him pause. Surely, His must be somewhere.

Sorry!
Gold Striped Gold watched as her brother moved away. Well, she'd just have to find her own fun, wouldn't she? Giving a happy trill, she bounded towards a group of Candidates. Who looked like fun? You called? Of course you would! You all having a good time? Aren't there so many cute boys here? She asked unabashedly.
She leaned against Eliaza and Alisaide both, hoping they might actually reach out and give her a few solid scritches. She was clearly in no rush. This was her day, and she was going to savor it.

As more and more dragons began to hatch, the man kept his wits about him. There was some squabbles between siblings, and he couldn't help but wince as the green that had been attempting to comfort her bronze brother was chased off ... and then slapped down by another sister, managing to rent one of her own wings. Fortunately, one of her parents quickly stepped to her aid, but... would he be able to manage to free her?
His eyes flickered over the sands, quickly assessing how many unbonded dragons there were. Impressions, he assumed, would begin to happen once the young hatchlings found Theirs... His gaze did linger on the newly emerged blue, appreciating his confidence... but returned quietly to the Green Tribal Bronze. First, his hatching had occurred preemptively... and now, his golden sister was the spotlight for many.
He could understand the feeling. But the bronze was on the move, investigating one of the boys quite carefully. Was it a match...? Judging by that snort, apparently not.

Josen knew him too well. The big man had his fists clenched, resisting the crazy urge to bolt across the sands to the Rose Green and help her... "I will if her dad can't." He muttered, his eyes fixed upon the scene unhappily. Poor little girl. She'd just been trying to help out, it seemed, and... well, the Queen had made her position clear, and her green sister hadn't appreciated being bumped into...

Oranie
So many dragons...! Oranie couldn't help but stand up on the tips of her toes to better admire them all, her face alight with excitement. Oh, they were all so beautiful! And then--a queen! Her delight quickly turned to concern as the smaller green sister was driven off, she inhaled sharply as the baby stepped on her own wing. Unthinking, she squeezed right back at Elibrie, but...
"She'll be okay." She whispered, injecting confidence into her voice. "Her parents are already helping, see?"
If she were bolder, she might have reached out to squeeze Juhvek's hand. As it was, she flashed him a smile--hoping to instill that same sort of confidence in them all.

"Yeah? Well that's because he knows he's awesome!" He grinned, nudging his twin playfully. These dragons were amazing, really. He didn't think he'd ever get tired of Hatchings... but it was nice to see some confident babies! Still, would any of them be here for him or Ollandin? "Uh-oh." He observed the downed green, sucking in a breath through his teeth at the pain she'd inflicted on herself.
