I'm growing it back out since it's been short since I was 13 and this is the shortest it's ever been.

Okay let me rephrase that. My hair was longer at birth than yours is now and have been longer than that since then. It was 2 and perhaps a half inch. can't really say for sure looking in my birthcetificate.
