Check what's booting up at startup.
I'll assume it's a Windows PC.
Run>MSCONFIG
Take a look at the startup tab, that'll tell you what's loading up when your PC loads up.

I'm currently hosting a contest in the ATG clan...
I think it's virused. I got a few nasty viruses a while back when someone tried to hack my gaia account. I must not have got all the stuff off of it.
EDIT:... Greek to me, Bass. It is a Windows PC though.

He wants you to see how many programs you have running, Rol. Often times a computer has many that open on startup and slow down the computer unnecessarily. Windows boxes are particularly susceptible to that...
If you go under the [Start] menu and select [Run...] it'll open a dialog box. Type in "MSCONFIG" and hit [Enter]

Ah, I see (kinda) I went and did it, and it gave me a long list of running programs. Perhaps later when I'm feeling a bit better and have the patience to go through the list, I will go through it and stop some of the programs

Stuff like iTunes or whatever can be disabled, but you should leave anything by Microsoft or whoever makes your graphics card and Anti-Virus running.

I saw Windows Media Player on the list, but I don't have iTunes. I even saw stuff like Photoshop on the list though, but that wasn't running.

You can uncheck Media Player and Photoshop, that might help it speed up a bit. biggrin

I'm gonna take off for a bit. I'm gonna go through the old announcements on my mules and get as many of the event items as possible (already has 30 of the street fighter headbands, and those sell for 800 gold now) smile
