I'm a good swimmer, so I can save you! And Dhylly can swim too! So don't be scared! I'm sure the Giant Squid was just a joke!" Her green eyes were wide as she mentioned the Squid, which her Father had warned her about. Or had he been joking? ≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ {OoC:}
Daryl looked at Minn, wide eyed. "G...g...giant.... squid?" he swallowed hard and took another step away from the lake. "I... I can't. Minn, I can't!" His heart was hammering out his chest, fear dominating him. His brown eyes clouded with fear.
Now Chloe really did wish that she had taken art. “Man I wish I took art now…” she muttered under her breath. Giving a light nod to the idea of heading to a carriage she really didn’t want to even think about missing the chance to get a ride. Walking to the school grounds would be terrible.
Right before they were about to leave Jay showed up. Chloe secretly wondered where he ended up seeing as they hadn’t run into him beforehand. “Hey Jay, you’re in fifth year now right?” she asked curiously. “Yeah we were just on our way out the more the merrier.” Chloe added.
Ariana gave Steele a small smile as she looked into his blue eyes with her big brown ones. After a moment of looking at each other, the redhead turned her head back to the front of the carriage and watched the path as they rode along it towards the castle. "I guess," she said in response to the boy's question. He made her day a lot better. If she didn't have her friend to help her get through her loss, she didn't know how she would get through the evening, let alone the rest of the year. The starry night was absolutely beautiful out, just like all of the other times the students headed up towards their beloved school Hogwarts of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Out of habit, Ariana leaned her head against Steele's broad chest.

For the sins of our hands, the sins of our tongues, the sins of our fathers, the sins of our young.❞ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Jayden happily agreed to following her, waiting for the others to do that as well. He wanted to formerly introduce himself to her friends, hoping to get to know some better people this year than the past. He never did quite well with picking out friends. They always ended up either stabbing him in the back or hating him for whatever reason. He truthfully has not done anything wrong and people still hate him. It was an unfortunate thing when the star couldn't play anymore, everyone forgets about him. A has-been is more of the term he was looking for. People thought this and to be honest, they were right. He is a has-been, but he really didn't get the chance to do anything. It was okay though because everything was good now. He had a beautiful girlfriend, and better friends.
"Hello everyone, sorry for intruding on your conversation, but I wanted to see her before the feast," he said to them, properly apologizing. He wanted to make sure they knew he was sincere and courteous, much like Newlyn.
"Oh yes, yes I am Chloe. I'm supposed to be in sixth but my uncle dying last year caused me to miss O.W.L.S" he said letting out a sigh. This had been the first time he had brought up his grandfather dying in quite some time. It still choked him up a bit, but not as unbearable as it used to. He was sure Newlyn could tell the touchy subject.

✿✿✿ Serafina noticed that David was starting to get troubled by the words she said. ' All according to plan, ' she thought, smirking. She was already on the carriage, so she watched as the others hopped on. She eyed the two love birds, still with an evil grin on her face. ' Special friend ', he heard David say, talking about Shayna. And when Shayna heard it, she blushed again. Really, they're so cute! She coughed lightly as she crossed her legs. She couldn't help but look in front of the carriage. Nothing was pulling it, which she thought was weird. But hey, they're in a magical school right now, so she thought that it must be magic. As the carriage started to move, she stared at David and Shayna. " Hey, did you two know that....you two look good together? " she smiled sweetly, and she was honest at that. She still continued to smile even if they're looking at her, all of them. Did she say something wrong? ✿✿✿
Shayna would understand David’s master plan when they got to the school hopefully he wouldn’t screw anything up. David climbed in after Shayna and sat next to her. “I’m ready when you guys are.” He said with a smile. Like any smart Gryffindor he was being cautious about Serafina but knew not to show it too badly. “Really?” he questioned. He’d never been told that before maybe they were meant to be. Then again David and Shayna had never really shown signs of being together except for the casual ‘hello’ in class.
Chloe smiled it was completely understandable. "It's quite alright. I'm sure my brother is doing the same thing right now." she told him thinking about the girl he liked. Well not that she knew that for sure but she had her speculations. Chloe went from her happy stat to a somewhat sad one. "I'm sorry to hear that." she said feeling bad about his loss. One the other hand she was also quite amazed that she guessed right. It was just a guess and it just so happened she was right. Chloe would have been off a year if he hadn't missed his OWLS.

Steele, after breaking eye contact with Ariana, looked to the sky. The stars were crystal clear. The moon shined bright. Everything was so perfect, so serene. The calmness could've possibly lolled him to sleep if they were alone. Luckily, they had each other. So, he would not fall asleep anytime soon.
"Dang. I am so tired. Maybe I should've gotten more sleep last night," he said, smiling as she leaned her head against him.

Tears sprang to his eyes. "Mi....Minn... I... I can't..." he said, in between gasps for air. His heart hurt and he felt his knees weakening. "I... I need to... sit..." He felt as though he might collapse at any minute.

Damien gave Dom a small wave, either a good-bye or an indication to follow him, whichever he might decide to take it as, and approached Marina, a smile on her face. He offered his arm to escort her to the carriages."How did that go? I heard a lot of... shrieking."Damien wasn't quite sure if the squeals had been positive or negative. From his vantage, it'd seemed like the girls were happy, but he had no way of knowing if that was true or not, having not been close enough to eavesdrop.

(( OOC: )) ** Damien exit to Entrance Gates with Marina (and possibly Dominic) **
Dominic nodded understanding, but decidedly hadn’t said any more on the subject. There were too many people, too many Slytherins, too many purebloodist’s still loyal and true. He didn’t want to cross their paths just yet, especially before the sorting feast could have ever hoped to begin. When brought up with the decision of what he’d do, he just shrugged. ”I dunno mate, guess I’ll hang back with you a while…
“I dun’ think Gracie’s seen her friends all summer long, anyway.”He explained, crystalline eyes grazing against the girl with vibrant hair. That didn’t last long at all though, because he spotted Damien’s eyes catch something of interest, and with the glance over his shoulder, he knew exactly what. Marina had just separated herself from the rest of the pack, and Damien smiled. He was already headed over by the time Dominic glanced back over to him. ”Aye, I’ll catch up to you later,”he waved in departing and then glanced around at the last of the milling students fleeting to the last of the carriages.
Aw hells, now what? With his hands shoved in his pockets, he meandered to an empty carriage and took the trek to the castle alone. After all, he had the inkiest feeling that everyone’s friends wouldn’t be so forthcoming of him in comparison to Damien. Damien had never been a prat to people intentionally, after all….

Marina took his offered arm and nearly laughed at his question. Was he scared of her friends? Well, more likely what they'd think. He wasn't nasty to anyone anymore, but even she was shocked that Michelle had seemed to stop hating him. "Eavesdropping a bit, were we? It went almost too well. I swear, my ears were about to start bleeding from all the squealing going on. Ada's a huge romantic, so she was delighted, and Nell has been, well, prophesying us getting together since the last year. That's what Hufflepuffs do, I think. Match make." She looked up at him with a somewhat amused grin. "Were you nervous they wouldn't be happy? Sheesh, Damien, even Michelle wasn't mad. Actually, I think she thought it was funny. Speaking of friends, what's Dominic's opinion on all of this?" Come to think of it, she could have sworn she'd seen him with his arms wrapped around Gracie McHalen out of the corner of her eye... But that couldn't be right. Could it?
