Actually as a dubbing company FUNimation is one of the ones I actually LIKE. I think they did a pretty good job with Yu Yu Hakusho, FMA and a few others I'm drawing a blank on right now.
and now I understand Tsuji's frustrations, yeah that can be major annoying.
edit: I'd like to add FUNimation took over the dubbing of One Piece for which I will always be grateful to them for, anything is better than 4Kids doing it

@ Tsuji: Lol. Perhaps in some cases, but there are foregin films and tv series that are fine the way they are. There is no need to remake them. Just in the last few years we;ve had the three brilliant Death Note films made and now an American version is coming out next year. Perhaps people also have problems reading subtitles?
@ Americans: Just to be clear im not saying you guys are actually dumb and cant comprehend foreign screen, just that the production companies are making it seem so, sarcasm FTW!

It's not that Americans won't get it Laz... its that Hollywood is running out of ideas and remaking foreign films is the best they've got right now

It's sad though that it has to be this way. And I bet there are plenty of writers with film ideas that are just getting shoved aside because they'd rather pick up an existing story because they know it will make them money. Even people who know remakes of certain things will suck, still go to see it to make sure, I know I do.

I hated the Death Note films. I thought that they should have left that series alone. Besides, they ended the original series wrong...
Anyway, Americans can't understand a foreign culture and, as a result, can't comprehend the trappings of those cultures...

Yeah I agree about your second part a bit Tsuji. Regarding the Death Note Series. I own the Manga, the Anime and the films. I like the films the best. I acutally prefer the way they ended it. I thought the Manga got a bit messy and silly once L died. They just seemed to replace him with a not quite so good L that some how caught him. Plus I liked the Light in the movies better because he wasn't so "BWAHAHAHAHA *EVIL LAUGH*" all the time. He was much more cunning and methodical and smart in my opinion. And I liked the way L died better in the films too, and the plot with Ray's wife I thought was much better as apposed to Light just having an hour long ocnversatoin with her and discovering her name... I kinda prefer the L from the Manga, but the movie version I've warmed up to.
Good night to those leaving ^.^ Imma go get dinR brb
