Mac looked at Jinx. She will learn that not everything is like alchemy he thought to himself. He looked up into the sky and the breeze caressed his face. "We need to sort out our plans right now, and do something" he said, "And Jinx please don't make a negative comment" he finished.

"Devil's Advocate," replied Jinx impatiently. "And as far as I was concerned, I thought we had sorted out our plans, unless you had another idea - that involved something we could actually depend on, of course."
Nezik snapped his fingers suddenly, eyes lighting up. "He never said," he announced. "He never said what his name was - I thought he was deliberately avoiding it, almost. Of course, Sorry would remember better - she was the one talking to him."

Mac looked at the people around him, "I have an idea, but it involves us going into the town on shore. We have to discover who knows the legends of the mermaids".

 Joshua looked thoughful when Tianara asked about the chained creature's name. He nodded in agreement to Nezik. "I don't recall hearing his name. I wasn't paying the most attention to him at the time though. Katalina would be the one to check with if you want to be sure." He'd been busy, his attention wrapped up by Tianara and Adamantia.
He glanced at Mac when the boy spoke up. "I can take you to a few people I know if you want merfolk legends." He frowned thoughtfully, considering who to talk to. "Most of the folk in town know I like sea legends so they would point me in the right direction. Though if you want the merfolk legends, there's no one better to talk to than Allen. I swear he knows everything he can without actually meeting the merfolk."

Jinx cocked a brow. "And what do you want the merfolk to do while you do that? Sit around and twiddle our thumbs? My brother is the only one who can change shape, and not only is he not here, but if he was, I wouldn't let him try it. He's not recovered all the way from, well, you know what happened last time," she added, glancing at Joshua. "This is about our survival, Mac. We want to be in on this."

Mac looked at Jinx, "Well, if any are unable to come, I suggest they stay in this cove, as it is protected. If there is something that you feel you must do, then do it" he finished.
Mac looked at Joshua, "I think that's a great place to start. Maybe we should take 3 people, me included" Mac finished.

Joshua looked shamefaced at the mention of 'last time'. "Yeah, okay. That didn't go so well." He shot Mac a look that practically asked if he was stupid. "Mac, there is only three of us that can go. You, me, and Tianara." He glanced towards Nezik and Jinx. "I'm sorry, but I can't honestly think of anything you guys can do right now. This part seems like it'll have to be just us. It looks like we need to be on shore for awhile." His voice was full of sincere appology.

Mac looked at Joshua, "You know I know that, but I do subtle air-headed comments just to try and lighten the mood sometimes. rolleyes Don't worry, I'll probably say something much funnier next time" he explained.

"Not all your fault," said Jinx, looking amused - and oddly perceptive, although the glance Nezik slanted her might have had something to do with that. "He was being stubborn. He didn't have to be like that." She eyed Joshua, however, when he replied to the suggestion. Neither of them looked precisely disappointed - Nezik perhaps somewhat relieved, and Jinx a little annoyed.
Tianara, however, looked nervous. "Going to the town?" she asked uncertainly. "As in, actually going into the town? Joshua, I've never..."
"You can do it," Nezik interrupted. "You'll be fine." Anything else he might have said was interrupted by laughter from Jinx. "What?" he asked, glancing at her.
"He's caught up to her," explained Jinx through giggles. "She's just down that way. She's almost here. We should be able to--"
A sudden burst of sound came to the small group, and some splashing from just outside the cove, and Nezik began to grin.
"...hear them soon," finished Jinx.

Joshua simply rolled his eyes at Mac, smiling slightly. He was about to tell Tianara to relax, that it would be easy, when Jinx broke out laughing. He humself began chuckling when he heard why. Cocking his head to the side, the teen listened to the sounds, grin growing wider. "Well, well, well. I think we've got visitors." Joshua said with a laugh.

Mac looked around, and had a puzzled look. "Well, if Tianara needs clothes, I'll get some for her when we get to the beach" he said.

"She has Joshua's already," replied Tianara drily after Mac's statement. "It's true that most folk won't really notice, but...if you have some girl's clothes, those might work better. These don't really...fit."
As she finished speaking, there was a streak of colour just below the water. Katalina surfaced abruptly, shaking her long hair back out of her face. Although her eyes were blazing and her cheeks were bright with colour, her voice was calm as she asked lightly, "So, what have I missed?" She shot an angry look behind her.
Jinx was smirking. "Got away from him, did you?"
"Not for long," muttered Katalina resignedly. "So hurry and update me before he catches up and drags me off to that moron again."

Joshua waved off Mac's concern. "Nah. What's she's wearing now will be fine for now. We won't actually be in town for very long - Just cutting through. We'll buys some better clothes later Tianara." He promised the girl. "And Allen certainly won't care what she's wearing." He chuckled at the thought of the old man. No, he certainly wouldn't care. Joshua pushed himself to a standing position, galncing out past the boundries of the cove, just as Katalina arrived.
"Welcome back Katalina." He grinned then proceeded to update her. "Um...Nothing much other than what you already know - War's coming, gonna try and redirect to either that chained creature or other humans and Mac's got some idea he wants to test out so we're heading into town for a little bit." It was good to see the mermaid looking better, though he wasn't sure if she'd actually healed or if it was just the excitement.
