UP was awesome but one I don't think the 3d was really necessary and the kids in front of us totally didn't appreciate it. Actually I don't think this movie can really be appreciated on its most fundamental level by kids.

Well, no, the 3D WASN'T necessary, but like my other favorite 3D movies so far, it added a nice texture to the movies that I DID rather appreciate. And you're right; like MOST Pixar movies, they really aren't for kids at the heart of the movie. smile (How much did you love the bits with Carl & Ellie?) ^_^

Of course, Kusa and I went to the 10:50pm showing, so we didn't have to worry much about how much the kidlets liked it. wink

Yeah 7:30 still had quite a few kids plus we sat behind some. Half way I realized they'ed all wandered off on their own at some point, as they came chatting. We had to sit way back and off to one side... I think the 3D loses affect a little if you're not front and center.

Oh the whole first part with Carl and Ellie was so adorable.
Only pixar could make a movie that has you totally morning the loss of a character 15 minutes into the movie! It was the dearest thing ever. And like my brother commented Ellie realized after a while that being with people you love was so much more important that cool stuff!

You should maybe give it a shot again at a later time slot (and hopefully a cheaper theater, if there are any around you); there were maybe 20 people in there when we saw it.

And once again, Pixar has a short in front of the movie that had me in stitches! ^_^

That short was awesome. Best one yet next to the old man playing chess with himself. That poor bird! rofl he can't win with that cloud!

I bought Pixar's DVD collection of shorts and I hope that in a few years they put out another that compiles the rest they've made.

Of course, after, er, the events at the beginning, he was probably in no mood for dreaming. Especially with the, ah, bits of paper that ended up on the mantle. Sooo close...

And I was laughing so hard with the poor stork. I put it right up there with the magician's rabbit in front of Wall-e. ^_^

Of course, Pixar hasn't put out anything I haven't liked yet... mrgreen

You do realize, don't you, that the old man playing chess (Gerry) had a cameo in Toy Story 2? ^_^

I didn't particularly like the short. It was well made and all, but... I dunno...

The chess man is still my favorite.

I haven't actually seen all of TS2 sweatdrop does he?! They're making #3. I'm a bit touchy when it comes to sequels but I'm sure it wont be bad. I was already forgetting the magician's rabbit ><

Yeah I love how that scene was the foil for his first time up that hill. I loved how the movie kept moving full circle.

I must say, Toy Story 2 I liked almost as much as (or maybe even more than) the original. There's a FANTASTIC song with Jessie... "When Somebody Loved Me", I *believe*, was the title... smile

I have faith in Pixar, and their writers. They haven't let me down yet. smile
