Virgil explained simply, he just was not going to accept his friends dying on him, no matter what.

"You should work on your descriptions a bit if you want to ask people if they've seen them.", Drinn says. Not that she was much better at describing people, but at least she actually gives physical descriptions and not just 'really hot' or 'he's a douche'.
