The Yellow Blue had been quietly looking, when movement caught his eye. Beligian seemed to be approaching, and with a startled creel, the blue immediately retreated, running back closer to his mother. His eyes were a bright yellow-white, full of fear, and it was clear he wanted to be left alone.
Susurinth, as relaxed as she seemed to be, did NOT appreciate this. Immediately, she gave a warning growl and lowered her head. Refrain yourself. She spoke slowly, so the Candidate would understand. They will come to you. If you approach, you might spook them Between, or anger them. Please, let them alone. Her growl was low, threatening, but she did not make a further move. That should suffice for now, shouldn't it?
----
The Green Zig-Zag Egg finally gave a loud crack and shattered, spilling a.... bronze!? Yes, the color of this one was vibrant, but once free of his shell, it was obvious that it was nothing but fool's gold. Shaking out his wings, the bright bronze gave a might bugle of success, before strutting towards the Candidates like he was king of the beach. Maybe he really was.

[ renose...no, r'ose of green sahrawith - HR ]
It felt like getting punched in the stomach. The same sort of emotions one would expect when everything happens all at once. Happiness, sadness, fear and delight. The complete sensation of never being alone again, and the sheer terror of what that meant. It meant that Renose, after standing for three or so turns on hot sands and melting beneath the sun in the southern bowl....had Impressed. To what? To whom? The voice in his head had him swaying around to look, disoriented and dizzy and THRILLED AND ELATED and terrified and uneasy and -
Mine? Are you alright? The soft voice spoke again, chasing away all thoughts with a refreshing breeze that felt of crispness and echoed of coolness. I'm here. Let's get out of the sun, both of us don't need to be cracked and flaking. The sweet voice paused as the dragonet drew close, her snout touching into Renose's hand. Afterwards, let's play. I want to see everything, I want to know your world. Our world.
Renose stopped in his thoughts and patted her head, a wide grin breaking out over his face that was red with both heat and love. He was a rider now, for better or worse he supposed, and this dragonet at his side was going to be with him for that entire journey. They'd made it, even if no one else thought they would. He'd make sure they did, no matter who or what stood in their way. He had a goal in mind, and he could feel his beloved echoing her approval. "Come on, let's get you fed and oiled up. Your hunger is making my stomach hurt, and I'm sure we'll both be nasty peelers if we don't do something about it."
I don't want to be a peeler. That sounds awful. Sahrawith shook her head as she trotted alongside Renose - now R'ose, he had to think to himself, towards where food and oil waited. The start of a new adventure!

Kinyegele
"Oh!"
Kinye's mouth seemed to form a perfect O as the Green Zig Zag egg hatched and out spilled not a gold - but a bronze! And quite a proud one at that! How many boys were going to replace the girl's who had desired it so?
All of them, probably.
"Oh! He's yours!" Kinye said brightly, then paused when Ionan asked about Tass. Hmmmm. "I dunno. Do you think he'd enjoy a flashy boy like that one or a more reserved on like that poor blue?" it had run back to his mother - and she didn't blame it. Mother was such a safe place to be!
------
Juhvek
Well! A blue and now not a gold - but a bronze! And another hatching claw that seemed metallic - another bronze? Not that he particularly saw himself riding a metallic, but he could practically feel Phaedrath oozing approval at the strut of the new young hatchling as he made his way across the sand.
Oh yes, she would have definitely liked him on that one!
----
Martirae The blue caused a painful well in Marty's mind - but only because she'd loosened the tight noose of her thoughts ever so much. Not that she'd hold such thoughts against this one - that was a foolish thing to do.
But then the gold everybody so desired turned out to be a swaggering, handsome bronze. Not something she could have, after all, and she tied up that thought in and of itself. Maybe the girls could breathe now that the boys were going to start tripping on themselves with want for it.
Plus there was the other egg that was struggling to hatch, though somewhat noisily about the whole thing. Hmm.
Not to mention, the dark green that would likely be looking for hers now that she knew her sister was impressed. What kind of rider would she choose?

Jagmund
It struck the Candidate as funny that no one else was moving away from all the dangerous claws. Didn't they remember what happened last time...? Oh. He stared as the green playfully pounced on her sister, and everything was fine. There was no reason to scream or swear or even protect his fellow Candidates... he was such a fool. His face turned a bright colour that had nothing to do with an impending sunburn and wished, for the first time in his life, that he could sink into the sand and disappear.
He glanced at Beligian to apologize, just to realize the Candidate was now missing his pants. Jagmund snorted, then chuckled, and then outright started laughing to the point of hysterics. His panic had ebbed away into something like temporary insanity, he would claim, from the relief. And seeing the other Candidate with no pants was suddenly the funniest thing in the entire world.
The younger Candidate didn't seem to care as he wandered away from the greens (oh, one Impressed to a boy) and towards the blue, just to be chided for his actions by the mother. Oh man, the blue was a shy little guy, wasn't he? Jagmund was careful not to go near as he calmed his laugher. Farenth's ghost, he was going to have to work to save any face he had left. Perhaps Impressing the bronze of his dreams would help...
Speaking of, there were bronzes on the sands! Jagmund stifled another giddy giggle threatening to make itself heard and stared longingly, willing one of them to come over. Please, please pay attention to me.

Akaris
Akaris was just starting to feel better - not great, but better - when the golden mother, who thus far had been very lovely and non-threatening, started to growl. Not at her, thank Faranth, but it was a sound that sent chills through her nonetheless, and she once against inched closer to Rylyrr. Why did golds have to be so..so... The girl frowned and turned her attention back to what the remaining hatchlings were doing, including a few she'd missed while preoccuppied with the rude green. There was a nervous little blue out and about, something shiny was trying to escape its egg, and now there was a lovely, excellent bronze parading across the sand.
"Ohh, he's so handsome!" she cooed, looking to Rylyrr with a smile. Maybe that one was his? As long as he was nice as well as handsome, unlike the one from Western's last Hatching.

Ezyzu - Western Candidate
Perhaps not a gold but a bronze, but still exciting! “Yay!” He had made it, wasnt that wonderful? The little bronze certainly looked like the little king of the beach, now he just had to go find His. Her gaze drifted over, lighting up as Impression was made -- someone she had not recognized, maybe from High Reaches? Quite possibly. But he and the little green looked like quite the pair, and she beamed. One down, many more matches to be made!
A startled creel drew her attention sharply back, seeing the little motionless blue suddenly back away as another candidate approached. Oh, no.. “Don’t be afraid little one,” Her voice was calmer, not like the stronger words of encouragement. Spoken to the air around her, to no particular person. “It’ll be okay.”
Ezyzu gently took a couple steps away to the side, trying to get a better view of the eggs still shaking and keep a good distance to not startle the little blue or shift the queen’s ire onto her -- and near bumped into another candidate. Tall, someone she didn’t know -- another High Reaches candidate? “I’m sorry--” she starts, but the eggs drew her attention again. It was hard to not keep them at the center of attention, as well as the newly hatched running around. “Oh, that one’s having a bit of trouble too. Did you see that bronze? He’s quite handsome!”

Papys
He was like a cat that had been pet unexpectedly - only in a good way. When Ezuyu bumped into him, Papys just beamed cheerily, looking down at her with a friendly wave. "Oh! Hello! Yes! We had a lovely green impress and now we have a handsome blue and a bronze! And of course the feisty green!"
Papys leaned in close as he spoke, almost as if being conspiratorial about the whole thing; "I was rather surprised that bronze wasn't actually a gold, but what do you think about your chances with the others, hmmm? One of them strike your fancy?" Of course, every candidate felt like every dragon should be theirs, but the bronze was almost as swaggerful as he himself was!
Oh! It would have been quite the match, now wouldn't it?
Ah, but the other egg was now rolling away! "Oh! Look at it go! Roll little friend! Go! Go!!" he cheered it on, despite it...likely not being what the Ducky Egg wanted.
