Confidence and boredom got the better of them, just for a moment. K'srin kicked himself for it, but he was overconfident. A burst of wind from behind sent some thread barreling towards them; it hit K'srin squarely on the back, and the pair hopped between before it could do longer-lasting damage. Still, it stung, but shards...it wasn't so bad that they couldn't continue. He was fine. For now.

Your dragon hits a sudden thermal of air, threatening to push them up unexpectedly, and to miss their target! If a bronze or brown, thankfully, your dragon is able to fight the current of air, and keep their position steady. [+1 Stamina]
Before they had time to adjust, the wind currents shifted, as Cyndreth reached a thermal. The bronze adjusted his wings and positioning, changing the force of his beating wings ever so slightly, with practiced ease.

A strong gust of wind suddenly pushes you off course and right into a sliver of Thread! If you're a bronze or brown, you or your dragon take a scathing hit, unable to get out of the way. [Minor Damage -3 HP] If you're a blue or green, you wind up twisting easily out of the way, flaming it down successfully! [+1 Stamina]
The wind tugged Miehrath away from his carefully selected placement, and he found himself shifting helplessly into a single thread. Well, not helplessly--he proved that much by twisting out of the way, using his smaller form to his advantage, and shooting a short burst of fire towards the strand.
Trying valiantly to catch some thread, your dragon flames a bit sooner than you would have preferred. Surprisingly enough, the flame is long, hot, and sustained longer than usual. Your dragon manages to flame the clump and return to their position in their wing. [+1 Flame Length]
A bit of thread twitched closer, caught on the unpredictable wind currents. Miehrath surged forward, determined to flame it as it approached--but the wind shifted, and he flamed a bit earlier than he should have. To his pleasant surprise, the flame hit thread, spanning farther than he'd ever seen it before. After the long, brilliant fire subsided, they returned to position.

What was with the wind? Sure, threadfall could be windy, but it felt like Miehrath was being shoved around by the wind constantly. Pushed away from formation once again, Miehrath managed to narrowly avoid some thread, flaming it and tumbling out of the way. Nice aerials, Onyx thought to her dragon, grinning with pride.

Oh no, look out! A small clump of thread broke through the ranks, and has managed to hit your and your dragon. It is an ugly tangle, and though you blink between, it's going to hurt! [Moderate Damage -5 HP. You are now flying with a Painful status effect. This will negate your next immediate rolls XP and double damage if the roll includes set damage (or has you roll for damage).
A clump of thread, nasty looking and likely extremely painful, was coming right towards them. Thankfully, Nasath was there to save the day, flaming the thread with ease. Only ash touched them, but it wasn't hot enough to leave even a small burn. Thank you, Noble Nasath, Miehrath replied, relieved.

Ouch! Feeding your dragon some firestone has resulted in them biting their tongue! This is going to distract your dragon for the next three rolls. Their flaming aim will go down, and they might be slower to dodge out of Thread's way. [Tongue Bitten Effect! Your dragon is distracted by pain. No XP will be earned for the next 3 rolls. Any successes will be nullified. Should you roll a prompt with the possibility of damage, take the max damage allotted for your size/color automatically but it will also end the Tongue Bitten Effect immediately.]
Oof. Don't be too relieved--you might just bite your tongue! Miehrath grimaced as he coughed out the bit of firestone in his mouth. Ouch. Well, a little tongue-soreness wouldn't stop him from doing his duty...at least...not much!

They dove to flame a cluster that had fallen past them, only for a sudden blast of wind to send it shooting back up and into Aramath's neck, and onto Silviu's lower leg. Their startled yelps were cut off as the blue vanished between. They reappeared safely, but less confident about making any risky moves.

Aramath bit his tongue while chewing firestone. It really hurt.

The groups shifted and the wing found themselves in the lower altitude giving them a little bit of a breather before needing to join the higher altitude where the thread was the worse yet. Fadeth weaved through the sky as flames spewed from his jaws, from the corner of E’nd eye he noticed something. A silvery mass wiggling through the sky, too close for them to dodge completely as the bronze let out a painful noise.

It was easier, easier than dealing with the thread higher above and Fadeth started to get a little bolder on his maneuvers, maybe too much as they dodged between the silver masses. A larger one, far from both their eyes caught a gust of wind and tangled itself to the bronze’s large tail behind as he jumped in between to dispose of it. It was painful, the worse to scar yet.
