ninja Wash and Shepard Book died...well, Shepard died closer to the middle, but still... Wash was one of my favorite characters. ninja

Yeah Wash was one of my favourites too. Even his death was kinda funny. in an ironic way anyway. But was sad

True, it was somewhat of a humorous death. But that's why I liked him, he was funny.

Yep, the Five Man Band. It consists of The Hero — The leader of the group. Can be clean-cut and upstanding, bold and charismatic, serious and driven, or some combination of the three.
The Lancer — The second-in-command, usually a contrast to The Hero. If the Hero is clean-cut and/or uptight, the Lancer is a grizzled Anti Hero or Deadpan Snarker; if the Hero is driven and somewhat amoral, the Lancer is more relaxed and level-headed. He is usually The Rival to the hero either as a friend or former enemy. Tends to be attracted to The Chick, if he's not attracted to The Hero instead.
The Smart Guy — The physically weak, but intelligent or clever member. Often nerdy and awkward played for comic relief. Sometimes a trickster and a buddy of the Big Guy. May be the one with all the "street" connections.
The Big Guy — The strongman of the team. May be dumb. Or mute.
The Chick — A peacekeeping role to balance out the other members aggression, bringing them to a nice or at least manageable medium. Not always female, but is usually taken by the Token Girl, hence the name. Sometimes written as "the useless girl", which can cause a backlash from the fans. Sometimes replaced by or overlaps with the Action Girl. If Kaylee is the Smart One, then Wash has to be the chick... Also, note that the Lancer is often attracted to The Chick. 3nodding Guess which one's The Big Guy...

The Hero=Mal
The Lancer=Zoe
The Smart Guy=Kaylee
The Big Guy=Jayne
The Chick=Wash
After watching the one where they get caught after screwing up the thrain job, that makes some sense...
EDIT: Actually, maybe switch Jayne and Zoe...

@ Rolly: I don't know. Couldn't Simon also be considered the Smart guy? WAit no, Kaylee would suit that more. Shes friends with the Big guy and everyone and such etc

friend had a house party and i got drunk. mrgreen
while drunk went to a 24 hr convenience store and saw a guy with short short's. XD my friends and i laughed our a** off.
