Lusialu Things happened fast, and at some point, the girl reached for Yunara's hand wit her free one. Perhaps it was the battling bronze and brown, or the upset of the blue, who was now fighting with another green--but this clutch seemed quite displeased with the lot of them. And now....
Now there was another Candidate getting shaken like a ragdoll.
She bit her lip, remembering full well what had happened during her very first Hatching during Rhianth and Fianth's clutch. Would another Candidate fall this day?
While her hearts had lurched at the sight of not one, but two queens--the ire of the bronzes had her holding her breath.
Calming thoughts. Calming thoughts. Calming thoughts.
But oh, she couldn't take her eyes away from Juhvek. Would he be all right? She swallowed hard, wishing she could be there for Elibrie, but not daring to make a move. Even seeing a pale blue trot up to her didn't ease the hurt in her heart.
But things happened quickly, and another blue had come to them. "Oh," she spoke, focusing instead of the little dragon before her. Was this little blue meant for one of them? She certainly hoped her worry over Elibrie and Juhvek wouldn't get them in trouble. "Er, yes, yes of course," she spoke, though if her words felt a bit flat it wasn't her fault. Emotions could be hard to master, after all. "I'm glad you're finally free of your shell." That was also the truth.
Rahimar Things had picked up not long after he'd settled on the Sands. Unfortunately, he had found himself so focused on the eggs he'd hardly had a chance to speak to the girls he'd initially approached. Perhaps that was just as well, as eggs began hatching all at once. First the little green, then a whole flurry of dragons had taken to the Sands, searching for Theirs, or fighting with one another. It was rather hard to know where to look.
The commanding of the bronze was an amusing thing--but who was he to disregard the request of such a being? Why shouldn't he want his due? So he had taken his leave of his present company to adhere to the dragon's wishes. But other Candidates had not, which had caused more than a little trouble. When a man had been pulled into the jaws of the bronze, he had to wonder if the baby was taking its displeasure out on him--and who might next find his ire. A girl was screaming, and...
The pleasure of the evening was quickly turning into something uncomfortable. Rahimar couldn't help but look away.
Juhvek's crumpled body was a stark reminder that this was not a game, nor something Candidates should take lightly. Had they all adhered to the dragon's request, perhaps the outcome might have been different. For now, it seemed the bronze had taken himself over to the queens--for there were multiple.
What a mess.
Even his usual arrogance had dimmed now that the commotion had subsided. There would be no fixing what had been done, but there were still dragons seeking Theirs, and that was what they were here for. Them. Injuries would find them all eventually--if not from tooth and claw during Hatchings, than Thread and fire if they Impressed. This was a tale as old as time... and a possibility they had all signed up for when accepting the role of Candidacy.
Juhvek's body had been taken, but the bronze and gold) had not released them from his earlier command, and Rahimar had no intention of leaving his new spot. Better to see what might happen, especially now that another bronze had appeared.
Razanel The boy he'd come to stand next to had been hurt. Nuamia had checked on him, but the blood on his robes was enough to cause Razanel some concern--as well as distract from the command of the bronze. He hadn't ignored him out of a battle of wills--but simply out of an act of concern. Dehka seemed okay, but... Well, he supposed leaving the dragons could cause more trouble. Especially after Juhvek had been mauled.
Elibrie was weeping--though she had been taken into the wings of a blue--and though Juhvek had been removed from the Sands, he didn't know what his state might be.
Now wasn't a time to think about that though.
"A lot of feist in this group," he murmured, trying to figure out who to look at. It was hard not to gaze at the trio of metallics, if only out of self-preservation. But there were greens and blues aplenty, and some of them in various stages of distress. Had not a blue tried to go for another Candidate?
Melka Haveli had Impressed.
Well, how about that... And to that handful of a brown too. Seemed fitting enough--perhaps she'd congratulate her at the feast when she could.
But things didn't stay quiet for long. There were dragonets aplenty on the Sands, and each one of them a sight to behold. She did not gaze too long on any of the bronzes, but there were greens who were precious, and golds. She was not so presumptuous to think one of them might be Hers, but she was also not afraid to give them a longing look. Who wouldn't want to Impress a queen? And two of them meant double-the-chances.
"Lots of attitude on the Sands today. Think any one of the might be yours?" She asked her sister, trying not to think too hard about any of the chaos. If she was glad her sister was there, she tried not to show it. Hopefully, any dragons that came close to them would be friendlier than the bronzes that had Hatched.

Orange Slice bronze stared down Avocado Green, giving only a small curl of his lip. Don't forget your place, sister Mine. Tend to her, and find Yours, like the good little green I know you are. If you need me to accompany you, I shall. His words were sincere, though, and genuine.. For he was not a cruel creature, simply a bronze who had some very traditional views pertaining to their places. A very natural view, thank you.
He did give 90s Picture Day Green one little comforting creel, before turning to trot after the trio. Surely, they would not mind his company as well? If he booped and nosed at the boys and girls as he passed, he did so gently, sending them all blue-eyed energy and comfort.
All would be well as soon as they found Theirs.

Kinyegele - She/Her
"Oh!" Kinye was happy to step back to let Lusialu and Yunara have a bit more of a moment with the little blue, even as she thought fondly towards him. "I am," she assured, even if her nerves were threatening to leave her after that (accidental, she was sure) display of power.
And then, he hatched - the Black Cat egg that Kinye had spent a good amount of time with at the Touching - and she was starry eyed. Even though he was very brown and she was very unlikely, she was ready to be his biggest fan.
----
Draza - She/Her
Draza hummed thoughtfully over Melka's question, looking to each of the dragons currently on the sands. While she did eye the golds (twins, hmm), she finally settled upon - "I found that green with her twin sisters over there fairly nice to talk to....but I'm not sure if that means anything." she'd made a point of not focusing too hard on the carnage that had been occurring elsewhere. It was a good way to sour one's mood.
"I'd sure like it if one was, though."

Perhaps some Candidates always knew that their dragon was out there. Perhaps there was a special sense that told them. Whatever the reason, Blue Moon green could now hear those thoughts clearly. She knew where to go.
These others had stolen her spotlight, but they couldn't steal this moment away from her. They couldn't make her Impression less special. Maybe no one would notice. But... to this green, this was the most important moment of them all.
Padding her way over to Miela, the little green shoved her wedge shaped head into the girl's robe, but gently. MielaMine, please don't think about those others! They aren't here, and I'm here! Your Invidiath loves you and only you. Please don't look somewhere else!
For Miela had always been enough, and always would be. Forever and ever, hereafter, Miela was Invidiath's. No one else mattered, and couldn't Miela see that? What had happened before didn't matter. She mattered. They mattered.

The little 90s Picture Day Green took comfort next to Avocado and her twin. Things were starting to calm down--her bronze brother had moved away, and her green sisters were offering her such comfort. There were still so many feelings happening...
And a very sad girl, crying onto her brother.
And something still felt...not quite right.
How could things be better? How could things get better? Was she being selfish, keeping her siblings so close? Did not her own twin deserve the limelight? Did not Avocado deserve a chance to find Hers?
The white in her eyes had begun to be replaced by paler blues-and-yellows. She was still stressed, but things appeared to be calming down. Perhaps she was only adding to the problems. I'm sorry, Sisters. I... I did not expect so many sad faces. Nobody seems very happy here at all, and...I hurt. Her hearts were broken, for she was a very small thing. All the love she had wanted to give and all she'd done was take.
F-forgive me. I shall be as I once was. I shall be well... I promise. She nuzzled her sisters, and shakily stood. There were so many out there who needed to know that they were loved, that they were wanted, that they were good--but there were so many who also seemed to be in duress.
Where might she begin? And why, oh why, did she hurt?

Lelte, She/Her. HR While her first instinct was to run to those who were distressed and try to help them in whatever way she could, if there was one thing she had learned as a candidate, it was to suppress those urges. She could end up doing more harm than good with even well-meaning interference.
So she watched and waited. It wasn’t her place to get in the thick of things. She stood in her space of peace and safety, keeping in mind what all candidates were told, and simply sent waves of welcoming, sweet thoughts towards all the dragonets. This was safe. This was good. This is what was expected of candidates. Though if she were called to come closer, to offer help or support or just to be seen, she would of course go.
But for now. Think happy, warm loving thoughts.
Velara, She/Her, Western Velara ached to see the candidate tossed about like a ragdoll. Even though she wasn’t a healer of people (she was an apprentice dragon healer), she could tell, it wasn’t going to be good. Fortunately the candidate still lived, so they could all take solace in that.
She wanted to help, but it wasn’t her place, she wasn’t a healer here, she was a candidate, and not even an HR candidate. She was a guest from Western. So she would comport herself as such. She would be on her best behavior, and represent her Weyr. This was her duty.
She like others watched, waited, and hoped.

When her other bronze brother accompanied them, turning the trio into a quartet, No. 2 Pencil I couldn't help but croon with pleasure. Ah yes, this was how she and her sister SHOULD move through the world.
But she was not so blind. Do not cry, SisterMine. You might also join this merry party now, if you please--but do stay a few paces behind. And that goes for all the rest of you. I'm quite certain you want us to lead you through the throng of Candidates, and if you're very well behaved, we might manage to do so without spilling anymore blood, or tears. Besides which, having more siblings to oooh and aah over her did rather sound like a delightful thing.
It wasn't a command... yet.
She would first see what they might do.
To those walking with her, she did offer a loving croon. See anything you like? We shall have the pick of them, I dare say--even if a few have already been spoken for.
