The wind was quite something up here, even for a bronze, and at times it was difficult to fight. He could feel a muscle in his wing give as he was blown out of formation, and though he soon returned to his place, he definitely felt the worse for wear. Some words of encoruagement from a wingmate, however, helped him shake off the feeling.
The pair jumped Between once more to avoid a fast-falling clump of Thread, but by the time they emerged, the wind had changed, and they appeared close - far too close - to a sheet of the stuff. Luckily for them, a wingmate was on top of it. Zijianth sent Cordrath a warm wash of gratitude for sparing them what would surely have been a disaster. Thank you, brother!

They deserved that, too. A face full of hot ash. Sure, they'd done what they were meant to do, and there was one less clump of Thread in the sky to hurt anyone else, but it didn't make up what they'd done. What they'd let happen. Not hardly.

They had changed position, and now the green and her rider were up where Thread was the thickest. It was certainly a mess--and both rider and dragon were immediately busy trying to keep the menace at bay. There was a clump of Thread that Karhath appeared to be flaming--so neither rider nor dragon thought much of it, their attention on nearer threats.
But the brown dragon didn't catch the Thread, and before Eirana or Favaleth could correct for the miss, it was blown right into them.
The green hissed and snarled as the white stuff tangled on her leg and side. She disappeared Between a moment later, but when she reappeared, she made her displeasure clearly known. Incompetent, overblown, oaf! Get your head out of your tail! Surely, a fellow green wouldn't have missed...
Huff.
Be kind, Favaleth. Eirana tried to subdue Hers--now was not the time to get cranky.
Never send a brown to do a green's job. She muttered, before flaming down the white stuff. Thankfully, her anger was as quick to cool as it flared--and she spent no more thought on Karhath. All she could be grateful for was that it wasn't worse.

The wind is strong and trying hard to buffet you. If a green or blue you find yourself struggling against the wind. The wind is powerful this high up, and you have to struggle to keep in your airspace. Unfortunately, a strong gust blows through, and you find yourself blown right into a clump of Thread! Moderate Damage -4 HP
Out of the frying pan, into the fire... She was already sporting wounds from earlier, but too soon, the winds picked up. This time, the young green struggled against it, and was thrown into a patch of Thread. Hissing in pain, Eirana encouraged Hers Between... And she reappeared farther from it. Unfortunately, she also found herself newly scored, her wing sails having taken the most of it.

Thankfully, both rider and dragon managed to find themselves clear of Thread for a small amount of time. You holding up okay? Eirana asked, leaning down and around trying to see exactly how bad the injuries looked.
Favaleth gave a small snort, but sent Hers nothing but love. I don't mind the pain. It keeps me going. Leave it to her green to... maybe not enjoy the sensation, but to be reminded that she was made of tougher stuff. She wouldn't go back unless she had to--or if Eirana truly pushed.

The thread is thick and coming down fast. Unlike the lower wings, you don't have to chase this Thread around -- it's just about everywhere you turn! This is what your dragon was made for, this is what you, as a rider, were meant to do. Burn down those Threads so they are no longer a threat to your wingmates and the people of Pern! Your dragon flames a patch ahead of them, clearing some airspace for your wingmates below. +1 Flame Length
Too soon, the action picked up once again and the green went back to her duty. Pain be damned, she was going to make short work of whatever Thread dared near her! Hissing, the green spit fire at the nearest clump, and both rider and dragon watched in satisfaction as it turned to harmless ash.

Again with the blasted winds! Another gust tried to throw the green out of formation, but Favaleth refused. Straining against the wind, she did her best to fight through the wind, and stay in formation... but at what cost? Eirana winced as she felt something pull within the green's wing muscle.
Stop, stop! She tried to get her green to pause, but Favaleth resisted. Thankfully, the gust finished, and the green let herself glide for a moment as she tested her wing.

High altitude was considerably the most dangerous, and Slidrianth wished there was an easy (not painful) way for him to avoid it all together. His nerves were strung tight, but so far, he and D'zrak were doing... well. He wasn't about to relax, far from it! But maybe he could try to be cautiously optimistic.

You mange to pull off a quick save with some fancy wing-work! Instead of getting hit by some stray strands, you're able to roll out of harm's way! While you weren't able to catch it, you're certain one of your wingmates will.
Thread was streaking down hard and fast, and there was no time for him to properly flame! D'zrak quickly urged him to dodge, and Slidrianth quickly twisted in a flurry of motion. They didn't get scored, and he considered that a success! Yes, they didn't manage to flame the Thread down, but surely someone else would.

Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]
Maybe more 'stone would help. With more 'stone, there would be more flame, and no one else would have to suffer for Orthoth's shortcomings.
As C'mric handed over a few sizeable chunks, however, the bronze bit down too quickly and the stone shiffted, shooting off to one side of his mouth and meaning that Orthoth caught his tongue in a bite meant to crush stone, rather than the stone itself. He nearly blinked Between to try to get away from the pain of a second bite, but he stayed in the sky by force of will and tried not to whimper, instead.
