Zelaya She nodded, in total agreement. Every dragon was important and had their place and was needed. Just like how the one bright green had worked to free her cousin. That was a good thing, a perfect example. Of course, a moment later another green hatched...this one with eyes blood red. They resisted the urge to step back, facing the danger head on. Not clueless, but armed with their training. A breath, and they radiated only calm, placid openness. Not fear. Not worry. All was fine. The green was as loved and wanted as any of the others, even if she was a little upset today. "Hopefully she'll find her partner sooner than later. I wonder if she's only hungry..."
Falienn Whatever Orri's said washed over Falienn like so many waves on the shore. In time they might wear away the grit and gravel, but now? When it was so fresh? "We'll see." If he even made it off the sands. He'd thought...but no. He watched, solemn as the girl the gold had chosen knelt to embrace her. Funny that. You'd think he'd be used to the sting of rejection. Being left behind for someone with a brighter future. Ah well. He really was happy for her—he just wasn't happy for himself.
And then, more. A blue, composed and ready. And...a green. Two greens, but that one. Those blood red eyes. "Orri. You should go stand somewhere else. If she comes after me...I don't want you to get hurt." Didn't want poor Orri, eager, bright Orri to have to see that. He couldn't look away from the green himself, though the terror he'd expected didn't rise up within him. Instead a sort of frozen acceptance melted into him. It even managed to smother what was left of his broken heart, leaving him finally, peacefully empty.

While he was actually listening to Shar he was watching all the eggs that were beginning to hatch, the green that had Impressed and the people all around him carefully. So far there was the green bronze out on the sands still, a blue had hatched, another green was still on the sands after her sister impressed and now there had been an explosion over near the bronze and a red-eyed green had appeared.
Things were looking to speed up and at the same time get that much worse, so he shifted just a bit so that he could easily protect Zamista, Cavera or Nalacko if he had to, Shar as well but he knew she would be doing all she could to keep everyone safe on her own as well.
"I don't think this will be as long as you think though. Sure, shorter than the one on that beach when we waited for the last green, but this might go faster if they keep hatching so fast and violently." Rizdax stated as yet another green spilled onto the sands.
Oh but her eyes were... Keeping himself calm he looked over at the newly hatched little green with her frightened eyes and sent a warm feeling of support to her. It was going to be okay, she would find hers and be safe.

Ruunan [HR] - 16 - he/him/his - App Woodcrafter
As more eggs hatched, Ruunan’s ears grew hotter, and his heart gave a nervous little flutter. Shells. He’d simply accepted the fact there were close to sixty eggs… but realising what that meant when they all hatched… well… how come that had only occurred to him now?
It was the Crucio egg that scared him the most. Red eyes like that… the poor thing must have been very hungry, or very angry… and either way, he didn’t feel like becoming a dragon-meal just yet (or ever, if he had any say in it).
In that moment, as he contemplated backing off a little, another nudged him- doing exactly that. Ruunan’s face went blank- Rykin’s words seemed so very faraway… and yet, yes. They made exact sense. From the tone to the pause… to the words themselves. “Yes… very… big. An asset.” He tried to rein in his fear, but he heaved a sigh and shook his head slightly.
“She does look a bit angry though… right? Or am I just worried about nothing?”
And the appearance of another green- whose yellow eyes seemed to scream fear- set him on edge a little. “I hope that one’s okay, too…” He didn’t know this young man- but they shared a similar desire not to get hurt, and a fear of what would happen next. Surely that was how friendship was struck, right?

Maddeck // male | Weyr healer, medic | Standidate
Maddeck returned C'vi's wink with a smirk. He seemed confused by something, or perhaps it was just sleepiness. Most humans would not be up at this hour. "Something wrong? Why aren't you still in bed?"
C'vi's joke was not surprising, in that the thought had occurred to himself. Maddeck shook his head. "Don't be silly; one Stands Impression in a family is more than enough."

Rothgar // Male | Weyrherd, camelids/caprines | Candidate
Rothgar watched for his chance for the second bronze, but it never came. He was more interested in helping his siblings, an endearing trait, but a little difficult for those doing the Sand Shuffle. He danced a little in place while his feet burned and the deadpan humor put him into better spirits. He moved over to one side, somewhere between the two clutches. Over here he found the view to be much better. He watched the second bronze Impress, followed by a brownish queen and a spirited green. He wondered if the differently hued metallics had slightly different genes than their siblings. As a beastcrafter he found this to be very interested, even if he knew much about caprine genetics from breeding and next to nothing about dragons outside of Candidate classes. His mind wandered this way, giving in his own way, an excited aspect to the hatching and each new baby dragon. As Rothgar watched more green, a brown, and finally a blue all caught his eye. So far he had caught none of theirs. He had already seen himself through other hatchings so he was not surprised. And even if these had been the last hatchlings, he would not be surprised to go off to drown his sorrows. Except that he wanted to see a dragon healer about dragon hide genetics.

Beloved, may.....may I? Anakumath pulled away from Martirae after a long moment, the purples and greens of so much love being offered up faltering as the gold dared step away from her perfect moment. It was one she'd be able to return to with her chosen only in memory now, and perhaps it was too soon to let it end. But Marty's hands remained tender with only hers. It was hard to not feel envy twist at her heart, but understanding was immediate.
"We're going, I..." her lips tightened, as she finally looked away from the group she'd stood with. "I'll save you a spot," she said with a nod, clearly pulled away by the gold who was going to make a few last rounds before the two left. Anakumath carefully paced away from the girls and off towards...well, a few people. There was first, Soui, who seemed wound up in a very nice boy who was reassuring her. The young healer was first offered a nudge of a nose against a hand, and a small kreel. Then, a surge of affection.
These tears are my fault, aren't they? she kreeled, knowing only her Martirae would hear it - oh, it was not meant to beg for appeasement, but merely an observation. Marty pushed it out. Never. Dehka was similarly offered a nudge of warmth, before it was off on the little gold's walk. She needed...she needed.....
She needed Falienn, the little gold making her way to where the heartbroken boy was, all greens and purples nearly gone from Anakumath's gaze as she hesitantly reached out mentally to nudge the boy, as if a snout against his cheek. It was okay if he didn't want to see her after she'd broken his heart so - oh, maybe even her - No. Marty would squash that uncertainty that the little gold didn't even deserve her beloved before it could be planted. But for Falienn, she would at least offer something like love.
If he even wanted it from her now.

Lauthisen
The lanky boy was glad to see that the queen managed to find her chosen partner without issue, nodding with quiet satisfaction to himself. Soon, a blue delicately made his way into then, a red-eyed green. "There's our blue," He commented, noting that dark hide appreciatively. As for the green... well, he kept his thoughts calm. There was no need to assume she was going to do anything rash. Hopefully the other candidates would remember that as well.
Still, being light on his feet was never a bad idea. "I always wonder if they know something we don't," Lauthisen commented dryly. Perhaps the browns and (most) blues were waiting for something?
--
Dehka
The fluffy-haired boy blinked with surprise, not... certain what to make of that statement. Too kind to someone like her? "I don't think that's true at all." She released him, and then to his utter confusion, started to move away... Did she need space? Had he done something? Dehka's brows furrowed for a moment before, on a whim, he reached out to snatch her hand. He stared at her intently, saying nothing.... and twisted his head to see the blue and the green that had emerged from their shells.
Before he could do anything else, the tiny gold from before had approached, and the boy's eyes grew huge at the sudden, sweet warmth that flooded through him.
He watched the little queen head off again, feeling both dazed... and extremely, extremely fortunate. "T-Thanks..." He whispered after her, swallowing thickly.
