She just smiled, lightly hopping out of the way of the dust that had risen from the swing, a small white rose appearing from what seemed like no where in her hand. She blew on the petals, each one popping off of the flower and blowing softly away in the breeze. With pinpoint accuracy, she zipped the stem like a dart at the dead center of Tsuji's body.

Xanatos felt a smirk pass his lips as he stood by his mistress. He sensed the various events passing near the building, and his old instincts were urging him to join the fray. Alas, it wouldn't be fair, he thought to himself, letting out a barely audible sigh, It's times like this I miss the old crew...
Despite his longing, he knew his place was to remain by Lady Slim's side. Besides, the child was no longer a threat to his mistress, and Tsuji was distracting her admirably. Ennui beginning to set in, Xan formed two more fireballs and began juggling the trio of blazing orbs...

Tsuji laughs as Rose begins, "That's more like it! Although your attack is a little basic," He grabs his jacket with his empty hand and brings it up, flipping it around the petals. As he fixes his jacket five iterations of Rose step out from the shadows around them, "Tell me, Rose, are you familiar with the German legend of Doppelgangers?"

-Tsuji
She laughed...or at least, seemed to laugh. Though her lips moved, she didn't make a sound. The stem hit him straight in the chest, as he didn't dodge nor block it. The stem went straight through the armor and clothing that Tsuji had over his chest, although it didn't do much more then pierce the skin. A small amount of a foreign liquid was pumped straight into Tsuji's body, although it didn't seem to have any immediate effects at all. What was immediately apparent was the loud buzzing inside of jacket where some of the petals had stuck themselves, tearing parts of the jacket to shreds. The other petals, some in the air and some on the ground after Tsuji had blocked them, buzzed up and made a beeline for Tsuji's chest.

The first of the five Rose Doppelgangers whistled softly as she watched the effects of Rose's attack, "Interesting, the petal's attack is neither straight nor simple... And what kind of poison did you use on my doll?"

Before the question was finished another set of Rose copies joined the group, "I wonder just how Skrat is doing with his preparations..." The Rose clone that was speaking made a slight motion, and a second clone made a slight bow and left, "Now then, let's see just what you tried doing to me."

Tsuji suddenly lept forward, throwing the club at the ground making the pavement ripple outward under Rose's feet, and drew both his swords.

Control of his first doppelganger seemed to slip from Tsuji's grasp as it was hit by dozens of petals, serenading it multiple times over untill at last the rose petals returned to the stem, reattaching themselves. A smiling Rose held out her arm as she nimbly cartwheel backwards and, using the rearward momentum, she spun left, catching her flower as it flew back into her hand mid stride.

Where the stem had been was a bloody mess, the doppelgangers mangled innards spilling out onto the ground. The uncontrolled corpse dropped the ground with a thud and remained there motionless.

As Rose spun to catch her flower he took the opportunity slip in close and brought himself face to face-to-face with her, looking deep into her eyes he forced his way into her mind and began searching...

He looked for something special. Hidden. Something maybe she isn't even aware, then he found it. It was perfect. A deep fear, most likely repressed but he didn't have time to dwell on it, he simply swapped the object of her existing fear for himself.

As he backed out of her mind he made sure to slip a mistrust of rodents into the back of her mind. Then he released her.

He turned his back to her, and began to walk away, returning to his original form. He lit a cigarette and waved his hand, dispelling the illusion of the Doppelgangers. Indeed even the illusion of a fight.

"You should watch out for yourself Rose," he called back to her, "They say that the appearance of a Doppelganger is an omen of your own demise."

He disappeared into the night trailed by a haunting laughter.

Rose laughed again, or at least, seemed to laugh. Once again, no voice came out. The body of the first doppelganger didn't disappear, as the poison began to take effect. Instead, it's eyes opened, glaring red, and slowly it stood. it's chest, which had been torn to pieces, seemed to be regenerating itself extremely quickly, although the briefly visible regenerated muscles had an noticeably unnatural green tint to it before it was covered up by a normal, fleshy colored skin.

-------

Rose giggled to herself as she continued following the small squirrel, her red eyed pet sitting calmly on her shoulder, as it had been since she arrived. "Plenty of time indeed...but I do wonder...what does a fear? Ironic, though, that he brought up doppelgangers."

-------

Rose looked at her new minion, smiling. She gave it a light nod, and silently the too marched out of the ally way and towards the front entrance of Undacorp.

What would Tsuji-kun want? Money? Authority?

Slim massaged the bridge of her nose frustratedly, closing her eyes in silent concentration. How in the world do you pay a mercenary who doesn't want anything from you?...Shoot, he did this one purpose.

She sighed exasperatedly, opening one eye to cast a glance in Xanatos' direction. Smiling weakly, she turned to face him and tilted her head to one side slightly.

"Don't wanna play, Xan?"

Skrat_teh_Squirrel
A furious voice of Skrat's, still in rodent pitch, filled the minds of Rose, Silver, and Thaliat. "I told you not to MOVE. Just because I'm not there doesn't mean I don't know what you're up to." That last statement was more directed to Thaliat than her accomplice, Rose.
"Now then, Silver, I want you stay by Reiku's side, for now. He will be your master. Thaliat, you and your army may do what you please, just don't attack the enemy unless they attack you first. That is an order, my friend." Thaliat's mind was filled with somewhat of an obnoxious cackle. "Now then, Rose..." His voice trailed off when he realized that Rose was in trouble. "Damnit! This spoils everything! Rose, show me what you're made of! Once you get down to fifty percent of your now onehundred, I'll send back up. s**t! Gah, this is totally not what I wanted..."
His voice trailed off with an echo from their minds.

"Aw, man! How did I get on his bad side...sheesh." Thaliat mumbled to herself glumly. "How was I supposed to know he'd left us behind intentionally. Well, at least now we have the orders to move about...but what good are we to TRA if we aren't allowed to fight?"

Thaliat glanced at the squirrels in formation behind her.

"OK, troops, we are currently on defensive until I receive further orders. Do not engage the enemy unless they engage us."

Thaliat did not want Skrat yelling in her mind again...it was a bit odd feeling at best.

"We are under direct order not to initiate any attack. Since it seems fighting may have already commenced, we have lost the advantage of causing a distraction. The enemy is on alert now. You two," Thaliat pointed to two squirrels. "Scout ahead and report back quickly. Dingo will follow for cover."

Thaliat nodded as the two squirrels scampered forth, followed by a large shimmer of something large yet somehow still unseen. Dingo followed silently, unseen, but fully alert as if he were floating.

"Stay close, Dingo, I need them to return to me alive."

A silver ripple flew quickly through the air, cutting through it like a hot knife cuts through butter. Soon, six to eight other silver ripples followed. The apparent thing was, they were heading down the street toward UndaCorp.
"Shoot..." Skrat mumbled to himself, flying through the air, watching the building fly by him, his focus on the building so many miles in front of him. "First, UndaCorp earns Tsuji's 'trust', I suppose you could call it. Then Saverio goes and attacks them, which irritates me to no end. Ooo when I get my furry hands around his neck..." He coughed, shook his head, and stared foreward again. "Violence isn't the answer..." He sighed. "Anyway, then Rose goes out wandering the streets by herself. I suppose I should apologize. I had forgotten what I said to her." He sighed again. "Thaliat, poor Thaliat. She only wants to fight and I'm holding her back..."
Skrat closed his eyes, and thought, but to himself. "Thaliat, I know you're a good leader. Just, trust me on this. I have some objectives to accomplish first..."

Skrat opened his eyes, and focused them on absolutely nothing. They sheamed, and his squirrely face went blank. He was now in contact with Rose and Thaliat's minds again, but little did he know, he was also in contact with Tsuji's. "Rose, I must apologize. What I said to you earlier I didn't mean. It was just a fit of rage. I get those. Do your best against Tsuji. I'll be cheering for you! Thaliat, the reason I asked you to stay on the defensive is because I have some objectives to reach first. I must apologize for I know you're growing impatient. But please, you'll get your chance. I promise." He chuckled in his mind, and blinked. The sheam was gone, and he had broken the contact. There was a smile on his face.

Skrat landed down in front of the enterance of UndaCorp. His form rebuilt itself, and he was now a squirrel in a cape standing outside of a door, staring up at the tall building in front of him. His followers landed down behind him, all rematerializing the same as he did. They lay their heads down in respect for their leader, and Skrat turned around. "Thank you for following me this far. Please, stay here until I call you, and stay hidden. Dematerialize if you must, though I know that takes a lot of energy for you. I'm sorry." He really was sorry, there was that look in his eyes. The then turned around back toward the building, and vanished in a puff of smoke again.

He went right through the enterance door, toward the presence he felt of Saverio in the elevator. Wall through wall he went through, but it seemed to him that there were more walls then a building of this size would allow. Of this, he was confused. He finally reached the elevator hallway, and rose up into the air, smelling Saverio's scent. The scent grew stronger and stronger as he rose up and up the hallway. Finally, he found him. He wasn't sure, but it looked like he had been hit by the ceiling of the elevator hallway. Skrat looked up. There was a Saverio-shaped indent in the ceiling. "Yup." He stated. He flew onto Saverio's shoulder and rematerialized. "Hey kid." He greeted Saverio with a smug tone to his voice.

Thaliat huffed a bit when Skrat's voice returned in her mind, but he was calmer this time. She did not like being the one that had to hold back, but orders were orders.

"Troops, take cove and conceal yourselves well." Thaliat raised her hand to motion them to hide. She then stepped behind a tree and climbed slowly to hide in its foliage.

If she was to wait, it would not be in the open.

From her vantage point, Thaliat could see the UndaCorp facility in the distance. She watched the area cautiously.

My time will come, I shall prove myself then. We all will.

Tsuji stood behind the cherry of his cigarette, had anyone been able to see him they probably would have wondered what he had found to stand on, but he was content with his vantage point.

Just as he was beginning to wonder if he should check on the other half of his catalyst he saw Skrat enter the UndaCorp building, "The ********? What a brazen little rat..."

He smiled to himself at the surprises that would await Skrat inside, as he himself didn't particularly enjoy Undakai's smell, let alone design choices, "At least it will make things interesting."

He flicked the cherry and watched as it fell, breaking up and going out before it even had a chance to see the ground, let alone hit it, And to think, I'm afraid of heights. With the thought Tsuji began laughing hysterically, "I'm afraid of heights!"

He pulled a new cigarette out of his pocket and held it out, letting a stray lightning bolt light it for him, still chuckling to himself about his joke...

Lin sneezed and magically appeared in the foray. He looked around, holding a bowl of ramen in one hand and a pair of chopsticks in the other. He turned his hand, noodles hanging from his mouth, in the middle of the battle.

"Wwhurhst, going on?" He said, mouth muffled by noodles.

Thaliat saw a figure appear and blinked twice.

"Is he eating noodles? On the battle field?"

She shook her head in disbelief, and looked again. The figure was still there. Thaliat leaned forward, clearly confused, to get a better look.
