More poetry. lol I'm on a roll today...

Patience, Learned the Hard Way


"That's not a toad!" the young boy wailed.

"Another skink! Again, I've failed!"

He tossed his books and stomped his feet.

"That's it! I shall admit defeat!"



The skink upon his desk then hissed.

"Shut up, skink! Cease and desist!"

Consumed by rage, the young boy turned,

And swiftly spat a spell he'd learned.



Rage consuming every thought,

Magic flowing, mind distraught,

He yelled out every spell he knew,

And did so till his cheeks turned blue.



His gorgeous desk was turned to soap,

He melted down his favorite scope,

Flames leapt up his wooden chair,

And butterflies soon filled the air.



But, the young boy couldn't care.

For he was no longer there.

Naught was left but clothes and hat,

In which a shocked and young toad sat.

That's right....Be patient, or you'll face a toady fate. Constructive crit. and general comments are always welcome!

Puck picked up a wooden rolling pin longer than she was tall and knocked both cookies and knives to the floor, narrowly missing the boy. With one hand she picked up the largest knife- again, longer than she was tall- and with the other she plucked a cookie from the ceramic debris.

She took a bite of the cookie, which was larger than her head, and pointed the knife at her boy. "Choose your weapon!" she commanded, spitting crumbs in the process.

He looked at the knives scattered across the kitchen floor, and gingerly picked up the second largest. He grabbed a cookie as well, shoved it all in his mouth, then held up the knife the same way puck did.

"Good boy!" She lay the knife across her shoulder and grinned with a mouthful of chocolate-stained teeth. "Now let's go out and play."

I wish I had the ability to write poetry like that. My poetry all ends up too serious.
