Neil was so excited to be here. He had asked all the questions he could which his dad answered with only one sigh. He knew dad wasn't upset, he was asking a lot of questions. He waved till he couldn't see them and was glad dad sent him off with the rare smile.

He rarely stayed in the compartments and mingled with others. It was good to see who he was going to be at school with! He did get plenty of treats. His dad snuck him some extra money but did say he would also have a big supper. He would save some treats for later then!

When it was time to get off the train he was nervous. Ever since he was little, robes made him nervous. Mom and dad helped by getting him used to the robes he would see at their jobs. But he was here alone and it was dark. He heard a big guy call for the first years and knowing where he needed to go helped him feel better. He joined the others on the boats happy for the lake air.

Inside the castle was so awesome, especially the Great Hall! He knew what the sorting was going to be. He wanted to be Slytherin like his dad and grandparents bit dad said any house was ok. Grandma and Grandpa said it too but he wasn't convinced. Perhaps they wouldn't be snooty if he got Slytherin? He heard his name and snapped back to reality. He went yp and sat on the stool. 'Hi Mr Hat! If you don't know where to put me I would like Slytherin. That's where the rest of my family went! Neil said pleading his case.

SLY Neil is sneaky he knows how to do things without being spotted and isn’t above a white lie to cover his butt. He tends to only do it for things that won’t hurt someone else.
[ CLINGY Neil once he makes a friend treats them like family. He prefers close company and hates to be alone. He worries when he's not with family or friends.
SHREWD Neil is good at judging how good or bad people are. He reads people well and can typically figure out why someone would do something.
STUBBORN Neil once he makes his mind you can’t change it. He will stand his ground on something sometimes out of pure spite even when the choice no longer benefits him
PLUCKY Neil may get spooked but he is determined to be brave in spite of it. He may not be happy but gosh darn it, he's going to do it!
FAMILY ORIENTED Niel loves family dearly and likes to do things with them. He gets extra worried when someone in his family is sad or hurt and will promptly try and fix it.

Charlotte was a mix of excitement and absolute terror. All day she'd been focusing on controlling her breathing hoping to not show how nervous she was. She didn't fool her mum or Henry (though her dad who'd surprisingly decided to make an appearance at the station) seemed oblivious enough. She may or may not have held Noah's hand as she got on the train. She was just glad he wasn't embarrassed by her. He'd stayed next to Charlotte until she had to head for the boats and he got on the carriages.

The boat ride over had been quite the...adventure. It would certainly be interesting getting to know all the other students. When she'd finally reached the castle she settled into a state of awe. She wasn't prepared for just how big the place was. It seemed that about 300 of her copies of her grandparents' estate house. How she could manage to navigate this place she had no idea.

As the large doors opened into the Great Hall her eyes immediately searched the room and soon enough spotted her brother over at the Hufflepuff table beaming at her with a thumbs up. It relaxed her ever so slightly. When her name was finally called she hopped up toward the stool, clenching her fist just a bit so she wouldn't shake. She took a breath as the hat was put onto her head, closing her eyes. She tried to clear her mind, she didn't want to influence her house even though she definitely had thoughts...

OPTIMISTIC Charlotte is a positive person and works hard to see the bright side of things. Even when things are bad she has hope that they will get better and that she can persevere. She sees the best possible outcome for every situation that comes her way. She can always be depended on to lift others up.
EMPATHETIC Charlotte can easily see and understand the emotions of those around her. She can see others’ struggles and will make time to be there and listen when they need. She has the ability to relate to those around her with compassion, even if she hasn’t had the same experiences.
ENCOURAGING Charlotte wants those around her to accomplish their goals and dreams. She can be counted on to support others and tries to help them do what is best. Even when things are rough she doesn’t give up and makes sure others do the same.
OPEN-MINDED Charlotte is willing to listen to new ideas and doesn’t make judgments before she has all the information. She can change her opinion if something new is brought to her attention. She isn’t prejudiced and strives to be kind to everyone.
INSECURE Though she doesn’t show it, Charlotte faces a fair amount of insecurity. She can sometimes be afraid that she may never amount to the person she wants to be. She has an image of who she wants to be and she can get discouraged if she feels like she may not be meeting her goals.
HELPFUL Charlotte does everything she can to serve others and make their lives easier. If she is ever asked to do something, she will do it. In fact, she usually does it before she is asked. She puts others' needs before her own, sometimes to her detriment. She wants to make sure everyone else is happy before she works on herself.

                                                  ════════════════════════

JULIETTE CORINNE DELACROIX

first year || unsorted || quarter veela
Daily Dragon Junior Writer and Camera Tripod || Quidditch Announcer-in-Training || Music Club appreciator
dipping their toes in Astronomy Club || Art of the Sword || Art Club

_______________

Just that morning, Juliette had patted Mama and Daddy mid-hug and told them not to cry. After all, Mama had given Juliette a watch to send messages, so it wasn’t like they would be entirely apart. Jules reminded them that they’d have Flick and Roxie and Uriel in the same year and Lewis and Will were already there to take care of them. Plus they already knew what clubs to check out. It was going to be ~magical~.

As the train ride went on though, Jules started to realize they weren’t going to be home for dinner. What if Merc or Lara missed them? And they were never… probably never going to see Nikolaj or Astrid or even Karla from their class from school again. Roxie had been cheerful all day, but Flick had been ambushed by someone in their family they didn’t like. Life was getting a lot messier a lot faster. As the train ride took them out of England, Jules found themself quieting down and sitting up straighter.

The first years clambered into a small boat, but instead of looking up, Juliette found themself staring down at the reflection of the night sky and the waves that broke the reflection apart–oh it was a..building? A tower, windowed lights–oh! That was Hogwarts! Jules snapped their head up and soaked in the view of Hogwarts Castle. That was…really big. How were they going to find their friends and classes and clubs there? Maybe there was a map– they needed to start a map. Maybe charm it or something to track where their friends went. That had to be a thing right? Or maybe their professors would give them like…a minimap of some sort.

The moment the grand doors of the Great Hall opened, Jules spotted Lewis waving. Their posture relaxed immediately, and they waved enthusiastically back. As the first year crowd passed between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw tables, Jules stopped to the side to pounce on Lewis with two high fives.

”Dude! We’re finally in the same school! First to earn 10 points for their house gets a chocolate bonbon? Also check it out! Good luck socks!” They pointed out their Gryffindor and Hufflepuff socks–one for Mama and one for Daddy– before rushing to catch up with their friends. By the time the sorting had started, Jules was back to looking around, pointing out floating candles and moving suits of armor to their friends.

”Delacroix, Juliette”

Finally, the moment of truth. Jules flashed a smile at Yuri and Flick, patted Flick in reassurance, and hopped up on the bench. ”’Sup, Hat?”

Personality
CALM Juliette tries to see the beauty in every person and situation. They aren't very fussy, as comfortable with attention and following along as autonomy and working alone--their favorite environment involves having multiple people in a room, all working on their own things and occasionally talking. When stressed, they tend to close up by being more quiet and polite; random outbursts are more when they’re comfortable and content. While some things still throw them for a loop, and they'll express this around friends and family, Jules has shown a tendency to be increasingly contemplative and thoughtful as they grow.

SPUNKY Calm and collected doesn’t mean there’s no room for silliness, and Juliette’s more spirited side comes out in their work and when they’re comfortable. With family and friends, they will point out silly jokes or details, and love adding funny lines to the details or metadata of their work. They enjoy the puns kind of play as much as the thrill of sports or games. No matter what is going on, there's always opportunity to have fun while doing it--even if unintentionally.

COMPETITIVE Micro-challenges and silly competitions belie Juliette's underlying enthusiastic and determined streak– Their competitive spirit is mostly for the exhilaration and common goal/ focus-- they don’t really care about winning or losing so much as the experience of playing well together. The best award is acknowledgement as a good rival and being invited to compete or study together again.

CURIOUS Juliette is always asking “how” or “why” or “how else”. They like figuring out what things do, how things work or why things happen, and have a bad habit of trying to poke everything they can get their hands on. They are always looking forward to what is next on the horizon in terms of improving themselves or their work.

REVISIONARY Juliette is motivated to learn and build mastery (or at least competence) for the sake of learning and improving. They welcome feedback and consider every project a constant work-in-progress. This work in progress though, isn't obligated--as long as the minimum viable product has been met, or as Jules puts it, it's functional, then the assignment/ project can be turned in or shown off for feedback. If they feel like going back later and doing it better or doing it for fun, they'll do it. If not, there's always another project that those skills will help with.

Considering Uriel received his acceptance letter eleven months ago, he genuinely thought it was enough time for his family to come to terms with his departure. Sure, it was his first time away from home. Not once in Uriel’s short life had he ever left the mortuary for more than a few hours–not even for a slumber party. It wasn’t like he had any friends to do that sort of thing with. Like his sister before him, the muggle children of Winchester just didn’t jive with Uriel’s fondness for black, for divination, for all things dark and grotesque… Not to mention his habit of talking to himself (ghosts; but they never believed him when he corrected them). There was Flick, sure, but Wren often made it clear there were enough kids around that Uriel never thought to ask, content just to have his semi-regular visits with his sister, or to chat in the shop. This would be his first time away from home, and his first time around kids his age that might be a little less put off by him. Of course, Eion was the only one in the house that didn’t go outright batty come September 1st.

Adelaide, despite being Uriel’s very best ghostly friend, had been anything but supportive since she first heard the news on his last birthday. At first she pouted. Then she shrieked. She offered to tag along, and she shrieked some more when he declined. Her requests that he off himself and haunt the grounds with her became more frequent, but no more bothersome than normal. Eventually Adelaide settled into denial, giving Uriel the silent treatment all morning up until it was time to go… And then came the wailing. Times three, because she managed to wake his newborn nieces, Delphi and Dahlia, from their morning naps.

His sister went through a lot during the gruesome delivery, leaving her quite out of sorts throughout her recovery. Never in his years had he seen Moira so emotional, yet even she cried when Uriel popped his head in to her room to say goodbye, mourning the incoming loss of their next seven Samhains together, of all their time together in the shop, of having someone around that understood her exhaustion with their father’s antics. “You’re going to be so busy with the twins that you’ll barely notice I’m gone, you’ll see.” He comforted her, petting her soft curls while she squeezed him tight enough he thought they might just meld together. “I’ll be back for Yule before you know it. And you’ll have my free labor all Winter break.” At that, she actually laughed. Boy was she out of it. Eion truly had his work cut out for him.

Over the last week, Theo reminisced more and more about his days at Hogwarts during their work in the morgue. Aveline gushed over how her baby was so grown up. It was just the three of them at King’s Cross. While some kids his age might have been embarrassed by the hugs and affection from their parents, Uriel accepted each hug, each kiss of the cheek, each word of love and encouragement as they came and promised to write home regularly. When they finally let him go, he was glad to find the familiar face of Juliette Delacroix to join on the train alongside Flick and the infamous Roxanne, who up ‘til then he half-expected was Flick’s imaginary friend. He might have cracked a joke about it, if not for the fact Flick was incredibly stressed by the sudden exposure to their blood relatives after such a long time apart. Instead Uriel offered his words of support and aided in keeping a lookout in case Erikk Knapp decided to check in again. It was admittedly a shame; Flick’s brother at least seemed like he had good intentions.

Towards the end of the ride Uriel left to change into his uniform. Overall, he appreciated that the uniform was mostly dark, save for that dreaded white button-up that nearly made his eye twitch. 'Looks like Mum snuck it in after all…’ Lucky him he came prepared; he was already wearing one in black. He abandoned the bright eyesore to the abyss of his bag and swore to himself he would fix it the very second he learned a color-changing charm.

His group stayed together for the boat ride and all the way to the sorting feast. As the sorting began, Uriel found himself wondering which of the houses he would be sorted to. It was no surprise that Moira was a Slytherin, similar to their grandmother Ursula as she was. His grandfather Herschel mentioned all the time Uriel was every bit his father’s son, so did that mean he’d sort into Ravenclaw? He wasn’t sure. As he name was called and he sat upon the stool awaiting his future, he couldn’t help but wonder about the logistics that went into this sort of thing. ‘I understand that the hat is charmed, but how exactly did they spell it to know where one’s best matched, anyway? Is that something that we'll cover in class? Maybe I should have done a tarot read this morning after all… I might’ve had a better idea what to expect if I did.’

                                                                      xxxPERSONALITYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

STRAIGHTFORWARD If there’s one thing growing up in a mortuary taught him, it’s that life is short and so, so easily wasted. As a result, Uriel doesn’t like to dilly-dally or waste his time beating around the metaphorical bush. He believes in honesty above all else for better or worse. As a friend he is truly loyal and wants only the best for others, so he’ll often be the first to call someone out when they’re going too far or need to be brought back down to Earth. This may result in some hurt feelings initially, and for that he’s truly sorry–but he’s prepared to build them back up and send them back out better equipped to try again.

IDEALIST Uriel doesn’t take things at face value, instead preferring to ponder why things are as they are. Surely there has to be a reason when something goes awry, and surely there must be a way to set things right. In the grand scheme of things, the world can’t truly be as bleak as it appears. If people would just take action, would just stand true, everything could work itself out for the better. Uriel is not the type to idly stand by and let misfortune happen–he will do anything in his limited power to set things as they should be, be it through motivating others to reach their potential and provide support from the sidelines, or getting his hands dirty himself. If he comes off as impractical then so be it. At least he has compassion.

OBSERVATIONAL As soon as he was old enough to be quiet and keep his hands to himself, Uriel was dressed up and brought to funerals to learn the family business. Since kids rarely wanted to play with him, there wasn't much else to do besides watch and learn. If he wasn't learning from his parents, he was doing so from his grandmother, or his sister, or her friends. Uriel quickly understood before he could put it into words that if he wanted to do anything, he was best off watching first. Watch and learn. Ask questions. Recognize when it was okay to ask questions or offer to help, and recognize when it was time to shut up, step back, and just observe. As it turned out, Uriel quite liked to learn, and even more-so enjoyed putting his lessons to practice and cementing that knowledge within him. Whether it was music, wandlore, plants, mortuary work, or divination, he approached each task with an open mind and open ears.

WARM Contrary to popular belief, Uriel is not "cold as a corpse". Upon getting to know him one would discover he is a genuinely kind person at his core, patient and welcoming to friendship. He's a good listener that refrains from passing judgment and is someone that can be relied on.

INDIVIDUALISTIC Okay, he gets it. He comes off as a weird kid--graveyards are spooky and black is bleak. The whole talking to ghosts schtick probably hasn't helped his case, but aren't his quirks a good thing? Uriel is quite comfortable with who he is as a person and doesn't plan to compromise himself for anyone or anything. Life's too short to waste it pretending to be something you're not. That being said, he admires those who are also unapologetic in simply being themselves and stray from the dreadfully dull line of "normalcy". Weirdos are more fun, anyway.

LONELY It wasn't often growing up that Uriel was able to spend time with children his own age. Sometimes he got to tag along with his older sister and her friends, or her friends' younger siblings, but it wasn't quite the same as if he had friends of his own. Though occasionally he would try to engage fellow children at the funeral home, those children were never much interested in playing as they were wrapped up in their own lives and grieving. As for his classmates? Well... Children could be cruel. The ghosts at home were welcome company, but it wasn't quite the same as having someone he could physically interact with.

                                                                      ════════════════════════════════════════════════

                                                                      OOC:
                                                                      Quote:

                                                                      Spirits, supernatural, are shy
                                                                      What's all the fuss?
But bags of bones seem so unsafe
                                                                      It's semi-serious!

Merciless memories
They're ringing on so unforgivingly
They show no intent of letting me go free
And if I close my eyes, and try to drown them out they only grow
They're closing in and far away you laugh

Dr. Cross and Dr. Cross stood before him. While the rest of the children hugged their parents and said their teary farewells, Ivan once again felt as if he were being forced to suffer through some sort of business meeting. Cold and terse as always, even when their only son was leaving home for the first time. Even when their only son was leaving home to learn magic.

“Be sure to take your medicine on time. Set your watch, if you must.” His father, Dr. Cross, clicked open his pocket watch as he spoke, more focused on the seconds passing than being present in the moment. He had a conference to attend after this.

“We expect a full report home at least once a week.” While his mother, Dr. Cross, paid Ivan attention, she was distant in demeanor. “If your primary studies fall behind, we will be bringing you home. I don’t care what that governess has to say on the matter. Your best interests are what's most important.”

Ivan almost wanted to laugh at how she was in such a state of denial. As if this school were fake, and charms and potions would do him no good compared to muggle (he loved that word, muggle) history and physics. She stated time and time again her concern he could become delusional and fall into flights of fantasy, but wasn’t that hypocritical? If anything, she was delusional. All of this proof right in front of her, and yet she sticks to her guns.

Instead of laughter, he returned her gaze with a wry smile. “Not to worry, Mum. I’ll try my best.”

“Try your best…” His father heaved a sigh and clasped his watch shut. “What have I told you, Ivan?”

‘This shite again.’ “Don’t try, do.” The boy replied dutifully.

“Exactly.” At this, Dr. Cross seemed pleased. He even pat his son on the shoulder. “You’re perfectly capable. We expect nothing but the best from you.”

For Ivan, boarding the Hogwarts Express was a breath of fresh air. Finally, he had agency! Of course the expectations of him were high, but he wasn’t worried at all. For once he had no idea what awaited him next. There would be no appointments, no need to follow his parents’ strict routines. There were certain things he would still have to do for himself, but those were his choice to do, and that alone was worth everything.

He took in everything. The bustle of the train, the awe of the castle as they floated closer in the night. It was so big! Surely there would be enough to explore to keep him busy for months, but then classes? Extracurriculars? Getting to know new people? He couldn’t wait to get started.

If he wasn’t sure about magic before, the Great Hall was proof enough. They were certainly inside, yet the stairs shined above them anyway–and that was no skylight. As it turned out, the four different tables, and different colors, signified the four houses that a student might be sorted into. Ivan hadn’t the slightest clue which one he wanted to be in himself. He was sure there were others as in awe as he was, and others still that hoped to be sorted into the houses of their families and friends. Considering Ivan’s parents were non-magic, he didn’t have a preference–and if he did, it would have been their polar opposite.

As Cross was called fairly early on, Ivan didn’t have long to ponder. He stepped up as instructed and waited patiently as the sorting hat was placed upon him, tickled pink that a hat was making such an important decision. It was almost as if Ivan had walked through a portal into an opposite world. Whatever the decision, he was eager to see what was waiting for him next. "Alright, Sorting Hat. Do with me what you will."

                                                              xxxPERSONALITYxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

INQUISITIVE The two greatest questions a person can ask are “Why?” and “What would happen?”. Though filled with endless curiosity, Ivan won’t simply accept an answer at face value. He loves nothing more than to seek and find the answers out for himself with his own eyes, his own ears, and his own hands.

DETACHED Due to his upbringing, Ivan has difficulty forming lasting attachments. Any sentimental attachments were eventually viewed as a form of dependency and were disposed of or taken away “for his own good”. Yet, as he grows, his general indifference towards his possessions or even forging lasting friendships has created a new set of concerns for his parents who are stumped as to why he has developed a “Reactive Attachment Disorder”. If you ask Ivan, it’s because he simply doesn’t trust his parents after taking away safety blankets, pets, and his best friend for no good reason! What’s the purpose of getting attached when anything he loves is ripped from him the moment he lets his guard down? Still, it must be nice for those that can afford to.

ADAPTABLE While it’s annoying when things don’t go how you want or expect, Ivan accepts that this is just a regular part of life. It won’t do any good to fight against setbacks, so instead, he has learned to roll with the punches so to speak. With his family, for example, he’s learning that if he leans into their expectations of his regimen, he’s in for a much easier time. Is it lying? Yes. But sometimes you’ve just got to do what you’ve got to do if you want to make it. To make it outside the home, oftentimes it’s as simple as a smile.

CHARISMATIC It may be a challenge to forge a close relationship with Ivan, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t easy to get along with. On the contrary, Ivan is brimming with charm and a sharp wit. He enjoys engaging in conversation and debate, as well as getting to know those around him. He is an ever-friendly presence in and out of the classroom.

HUMOROUS Nothing like a healthy dose of laughter first thing in the morning. Ivan loves a good joke, even better to watch a prank or two unfold. He’ll even participate, when he’s feeling particularly cheeky. The world can be so serious; it’s nice to let loose and lighten things up now and again.

OPTIMIST Ivan won’t let a little rain ruin his day. A firm believer that everything happens for a reason, he is always on the lookout for his silver linings. No matter the situation, he can get through it, and come out on the other side better than ever.

                                                              ════════════════════════════════════════════════

                                                              OOC:
                                                              Username

Will the rain falling down ever find an ending?
All this time I've been waiting in the freezing cold
Will the rain ever leave me alone, I wonder why it chose
To follow me when there's nowhere else I can go

JULIETTE CORINNE DELACROIX

first year || unsorted || quarter veela
Daily Dragon Junior Writer and Camera Tripod || Quidditch Announcer-in-Training || Music Club appreciator

If not, there's always another project that those skills will help with.

xx Wʜᴇʀᴇ Aᴍ I? Great Hall
xxx Wʜᴏ Is Wɪᴛʜ Mᴇ? All my new friends!
xxxx Wʜᴀᴛ's Gᴏɪɴɢ Oɴ? Getting Sorted!
xxxxx Wʜᴀᴛ's Iɴsɪᴅᴇ Mʏ Hᴇᴀᴅ? This is gonna be awesome!

IT WAS FINALLY TIME! She'd been wanting to go to Hogwarts ever since she'd been adopted. Finley always had fun stories about school, which meant that Roxie was pretty much guaranteed to have fun. But extra fun because her two best friends were going to school too. They'd all get to be in a fun group. That morning, they'd floo'd over to the train platform, then they got to ride the train forever and get out.... like 20 feet from home. She looked over toward her house, spotting her big brother over there. She sent him a wild wave, which he happily returned, before she heard the call for all the first years.

Walking over with Jules and Flick, along with their new friend Uriel, the group climbed into a little boat. Roxie took hold of the lamp, but was pretty bad at holding it for sake of having to keep looking into the lake to see if she could spot anything down there. Once they made it safely to the castle, Roxie had to admit it was pretty intimidating up close. She'd never seen it from the grounds themselves, only from across the lake. The blonde followed the group, gasping in surprise at the inside. A boy at the Ravenclaw table was waving, but Roxie was pretty sure he was waving at Flick or Jules. Mostly because Roxie didn't know that kid...

After the sorting speech, Roxie was a little surprised to hear her own name echo first. Then again, Archer was pretty early in the alphabet. She nodded once, walking through the crowd up to the front. Sitting down, the hat was placed over her head, slightly smushing her intricate curls. "Please, dear hat, put me somewhere I can have lots of fun and make all the friends! Thank you!"

                                                                xxx𝓟𝒆𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂xxx

                                                                xxxxxSɪʟʟʏ:
Roxie has always been a big goofball. She loves making people laugh, and will always try to cheer up negative moods. She perpetually makes puns and struggles in situations requiring seriousness.

                                                                xxxxxFʀɪᴇɴᴅʟʏ:
There's never a soul Roxie meets that she doesn't try to befriend... except for bugs. Otherwise, she'll warm up to anyone and try to add them to her list of friends. Roxie loves having a big circle of friends, and will always try to make people want to join her circle.

                                                                xxxxxGᴜʟʟɪʙʟᴇ:
Due in part to her trusting nature, Roxie is insanely gullible. She believes people at their word and struggles with sarcasm. It would take a lot to make her question someone, but even then... she'd probably do the task requested.

                                                                xxxxxGᴇɴᴛʟᴇ:
Despite her hyper side, Roxanne is gentle and as careful as possible. She's always trying to mind her words and actions so she doesn't upset anyone or anything. After all, why would someone want to befriend a meanie?

                                                                xxxxxCʀᴇᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ:
Roxanne is incredibly imaginative, both in her playing pretend and in her thought process. Sometimes it doesn't make sense to anyone but her, and that's okay. She channels her creativity in all sorts of ways, mostly music and art.

                                                                xxxxxTʀᴜsᴛɪɴɢ:
Thanks in part to her friendliness, Roxie trusts everyone, despite circumstance. Why would people be mean for no reason, right? This has so far not led her astray, and despite warnings that some people were just bad, Roxie believes each person has a heart of gold.

xxxx❀ Wʜᴀᴛ's Gᴏɪɴɢ Oɴ? This is stupid
xxxxx❀ Wʜᴀᴛ's Iɴsɪᴅᴇ Mʏ Hᴇᴀᴅ? What if the hat says my house is Wool's and they just kick me out?

Csuri... couldn't tell if she was excited by this whole thing. Sure, she had a break from Wool's, but it would pretty much be the same thing in a different place. She'd still be in a shared room with virtual strangers, still around a bunch of people she wouldn't ever care about, and still in classes she really didn't understand. But, here she was, all dressed up in borrowed clothes for a performance she didn't wish to attend. After a long, long train ride (one and a half books worth!), they finally made it to another little magical community.

The group took a little boat ride over to the actual castle, which was... weird? Why did they have to ride on the boats when the older kids got a nice cart ride? After scrambling up to the docks, the kids all walked in a line up to the actual castle. The teacher that was walking them explained a bit about the castle and the sorting, which Csuri listened to with only about half her attention. This place had way, way too many creepy old paintings. Not to mention the massive amount of stairs. When they got into the great hall, Csuri frowned at the noise and sheer amount of people. The professor gave a little speech, then started the actual process. Her name was spoken after only a few others.

Csuri bowed her head, messy curls falling forward as she squeezed through all the other kids and sat on the stool. The sorting hat fell over her eyes, which she closed. "This is stupid. There's no way a hat can read thoughts. It's just random selection. Well, either way. Put me somewhere quiet. Csuri genuinely believes there is no such thing as a "good person". She believes all people that are seemingly good are just better at hiding their true evils inside. She doesn't dislike humanity, but thinks that everyone alive is secretly horrible to the core. There isn't a person alive that she thinks truly cares about others, and in turn, she doesn't genuinely care about anyone, including herself.

                                                                xxxxxQᴜɪᴇᴛ:
No matter what is going on around her, Csuri tends to remain silent. She speaks, but only in short sentences, usually just enough to get by. She scoots by on her quiet nature, preferring not to make any noise that draws attention to herself. She's not nearly wild enough for anything like parties or instruments anyway.

                                                                xxxxxRᴇsᴇʀᴠᴇᴅ:
Csuri has become incredibly good at bottling up her emotions over the years. She rarely tells anyone about her feelings or thoughts, partially because she's afraid of becoming more outcast than usual. It takes a lot to get her to speak about herself, even in the barest of terms.

                                                                xxxxxIɴᴛᴇʟʟɪɢᴇɴᴛ:
Despite her silence on nearly every topic, Csuri is incredibly smart. She reads books and learns quickly, even though she'll always refuse to answer questions in school. She often uses her intelligence in odd ways, including sneaking facts into her speech... whenever it is that she speaks, anyway.

                                                                xxxxxAᴘᴀᴛʜᴇᴛɪᴄ:
Csuri doesn't ever seem to care about much of anything. Someone could get stabbed in front of her, and it's likely that she'd just stare off into the distance, frowning all the while. While she does care, she's just learned that she's almost always better off seeming completely heartless, if only just to get people to leave her alone.

                                                                xxxxxPᴇʀꜰᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴɪsᴛ:
Secretly, Csuri is a total perfectionist. This manifests in her schoolwork, writing, and other small tasks she does. It's rare to see her hand in an assignment that she didn't spend hours on, revising and editing constantly, and she does that with any sort of project. Unfortunately, most projects are things affecting only her, so it's rather hard to see her passion of perfection sometimes.

"Just be yourself - there is no one better."

Flick hated getting to the platform. The first year was meant to be an experience - so much so that Roxie had been brought over so she could ride the train with them all. However, as Flick was about to board the train, their mother Kadence had seen them, grabbed their wrist, and tried talking about apologies and how Kadence was better. The entire time - calling Flick her little girl. Flick was rescued when Nim caught sight of Kadence and made a beeline back to Flick - stepping between the mother and child. Nim and Wren made sure it was okay, and then escorted Flick onto the train.

Once on the train, Flick was content sitting with Jules, Roxie, and Uriel - they were having a great time. However, Erikk and some boy named Zack who said he was a cousin, came to say hi and tried to see how Flick was doing. No - Flick wanted to be not near them. They switched seats into the window seat, where their friends would block anyone else from touching them at least.

Finally - Flick was at Hogwarts. They rode the boats into Hogwarts and it was beautiful. they were all escorted in - and a Ravenclaw waved to their little group. So there were some nice people at Hogwarts. After an eternity, Flick Winchester was called. Flick hoped to be in the same house as their friends, but desperately hoped they wouldn't get Gryffindor or Slytherin - the houses of their Father, and brothers (and cousin??). As Flick walked up Alarick - their father - shouted "THATS MY KID!" ugh.

Flick sat and had the hat put on them, "Hi hat, can this hurry? also if you take requests, maybe Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw?"

xxxPERSONALITY ____xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hesitant Flick used to love talking to anyone and everyone - but after so many close to them kicking Flick out of their life, or being killed, Flick didn't want to be too close to people. It was safer that way.
Perceptive Flick was good at figuring people out. Why they were sad, why they were happy. They could see more into people's true selves - and studied why they felt that way, what would make them better.
Mimic Flick likes to act like anyone else around them. Dominik wants to be a circus performer? I will too. Sparrow wants to be dramatic, Flick will mirror the actions. If Flick is around kids their age, they would act more whimsical, around parents, they were more serious.
Idealistic Flick began aiming for perfection - if they were perfect, then they wouldn't lose anyone else again. They would tell stories from their imagination, but would shut it down quickly when it suddenly wasn't going as well as it should have.
Kind/Agreeable Flick wants everyone to be happy, and has realized at a young age that by agreeing with them, they are happier and nicer. Flick wanted to be helpful when they could, to not be a burden.
Noncompetitive Where so many of Flicks blood siblings were competitive, Flick didn't have that - Flick grew up in a smaller family with the Winchesters and grew strong in patience. There was no worry of getting the best piece of cake, everyone was equal. Flick would try to make everything equal, rather than one is superior.

xxxEXTRA NOTE FOR SORTER ____xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Putting Flick in Slytherin or Gryffindor would give them a good plot for reconnecting with their family (Erikk) - so don't cut those out just because Flick asked!

Also you're awesome if you're reading this.

xxxx Wʜᴀᴛ's Gᴏɪɴɢ Oɴ? A little Ceremony
xxxxx Wʜᴀᴛ's Iɴsɪᴅᴇ Mʏ Hᴇᴀᴅ? I wish Mama was here to watch

Bieito was pretty excited to be going to school. He'd been raised alongside a very cranky tutor his whole life, so this was a huge change. Not that he was terribly upset, getting to spend time away from home. He was sure his mom would enjoy her free time, too. She'd even mentioned taking a vacation. He was happy for her. After flooing himself to the station, Bee wandered through the crowd of people for a while before finding where to place his luggage. He felt a little out of place in his three-piece suit, but he wanted to look super nice for his first day.

While riding the train, he overheard some kids talking about the heads of the school, and when he heard Milan Wellbelove's name, he felt his heart fill with excitement. This truly would be a lovely year! He found a nice little spot to sit, only one other person and she seemed to be too engrossed with a book to notice him. He sat quietly, looking mostly out the window. He'd never been on a train longer than a few minutes, so he hadn't thought to bring anything to occupy his attention. Oh well, he was used to entertaining himself.

Once at the school, they got to take a quaint boat ride across the dark lake, then they walked into the castle itself. Bieito couldn't help but be impressed by the architecture of the castle. It also had so many cool old paintings and neat stonework... Yep. This would be a pretty great place! Once they walked into the Great Hall, Bieito noticed the stars shining on them from above. Blue eyes sparkled with delight at the dazzling array, the boy noticing floating candles and hidden beams. It was pretty sweet. While the sorting speech was happening, Bieito couldn't help his wandering eyes. He noticed all three Wellbelove girls at one table, all wearing a lovely emerald green... but where was their brother? He looked around a bit more, before finally noticing him over at the table all clad in a nice navy blue. Why was he sitting away from his sisters?

Bee was almost too lost in thought when his name was called, but managed to shake himself free. He hurried to the front, sitting on the stool, and donned a little grin as the hat fell over his head and pushed his glasses down his nose. Where would he end up? Would he end up with his idols, or all alone? Would he make friends with anyone, or would he just continue to walk his lonely path? Perhaps this neat hat could answer a question or two.

Bieito has always been creative, though usually never had anyone to share his talent with. His creativity usually manifests in anything fashion related, since that was what he was raised around. He’s also pretty good with watercolors.

Even as a little guy, he’d use plastic utensils to make sandwiches or whatever to get by until Momma came home with some healthy shakes and smoothies.

                                                          xxxxxSᴜᴘᴇʀsᴛɪᴛɪᴏᴜs:

From tossing salt to avoiding sidewalk cracks, Bieito tried them all. His favorite by far is wearing mis-matched socks to avoid bad luck... not that it always helps.

                                                ╚══════════════════════════╝

                                                ((OOC: outfit in left picture))

Charlotte was so excited for Hogwarts that she had barely slept a wink the night before, causing her to sleep the majority of the train ride to Hogsmeade once the adrenaline had settled down. By the time she had awoken, a few older students had joined her in the compartment, but they all seemed too enthralled in their own gossip to pay her any attention. They left her alone, so she took the very little time she had left on the ride to snap back into reality and freshen herself up in the bathroom by spraying water onto her face. Upon arrival, Charlotte followed the others, gathering in front of the Groundskeeper before climbing into boats that made their way across the Black Lake towards the castle that loomed over them. The first year had seen how the castle looked from photos that her father had taken when he was a student, but somehow, even the ultra realistic moving photos did not do the school justice. “That’s ******** big,” she couldn’t help but mutter. However, it seemed that she had spoken loudly enough for two of the other kids in her boat to snicker at her comment, meanwhile the third looked at her in horror. “What, never heard a curse word before?” Charlotte asked tauntingly before turning her attention back to the castle.

Charlotte lined up with the other first years after scrambling out of the boat, feeling the adrenaline rush come back as they filed into the Great Hall. She wasn’t particularly nervous about the sorting considering she practically knew which house she’d get – Gryffindor: the same as both of her parents. Additionally, from what she learned about the four houses, she thought she fit in best with that one regardless of previous familial sortings. Once her name had been called, Charlie had wandered up to the front and waited for the hat to call out her house.

HARDWORKING Charlotte always puts her all into whatever she's doing, whether it is working on a school project or on her volleyball serve.
ATHLETIC Char enjoys playing all sorts of sports, but she also enjoys board/card games, and playing make belief games.
UNPREDICTABLE At times, Charlotte reacts in ways others wouldn't see coming. She may get into a routine, and then decide to switch it up seemingly randomly.
PREOCCUPIED Charlotte is always thinking about something. While her mind may be focused, others around her may view her as distracted if they try to hold a conversation with her when she is lost in thought.
COARSE Although Char was taught better than that, she does tend to be rude to others or say things that are offensive. Once she learns a new swear word, she uses it until it feels old (and even then she sometimes doesn't stop using it).
TASTELESS When in serious situations or at times when she shouldn't react, Charlotte tends to lack in judgement. She may laugh, make a snarky comment or do something else that is considered by others to be inappropriate behaviour.

                                                Are you o v e r l o a d e d , candy coated? Your life's i m p l o d i n g now.
                                                There's a risk worth taking, a pain worth a c h i n g on this hollow ground

Callum Robert Snatch (Snatchy Lum)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
xxxxxxxxx
Wearing: Second Hand Robes
------------------------------------------------------------------------xx

Callum had slept bad for the week leading up to going to Hogwarts. It had seemed Hex the bloody stupid pest and poltergeist was determined to give Callum a "proper" send off. Flipped beds. Food in the face. Thorns tickling his toes. Callum basically had to sleep with both eyes open which wasn't great for sleeping. Now that Callum was on the train and boats and now the Great Hall, he couldn't help but notice all the things he could nick. Things from his classmates. Things from the adults. Things from the school. Everyone was so careless but it was a good way to get kicked out if he got caught. Hogwarts was his job and duty to the Paddy Gang. He was going to do this right even if he didn't like it.

Approaching the line he waited until his name was called. He strode up to the hat with his held high and waiting for the grungy old hat to be put on his head. This thing could read his thoughts, right? Well it better do good or he'd set the stupid thing on fire. Quietly he muttered, "Put me where it'll help the Paddy lot best."

                                                Personality

HARDWORKING Paddy Boss has always made it clear that everyone has a role to play and a job to do. And the Paddy Gang does it. Callum believes in earning his keep and puts his all in making sure he does.
LOYAL An ounce of kindness and honesty towards Callum goes a long way. If you show you are worth it you will earn Callum's unwavering, undying loyalty just like the Paddy Gang.
IRRITABLE/ANGRY Emotional calm was never modeled properly for Callum between his parents explosive fights and profane ridden rants towards the police and government alike by the gang or about rival gangs in Dublin and close by he thought being angry is normal. Worse, Callum is not naturally patient and the small things like a clicking pen just makes him go crazy.
HONEST The Paddy Gang (Callum included) might have sticky fingers but they have honesty too. Callum might be a thief and a lookout and a distraction but he is not going to lie when it counts.
CUTTHROAT Look life is tough. Some people get born with a silver spoon in their mouth and the rest of the world gets everything from a tin fork to a mouthful of ash. This isn't Callum's problem, it is just the way things are. If he has to con a few silver spoon fed sods to get so much as a fork for himself how is that his problem? He has no problem cheating and stealing his way up the ladder. Just another form of work, right? He's just like Robin Hood without being bogged down by beggars too lazy to do something themselves.
WILLFUL Callum has lived in a harsh world despite the Paddy Gang's kindness (he assumes because he is useful) and it quickly forms a black and white view of the world around him. He knows what is right and what is wrong and no one is going to change his mind. Well, probably Paddy Boss but the boss is always right, right?

                                                ------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Professor set the hat down carefully on the student's head. For a moment the hat was silent before speaking....
Slytherin, eh? Is that so?
Shrewd and Sly, but Loyal to Family
It seems you may be correct--

Halfblood | Seer | Unsorted First Year | Eleven Years Old
September 1, 2059 Sorting Feast With: Flick, Jules, The Infamous Roxie, and many others.
Wearing: Uniform, but with a black button-up. Status: "Probably could have prepared for this better."

═══════════════════XXXX═══════════════════

The Professor set the hat down carefully on the student's head. For a moment the hat was silent before speaking....
You'll learn some of the charms in classes,
but not everything, as you know, has a perfect answer.
