TORNADO WING
V’kenti of bronze Takarath [Wingleader]

HP: 38/41
Status Effect: Tongue Bitten Effect! [1/3]
XP: [+1 Target Accuracy] | [+1 Instinct] |
Target Accuracy: 7
Flame Length: 6
General Stamina: 7
General Agility: 6
Between Accuracy: 7
Pain Resilience: 7
Instinct: 7
Luck: 6

Takarath blinked out of Between to see a string of thread right infront of their exit point. V'kenti sighed as the bronze flamed it down. My tongue hurts. "I know." V'kenti replied. It seemed like this threadfall was much tougher than the last couple of falls, but it was so hard to really predict until the day of it was always roulette to see what you'd get that day.

[Roll 1/5]
    16. You appear from Between only to find yourself in the perfect spot to catch a sliver of Thread. You successfully flame it down easily. [+1 Target Accuracy]

[Roll 2/5]
    8. Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Right before they belch forth their flame, they suddenly jerk hard to the right, almost in a roll, and quite unexpectedly. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]

[Roll 3/5]
    6. A strong gust of wind suddenly pushes you off course and right into a sliver of Thread! If you're a bronze or brown, you or your dragon take a scathing hit, unable to get out of the way. [Minor Damage -3 HP] If you're a blue or green, you wind up twisting easily out of the way, flaming it down successfully! [+1 Stamina]

[Roll 4/5]
    1. Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]

[Roll 5/5]
    16. You appear from Between only to find yourself in the perfect spot to catch a sliver of Thread. You successfully flame it down easily. [+1 Target Accuracy]

Once they were sure he had been submerged enough, A'dras was helped out of the tank. Gareth was watching the sky still, keeping his eyes on the wing and giving A'dras the needed updates. Even though they were currently grounded, that didn't mean they stopped what they were doing.

Of course just getting dunked didn't mean everything was okay and back to normal. The man moved to sit on the cot, after putting on the new pants that had been brought to him. Luckily, or unluckily, the Thread that had gotten through his riding gear had been in the meat of his back, tracing down from his left shoulder and to his hip. The wound stung and was still bleeding some. The man hissed as he felt the healer begin to dig into the wound in search for any Thread that might still be in there.

---------------------------------------------------------

Round 1
[1]The wind picks up, and you fight to keep in formation. Your wings strain, but you're able to keep your place! Though your muscles ache, you're not going to give up so easily. Pern depends on you! +2 Stamina
[2] You take a direct hit from Thread! The question is, where!? Roll a D4. D4: Thread hits your leg and side, as well as your dragon's back and shoulders. Though you immediately jump between, some of the Thread is partially protected by your riding gear. As you return from its cold, and continue on the fight, it takes a moment to realize the wriggling Thread has eaten through your clothes, and is starting to burrow into you!!! GET BACK BETWEEN AND BACK TO THE WEYR TO BE DUCKED! Major Damage: -12 HP Your next post must be with the healers so you can get ducked into the pools, in hopes of drowning the borrowing Thread. Death is also an option
[3] The healer looks at your wound and gives a shake of their head. The prognosis doesn't look good, but they're determined to patch you up as best they can! Return Request Denied! Regain +5 HP but re-roll from the Healers Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return
    [4]
    [5]

Wingleader Chance Rolls
[1]5-7. If a Wingleader, you were so focused on chewing out one of your wingriders who pulled a stupid move, that you actually miss catching a large clump of Thread that's falling right past you. A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP!

FLYING SECOND WAVE

"Oyath, that was - " A'ye had been watching the skies, as were all those around him, when an overly familiar form suddenly took what looked to be a devastating hit. Fear ran though him even though he told himself to calm down, to not panic and just focus on getting ready to fly, but his mind wasn't listening. "I'm going!"

The green beneath him hissed, not allowing her rider off before she popped them both to where she knew the bronze would likely be. They had time before their wave and so there was no harm in calming her rider's fears. They needed to survive this Fall and if making A'ye relax would help, Oyath would do it. She had barely landed before her rider was off, demonstrating some rather amazing strap-removal. If she wasn't annoyed at this distraction, Oyath would have been impressed.

"S'del!! Kindeth!" The greenrider was quickly at the pairs side, and before he could stop himself he'd grabbed S'del's head to look at his face. "What happened?! Are you alright?! How's Kindeth?!" Blue eyes searched a face that seemed free of injury, and he let the rider go in order to turn towards his beast. "Thread, to the face?"

His voice was shaking, his whole body was shaking. Oyath hissed her disapproval, warning A'ye to calm down.

This wind really packs a punch, doesn't it? H'sad thought to his blue, even as Cinonth tried to stay well in formation. Any other day and the blue would have been streaking through the sky, catching the wind, and letting it throw them around -- but with Threadfall surrounding them this high up, the small blue knew they were easily in trouble. If the wind was too strong, they'd get blown right into thread!

It's a bit rough, yes. Cinonth cheerful exclaimed, even as he fought against a strong gust. H'sad winced as he felt the pain run through the blue's wing -- the smallest of muscles already strained. Well. Nothing to do but carry on...

This was a moment that Dr'stan had been born for. When the Bronze had appeared and dunked his head directly into a large tub, the Greenrider was on the move. Ichor stained the water green, and if the rider's shape was any indication, he was in trouble. Kit strapped around his body, the rider ran. Cynosuth sent a wave of encouragement to the wounded Bronze, coming to join her rider at his side. She gave a little croon, trying to reassure him that all would be well! You are so brave, Kindeth, to fly with such a wound. But my Dr'stan will heal you. You are in the best of hands! The sweet weyrling peered at the pair, trying to be a good help.

N'var and Soreth came from between with a wild hollar from the young man. Despite the danger and potential for death he was excited. Soreth's eyes swirled with a tint of orange as he mentally chided N'var. Do try to focus. I will be beyond cross if I were to be badly Threadscored because you were distracted by being a fool. N'var chuckled to himself as he nodded. Of course dearest Soreth. Forgive me. The two flamed a nearby patch before a gust of wind slammed into them. Soreth tried to correct quickly but it was too late, he could feel the sudden sting of pain as the clump settled on his hip before the stern order came. Between! The man bit back a further string of words as the cold rush hit him and then they were back. He checked himself and then the brown quickly before he managed a sigh of relief. How is it? Its fine Soreth. It didn't even manage to get past my leathers. You? It stung. But it is dead. I will live.

Low Altitude. To be honest, Seikih had been watching the sky, the movements of the stars to ready for Threadfall, her eyes intent on the horizon every night. Today had come, and the thread was thick in the air. She could feel Kath buzzing with energy, Normally bright blue eyes were tinged with orange, the starry green dancing in her straps, "Kath, hold still. I can't adjust properly if you don't stop dancing around." Perhaps her tone was a bit sharp, but Seikih had always been one for practicality over fun, preferring to be ready for everything, But MINE! It is Threadfall, we must hurry hurry, and get up to help our Wing! I am ready to show what we can do! The excitement and anxiety in Kath's breast burned in Seikih's own, the girl distracted by her dragon's thoughts. It was due to this that the two launched up in to the air without something rather important.

A loud curse could be heard from the young member of Tornado wing, her teeth gritting as she glared at the back of a Green head, "Thank you, silly girl. We don't have Firestone. We're going to have to call someone to get it. One of the Ashlings." That got a trill from Kath, who looked at the group before reaching out.

Xaphrith's words came through to Ddraigth and the bronze sent another touch of fondness and a quick check over on them. Aniela would like for you two to sit down and enjoy dinner with one another when this is over. Dr'stan was certainly glad there was no real threat at the moment, as he was shocked about what was going on. He was forced to quickly put that from his mind as things changed quickly.

Ddraigth had no trouble dodging the clumps, but it was hard for the large bronze to move around them. He didn't get any of them on him or his rider, however and was very pleased about that. He was getting better at being more agile, especially for a bronze.

V'kenti was keeping a close eye on his wing, as much as he could anyway. with receiving information form his wingseconds, he felt they were operating pretty smoothly. Thread was perhaps new to them, but T'at and Ness both were treating it rather like mercenary work, twisting and twining efficiently, with Nessuth's flame blasting quickly what he could. What T'at did not expect was a belch of flame to suddenly throw hot ash back against his face, and Ness' as well. The dragon let out only an irritable rumble, his Rider grimacing. Pain or not, there was thread to fight. They'd had worse on the road. Shard it, there was a job to be done.

Asuracath whipped her head around towards the green, eyes narrowing, tail twitching dangerously. There were some not at all even and fair words ready to spring, but then riders began to Between and descend. And while neither she nor Efrideet knew the pair, it was easy enough to understand the pain of a loved one being hurt--and so the white bite down her words and knead the ground in futility.

Efrideet didn't envy healers. "He seems strong," she offered to the green. "He'll make it."

A'dras hit the ground as well, and a twinge of fear began to creep into them both. It wasn't a sight anyone would ever get used to, or should. But they knew better than to go and get in the way of the healers out of concern.

IT SPITS IN YOUR FACE AND IT WILL PAY DEARLY, Asuracath encouraged, keeping her fierce words to Gareth alone in a moment of rare courtesy. YOU WILL BURN THE SKY CLEAN FOR THIS INSULT.

Al'ndru's words seemed to finally get through Alucarth and the small bronze turned all of his attention and fury towards the silver enemy. They ducked and weaved through the clumps of thread and even with the wound upon his face, Al'ndru leaned towards Alucarth. How are you feeling?

The bronze let out a huff as he replied. I told you, I am fine. My stamina is fine. I can go just as long as the others can. The wound is not bothering me at all.

Perhaps it was Alumet's irritation at having missed something that had Zenobiath alert, or perhaps the madness that surrounded them, but as the pair flew with the Wing, they were now alert. Although it seemed he was regaining his strength back slowly, Amroth was still not at the top of his game.
